I recommend getting Dead Space Mobile its actually a prequel to Dead Space 2 with its own story and very very faithful gameplay for a mobile game it shows how the space station in part 2 falls apart

That was brilliant fun, please continue with it. You can refill your stasis with stasis packs, just press Y to check your inventory to see if you have any. Weapons also have an alt fire, press LT and RB. With the plasma cutter I think it changes between horizontal and vertical shots. 🙂

Tips & Tricks: - If you run out of ammo for a weapon and still have some in your inventory, the gun should auto-reload if you try to fire. If you want to manually reload, you have to aim the weapon with LT and then press the A Button. - All weapons have an alternate firing mode. To switch to the alternate firing mode, aim your weapon with LT and then press RB. For example, the Plasma Cutter's alternate firing mode changes its slice from vertical to horizontal, which can be better for cutting off the legs of Necromorphs in most cases. - Necromorphs come in many varieties and have different abilities, but most, if not all, suffer from the same weakness: cutting off their limbs. Doing this will remove some of their attacks, make it harder for them to move around, and if enough limbs are cut off, it will eventually kill them. Body shots don't do much. You gotta cut of their arms, legs, and/or head. Sometimes enemies will fake you out and pretend to die after being shot enough times. It's best to shoot them from afar to confirm the kill before approaching their presumed corpse. If an item happens to pop out of an enemy for you to collect, then it's definitely dead. - You can open any chest or locker that has a glowing white light on it by pressing the A Button when near them. If the light is red, it cannot be opened. Most of these lockers and chests will contain ammo, credits, or other resources to help you survive aboard the Ishimura. - Power Nodes are unique items that are used to upgrade your weapons and RIG at stations called a BENCH. Power Nodes can be found lying about in secret areas, but are usually found in specific blue wall cabinets. Remember that your RIG is shorthand for the suit you're wearing that governs your health, oxygen levels, and stasis energy. The vertical bar that runs down your spine is your current health level. The small half-circle part on the right of your health bar is your current stasis energy level. Each use of stasis will lower this, but it can be refilled by using stasis packs or by using stasis recharge machines found throughout the ship. Upgrading the respective part of your RIG will increase the total stasis energy you can hold. - Power Nodes can also be used to unlock certain doors in the game and behind these doors you will usually find valuables to sell, a plethora of ammo, and even store schematics. Schematics are used to install new items at the store for purchase. This includes new weapons, new suits that provide more armor and damage reduction, and ammo or other items. Keep this in mind when exploring. It's always a good idea to have at least one Power Node on you at all times because you never know when you'll come across doors that need one. Have fun, and don't get too scared!

From what I remember, once they creature drops an item for you to collect they are officially dead lol. Loved this playthrough and don't worry about taking your time!

I have Alien Isolation on my list!!

I will never forget that first run for the elevator for the rest of my goddamn life. That part terrified me back to when I played this game. I'm glad I wasn't the only one😅 Edit: Also, I haven't finished the video yet so maybe you already discovered what I'm about to write, but there are certain boxes on the game you can open by pressing A right next to them. They are beisch-greenish boxes with a bright white linear light. Lockers with that light can be opened as well that way. Well, enjoy the game😊

The most important hint for now - don’t miss the fuse boxes! They are very important as they contain power cores - those are your most valuable currency in the game. You can use them for weapon and suit upgrades and for the secret stash rooms all over the places. They will help you a lot!

@@JonesySpaceCat i have played this game so many times that i dont feel much i am firing a plasma shot before they arrive, so watching a new player get the same feelings as when i playing it first in 2008/9 is o much fun, Fun fact the "alien" writing on the walls in the med bay/morgue are a real substitution code language.. each symbol corresponds to a letter in english and it tells you thing, nothing major but interesting

Loved this episode. “Is it dead?” Scattered limbs and a torso splattered on the floor. FYI each weapon has two modes; the plasma cutter allows you to switch it so it fires vertically instead of horizontally. If you switch it to vertical and aim for the balls, it usually downs them pretty quick (I guess it hits both legs together?). You did miss a power node earlier in the episode at the part with the arms (they are always in those little blue square boxes on the wall). My favourite weapon is the plasma cutter but there is quite a variety. I have never heard a person to tell a game to ‘shut up’ before 😂👍 I look forward to the Med bay!

I’m quite a bit late to watching your play through if this so I run the risk of saying stuff people already said, but I can’t believe you’re taking this series on, good for you challenging yourself… all that said, the number one thing I love about this game is the minimalist hud that is cleverly hidden on your character. I recall (and this is sort off topic, sorry!) God of War also wanted to get rid of all hud and menus and maps by somehow zooming into the Leviathan Axe to show them, to continue their non-cutting idea, but they couldn’t make it work. I’m hoping they got it to work for Ragnarök! Anyway, a belated wishing you a great, or perhaps I should say, horrific time with the series! Oh and I forgot, my second favourite thing is our characters name, Issac Clarke, an homage to sci-fi greats, Issac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke…

23:50 HA! That's really saying a lot. Didn't it take you close to 100 attempts to beat Kos? (no judgement btw) 25:16 LOL, now you see what people were talking about. Game seriously crawls up your spine. Good choice of game Jonesy. The atmosphere in DS is wickedly good. I was laughing for much of the episode. FYI, the initial gun you acquire is in many players opinion one of the best in the game. There are definitely other guns though, that will make certain sections easier, and/or are required to progress.

If you're interested in more of the story, there are two animated dead space films. Dead Space Downfall is a prelude to the first Dead Space game , and Dead Space Aftermath happens in-between the Dead Space 1 and Dead Space 2 games.

That was such an entertaining video! I'm not sure if you screamed more or asked "Is it dead!?" more, but it was entertaining either way. Especially when you scared yourself by accidentally shooting or accidentally bringing up the navigation line! I know the game seems terrifying at the beginning, but by the time you get to the end it's not *quite* so scary. Then you get to do the sequels and experience the horror all over again!😁 I assume you figured it out already, but you can recharge your stasis by going into your inventory and using a stasis pack. As far as I know, there isn't a shortcut button for this. If you fully upgrade the initial gun, it's actually quite powerful. I think it ends up being the most powerful weapon in the game at that point. However, you might want to save your nodes until you've found more weapons and tried them out. When you have a favorite we'll be able to give you a better idea of how to upgrade it. The necromorph near the end of the video had no legs because it's a different type of enemy than the others. You'll come to really hate the legless ones since they like to leap at you from across the map from angles you aren't expecting them to come from, usually when you're fighting off something else. Can't wait to see the next episode!

@@JonesySpaceCat You did fine, really! I remember being terrified to play the game when it first came out. The atmosphere and jump scares, intentional ones and accidental, always got me. I've seen people who play almost nothing but horror games get scared playing Dead Space. If you want something horror themed but a little lighter, you might want to look at Little Nightmares. The two games are fun to play and short, in case you want to stick them in between larger games on your channel. Interestingly, the story is only suggested and hinted at so if you like to speculate about what everything means then you might really enjoy them.

The game is very tense and i definitely was all puckered up the first time i play it but at the end of the day you just get into the mentality that you're the one with the gun, they should be scared of you! It's a good game series, i hope you get hooked and finish it. I don't know if you care about plot in video games but if you do you should definitely give the opening of your video a rewatch, you can view all the audio, text and video logs in your inventory menu and you can also read the objectives log which is written in the first person and acts as Isaac's diary. Otherwise you will just be a space man following a blue line. Speaking of that, exploration pays off in this game. If you are still on this level you should probably do a quick run back to where you fixed the tram and get the power node you left in that wall since those aren't cheap or common and it's just there for you to take. I would advise keeping a node on you at all times so you can open special doors. As for upgrades, just upgrade the stuff you like, surely asking what to do is basically reading a guide no? One tip i can give is Capacity upgrades on weapons refill your ammo in the gun automatically so you can get free ammo like that, the same goes for health upgrades and stasis energy upgrades. Stasis hit detection can be spotty so I'd advise you to aim at the enemies feet instead (the ground they are standing on). Don't be shy about selling items you have a lot of or no need for, money is very useful in this game. For example this early you can find large healing packs which heal you to full, but since you have so little health that is a complete waste of the item, meanwhile they are worth a fair chunk of money. 46:48 also that was not your shadow and that was also not just A shadow, there was definitely something actually there behind you.

I'm just playing it at this moment and shitting bricks and jumping at shadows all the time. But I'm loving it. For an old game it does so many things right for a horror game. Background music is barely noticeable and only increases the volume when things get intense. Jump scares when necromorphs just come at you with no warning, making you panic hitting all the wrong buttons, spamming your fire button making you waste ammo. All these things make the tension crank up, keeps you on edge the entire game. Brilliant game design and next to Resident Evil one of the best horror game franchise you will ever play. I'm up to Chapter 4 right now, so a little bit further ahead than you. I've watched a couple of let's play series over the years so know what to expect. But that doesn't mean shit when you actually play the game, I still get sweaty all tense when I load it up, and breathe a sigh of relief when I finish a chapter. I hope you stick with it. The janky controls take a bit of getting used to, but I think after awhile I think you will enjoy it as the game progresses. Years ago I started Dead Space but only got as far as Chapter 2, and put it on the back burner for some unknown reason. Now I'm determined to finish it and even play the other two. Fingers crossed you carry on, because I'm really enjoying all your screams and jumpscares, just as I'm enjoying my ones. As always love you lots.🥰

@@JonesySpaceCat Oh I forgot to leave you a tip. When you think that you haven't killed the Necromorph and he's just playing dead, just give the body another shot of your gun. Plasma cutter ammo is widely available in every level so it doesn't matter if you think you're wasting ammo. Also enemies will only drop ammo, credits and resources only if they are stone cold dead. No goodies around his corpse means they can still jump you. Hope this helps.

The reason you don't start with a gun is because you are an engineer Another cool thing in this game is that almost all the weapons are actually mining / engineering tools Apart from the actual military rifle.

@@JonesySpaceCat no problem there's also a comic and two books the comic actually happened simultaneously to downfall but I don't think you need to read them in order to play the games they just flesh out the world more there's actually a video on KZread that gives you the entire timeline including the books and the comic it just kind of confusing though when it keeps switching between the comic and the movie

@@JonesySpaceCat also a little tip there's a mission later where you have to hop onto a turret and shoot asteroids until the guns auto lock is fixed you might get it on the first try but it took me forever to get past it after you make and use the poison to unlock a door there is a boss battle little tip don't have the flamethrower or the buzz saw gun equipped their range isn't far enough to hit the boss the plasma cutter, line gun and pulse rifle are your best option

In space nobody can hear you scream. Unless you're Jonesy. This is an amazing game. Can't wait for you to get to the scary parts. Not sure if DS2 is scarier but it's definitely more disturbing. You do start questioning your sanity. I'm sure they used HP Lovecraft as a consultant. If you're asking for other games to play now that I know you've got an Xbox you could begin your Halo journey. It's fantastic science fiction storytelling and Master Chief is such a sweetie. Also Witcher 3, Horizon Zero Dawn and Final Fantasy 7 Remake are all beyond awesome. Not many tips to give now, but I suggest to keep a eye in your inventory. You could end up with too many med packs and no space for ammunition, maybe not now, but when more weapons are available. Also the plasma cutter is the best weapon in the game.

Congratulations! You've just played the scariest game ever made, so far. You want to max out your plasma cutter, the first gun you get in the game, asap. Two other good guns you'll come across is the ripper, which shoots out saw blades, and the line gun, for taking down the big enemies. Don't forget that every weapon has an alternative fire mode. Save some nodes to upgrade your rigs health and stasis ability. Some parts of the game there will be rooms filled with enemies and stasis really comes in handy in those situations.

Hello Jonesy! I'm here (finally). I already watched the video in full. Now I'm here to give you and my fellow viewers my thoughts. Here goes! 9:40 - This jumpscare worked on my my first TWO playthroughs. Like I said on twitter, elevators are about as safe as the rest of the ship. Also, these are called "slashers" and they are the most common type of necromorph you will encounter. 10:56 - [VW] Jonesy jumpscares herself test firing the cutter. 11:25 - I giggled. A lot. 16:25 - Assume that every necromorph you find lying on the ground is faking its death. Humans who look dead usually are dead. Usually. 17:20 - As for the "is it dead?" question, my rule of thumb was to remove all but one limb, and even then I still stomped to make sure. 21:20 - Sometimes the game will do this just to be an asshole. Unless you hear a quarantine alert or a spike in the background music, you're generally fine. 22:50 - As someone who has beaten this game but has not reached Kos, I find this inspirational. 24:23 - [VW] I love watching people get their first headshot in this game. As the necromorphs are not even technically alive (more on that in a future video), they do not need brain stems. So shooting their head won't kill them. But it DOES piss them off, so there's that 😁 29:37 - [VW] Leaper leaps, Jonesy screams (Also, nice quickdraw Jonesy. Looks like RDR2 has trained you well!) 32:42 - [VW] Jonesy quickdraws a slasher in the balls. 34:00 - Me saying out loud "DON'T BOOT STOMP THE RED THING." I could distinctly SEE you considering it 🤣 34:58 - [VW] Jonesy not counting ammo. 36:04 - [VW] Possibly my favorite moment in this video. 36:40 - This game uses bumpy noises in the dark and people moaning as background music most of the time. It's not the noises you should worry about. It's when they stop. 38:12 - [VW] Another slasher faking its death. 39:10 - [major VW] I take it back. THIS is my favorite moment. Once again, any necromorph (especially the stalkers) with more than one limb should be presumed alive. Extra credit for boot stomping the head 🤣 41:16 - [VW] Slasher running right at the elevator when the doors open. 43:23 - What is best to upgrade? I applaud that you upgraded the RIG first, as that increases both your max health and your oxygen capacity. For weapon upgrades, I always upped the damage for the plasma cutter and the line gun (which I believe is the next weapon you'll find). 43:53 - [VW] Around the corner. 44:08 - [VW] That guy who ran away is back. 44:41 - "I hope you guys are enjoying this!" Jones, I'm married with kids and this might be the happiest day of my life. 45:42 - [VW] Another post-elevator scare. Extra credit to J for double tapping the floor next to the bad guy, which I definitely did a few times when I was 22. 46:48 - [VW] Alright, third time's the charm. THIS is the undisputed favorite moment of this video. I laughed so hard it hurt. 50:59 - [VW] Corner scare. 53:31 - Because it was a leaper, they don't have legs. They look more like scorpions. You'll encounter many different flavors of necromorphs during your time on Ishimura 😁 CANNOT WAIT to see more of this! The ship's Med Bay is up next and it's a piece of cake, I assure you!
