I Got YELLED AT For Filming In Ethiopia
I got yelled at for filming in Ethiopia. In this Ethiopia travel vlog I took a quick ride around Hawassa, Ethiopia in a rickshaw or bajaj as they call it in Ethiopia. I wanted to quickly experience the city of Hawassa in the brief time I had. I stopped to get some water and as I was filming I got yelled at by a man who did not want to be on camera. I kindly apologized and moved on. I enjoyed my short ride around Hawassa, Ethiopia and noticed that it was a very clean and peaceful city.

Who am I?
A man from the USA trying to discover the world one place at a time, while sharing the experiences through my lens. I like traveling to places that are usually not first on most people’s itinerary and showing everyone that these places are worth the journey. I want to experience all the countries I visit as a member of the society but at the same time learn about the culture, food and beautiful people. Growth is not achievable without leaving your comfort zone, so just do it!

bro im Ethiopian in hawassa....the people here all over the country are nice specially 6:18 the girl who made coffee made me feel there still humantiy exists,she trusted you to stay her lonely kid with some one who she saw for the first time really incridable❤big love and God bless you for represtenting our country well👍👍🙌🙌
Very peaceful, pretty areas.
I love your channel brother. From the very first video. Have been following your journey and I love the growth of your movement and channel. The one thing you could pay attention to is : "consent". Some people are very sensitive about being on video etc. Your approach is coming from a very good place/ heart. Just ensure to ask for permission/consent in some places, especially when you feel the energy of the people is not right. Just my 2 cents
It’s fasting time brother Ramadan Mubarak

That's just down to that guy's culture or disposition, not all people are extroverted or like to be filmed. This is even true in countries like Japan, or in Muslim-majority communities worldwide, or in some individual conservative towns or neighborhoods which value introverted attitudes, even in the West. Some cultures are introverted, others more extroverted. while Ethiopia is friendly, it seems more introverted than the West, the Philippines or Latin America. Instead it seems more like the Middle East, where there's a hint of suspicion or want to keep veiled/unseen because of beliefs like the Evil Eye. I think that particular neighborhood Myer was in at the beginning has that introverted mentality. I live in a largely extroverted country (the Philippines), but just across the border in neighboring Malaysia and Indonesia, and across the nautical borders in Taiwan and Japan, people there are VERY introverted because of their culture, and while polite and shout out greetings, they dislike being filmed and will often hide their faces or look offended if you film them lol. Even among Muslim Filipinos here, they dislike being filmed, whereas the majority of Christian Filipinos love being on camera :) Again, like Ethiopia, one country, but different religions and cultural attitudes. We just have to respect those cultural and personality differences :) You can see Myer is respectful and aware of these differences in attitudes.
The shop keeper who sold you water was stupid and idiot. He cursed himself with broken English thinking he cursed you. I believe hate Muslims with his wicked heart. If you didn’t heard what he tried to say was. “Get out here I don’t want to see your face”. But he doesn’t know how to say it right way. He was crazy dude honestly!
brother 10:43 don't say "egziyabiher ymesgen" you are a muslim muslims doesn't response like that just say alhamdu lilah instead
@oromtitiwbo5078
11 ай бұрын
Egziabher simply means God in Amharic/Ge'ez. Allah is God in Arabic. Alaha is God in Aramaic(the language of Jesus(AS) Elohim is God in Hebrew. Waaqa is God in Oromo. I hope you know Amharic speaking Muslim and Christian is calling God by Egziabher. Arabic speaking Muslim and Christian are calling God by Allah. Oromo speaking Muslim and Christian are calling God by Waaqa. Anyone can call upon God interchangeably in any language, we are referring to the same God as long as they are referring to the One God, Creator of the Universe, the monotheistic God of Adam and Eve.
You didn’t get yelled at bro. You can’t just put camera in people faces without asking their permission dawg
