i was kind of scared to post this because it’s so vulnerable and ugly but it’s real and it’s part of my story so i’m sharing it. i filmed this right before getting a flight back to the US. i’m in a good hospital now working hard on getting healthier. i was not in the best state when i left for india but i did it anyways because it’s a country i’ve always been really interested in and wanted to experience. i underestimated how badly it would effect my health, despite wearing a mask most of the time and taking all the precautions i could. please try to refrain from lecturing me- trust me- i’ve been so hard on myself the last few days and i know that going to india was stupid given my condition. i’ve learned my lesson and won’t be traveling to polluted places like this again. and i know i look ugly in this video and i have a weird nose and blahblahblah please be nice to me haha. it’s not easy sharing this much personal stuff with the world but something in me tells me it’s important

You should visit Iceland, Stephi. It was ranked as having the cleanest air in the world. Though it is probably a lot more expensive to visit than India.

Stephi, I almost died a couple months ago (of cf related issues 😩). I made it through, and I want to tell you what I felt in the hours I wasn't sure I would make it: I felt deep grief and regret for not having done some of the things I would have loved to do. Things I did not risk because I was scared or because I made the 'reasonable' decision not to take the risk. It would have been dreadful if I had died then, because I absolutely wasn't ready to leave the world that I hadn't even seen much of. I got another chance, and this time I will take way more risks... So I am sure you did exactly the right thing going to India! At least you tried! And you will always remember the week you had there and cherish those memories. So don't be hard on yourself! We need to live while we are able to, and we can only fully live if we add the element of risk to it. I really hope you will recover at least to your baseline, though! Lots of love from Germany 💜

india's per sqaure capita pollution is 1/10 th of that of the US. its the demographics of the major cities which makes it toxic sometimes due to the industries.. and by ua comment i believe u donno how big india is.. judging india by its one major city

The fact that you even went to India after everything you went through in Indonesia shows so much fortitude for your love for life and travel. You DID experience India, even if it wasn’t in the full capacity you wished for it to be. Most Americans will never see India in their lives. Allow yourself to be sad and frustrated about your health and limitations but remember no matter where you are you are carrying such spirit with you!

Unfortunately it's not a cure cause the defective gene that causes cystic fibrosis is in all of the human cells but I hope she lives a long life with minimal pain sucks to see this suffering

Not just the cost of the transplant but she has to find compatible lungs, the donor has to be similar in size to her, too. That's not so easy.

My Mama side has something to say- the fact that you continue to try to go adventuring in spite of everything that tells you not to, shows you for the Warrior you are. It is ok to cry and to mourn the loss of your abilities (temporary loss or not). You have led a life at a young age that alot of people who are 3 times your age haven't lived and on your terms. That is Brave and awesome. Be proud of yourself sweetie. Take some time and rest. Remember, tears cleanses your soul and I'll say it again, you are allowed to mourn things and be sad. I just wanted to say thank you. This past year, I've lost my job, lost the concept of family, my health has declined etc. A lot has happened. I just want to thank you for inspiring me in my life. You've taught me so much about life through your videos. I used to think my job was my life. My status was my life. You taught me life is about so much more and there is so much beauty in the world. Thank you so much. I know how it feels not to be able to do what "normal" people can do. I have hypermobility and fibromyalgia. It sucks but we're blessed with a perspective that "normal people" have. You may not have traveled at all had you not had this illness. I’m a Stephi fan! Love her! But her friends are idiots! The most polluted city in the world. Dakota should have known better. The idiot friend with the rat is no genius. WTF were they thinking. I too have a life threatening chronic illness so I know what I’m talking about. Stephi was encouraged to go to India with her friends. Of course she wants to say “yes”.

I think many things went wrong w/Claire. Was the lung transplant to late, Did the Hospital do the lung transplant, knowing she had Been sick, lost weight, lying in bed too long and formed a clot, was the wrong hospital and wrong surgeon chosen. Choosing San Diego never felt right to me, could be projection. Anyone at anytime during surgery can blow a clot, regardless of age, sickness or surgery and it happens on a second. I adored Claire!
