I love how when ryu leaves a stamp like "wow!" or "cool idea!" on a level it can either mean it was the best level he's played in a while or it was absolute garbage

I remember watching his twitch a year or so back and he played a really cool level and gave it compliments then left without hearting it. Chat gave him shit for it. 😂 Not worse than that one ad though.

My wife is not a gamer. At all, its basically a foreign language to her. Yet i watch so much ryu with her around that she knows both the channel and mario language. She also enkoys ryan carrs voice and vibes. Ryu: inspiring even non gamers to love cheese.

Well, Ryu isn't as big on troll levels as the others. Though he is big on complete garbage.

Neat, I used Google Translate and the title card for the level you were playing at 21:20 actually directly translates "3D World 12-3 Final! Championship Road" so you were right about it being Champion Road.

Yeah, given the level's aesthetics - the aesthetics of a well made troll level tend to be different from the sort of trolls within the hot garbage levels Ryu normally encounters, I suspect it was a knowledge checkpoint rather than an attempt to upload an unbeatable level. The CP1 room reeks of a CP1, also, so it might even be beatable from any checkpoint (assuming there's a second one in there somewhere) rather than the dev needing a dev exit anywhere.

...Getting a good modern troll level in super expert no skip is just... Perfection. (The second one, to be fair, might have been doing the 'knowledge checkpoint' trope - where you learn something late in the level that changes how you play it - rather than it being complete bs with the hidden path to the exit which Ryu just... bypassed entirely. So the level might not have been 2/3 fake, but a level with the reward being instructions on how to find what Ryu did at the end)

That second level was a pretty good troll level.

This was a rare treat getting to see Ryu play a legitimate troll level.

The erratic behavior in the champions rode level was due to the previous shell not despawning in time and still hitting the previous switches at the same time.

That second level was actually pretty nice ! I’m not a fan of levels that keep trying to kill u and just trolls but that one was something else, was a refreshing malicious level and I liked it a lot and that ending when the switch were different was so cool

That first troll level gave me full blown anxiety. That was maniacal

Bro the fire flowers at 18:26 gave me a heart attack 💀

With the one level the reason it was erratic is you stopped in just the right spot for two of the spinys to be hitting the on off switches so it was going a lot faster than it should have.

I would love to see Ryu play more trolls. That was a good one, but there's much more elaborate and hilarious ones out there.

21:40 Ryu, you ended up activating the next on/off going too fast ahead and then backing up. So you had 2 on/off going almost at the same time.

It's been a while since I've watched Ryu, or any Mario Maker gameplay at all, so this was my first video back in a long time. Very glad to see he's still the absolute master of cheese with that last level.

Over all these years, Ryu consistently become more appreciative of good levels in the midst of all the garbage.
