Great video!! So honestly, it's just l like the other statement on grading, the reverse doesn't make the grade, it can only lower it. For the Jeff Nickel, the steps can't make the grade, but if the coin is a high grade, the steps can magnify the value. You can't have a cruddy coin with full steps and it be super valuable just because of full steps.

I just picked up a 1940 graded at MS 65 ...5.5 steps found it in a junk box at the flea market paid $10 for it very nice coin

It is the MS that you want FS, not the proof. Excellent work, too many people overprice on eBay and other sites, does eBay have an obligation to control the prices asked? Nope. Buyer beware. Search eBay for that Palladium coin that was released just yesterday, see what the highest price is, it is laughable.

How rare is a full steps business strike?

Hi. You mention that the older proof sets were placed in hard acrylic cases. What about the sets of the 1950's and 1960's that were sold in the flat cello packs...are those coins considered proof coins or business strike coins? If they are just business strikes, then why did the mint even bother packaging them in cello packaging at all? I was told that the full step Jefferson nickels from cello packs are valuable because they were produced as business strikes and not as proofs. The same person stated that the older nickels are usually missing from these cello sets because the full step nickels have been cherry picked out and sold for big bucks for their full step, business strike designation. What say you?

They are proof coins in the cello packs. They arrived originally in brown envelopes. The others were in white envelopes. Its easy to tell the difference.
