JustAnswer Customer: Hi, I have a beko tumble dryer with a no heat fault.
JustAnswer Customer: Model dsc64w.
JustAnswer Customer: I have checked all the obvious faults - the thermal cut out both thermistors, the heating element.
JustAnswer Customer: I have even tested the circuit board assy on another dryer of the same type and it worked OK.
JustAnswer Customer: I have tried the reset procedure ie holding down the cancel buzzer button, switch power on, no joy.
JustAnswer Customer: Anything further I can try?
Daniel: Home Appliance Technician: Hi Ok so both thermistors on the dryer test ok and the thermostat on the heater is ok?
Daniel: Home Appliance Technician: What resistance reading did you get from the thermistor on the heater itself?
Daniel: Home Appliance Technician: Regards
JustAnswer Customer: Not quite sure at the moment I think it was about 500 ohms at room temp, reducing when heated.
Daniel: Home Appliance Technician: Hi Ok you need to check it as if it was 500 ohms then its faulty and that's why its not heating.
Daniel: Home Appliance Technician: As that thermistor is roughly around 7K ohms (7000 ohms) Depending on the type of heater it has otherwise it may be around 20K ohms either way it will be in Kohms the reading.
Daniel: Home Appliance Technician: If it is the 500 ohms then its faulty and will need to be replaced as this comes as a complete heater unit.
Daniel: Home Appliance Technician: As for this dryer if its not heating then it can be only either the heater itself, Thermistor at the front duct or the control board it will have to be one of them at fault.
Daniel: Home Appliance Technician: So just double check that thermistor on the heater and see what you find and let me know.
Daniel: Home Appliance Technician: Regards
JustAnswer Customer: The thermistor on the heating element is indeed at fault.
JustAnswer Customer: The heating element assy is not readily available off the shelf and will cost £60+ when avaiable.
JustAnswer Customer: Is there another thermistor available off other dryers with the correct value of 12kohm.
JustAnswer Customer: There seem to be thermostat sets readily available for several makes of dryer and are the same size but the reistance values are not quoted.
Daniel: Home Appliance Technician: Hi I afraid heater thermistors usually come as part of the heater on all makes and models as they don't usually sell them separate.
Daniel: Home Appliance Technician: Front thermistors you can get on there own but heater thermistors don't so there isn't any thermistor I can recommend for you im afraid as personally we don't fit other parts from different machines as it alters the spec of that dryer so for us its something we don't do so I cannot think of any thermistor you can try unless you can find a second hand heater on the likes of Ebay.
Daniel: Home Appliance Technician: Regards
