The story goes, I found a listing on gumtree for pottery stuff. When I arrived the seller said 'I have all these pottery moulds would you like them as well?' and I said 'why not'. On the way home, I had the brain child to do a social media video series revealing what each mould is.
The mystery is in the fact that I had no idea what I had said yes to, some of the moulds are labelled and easy to tell but some of them are a little more difficult. The beauty is that all of the plaster moulds surprise you no matter the presentation of labels, titles or identifiable surface inside.
So come join me as I dive into this series and share the mould fun. I would love to hear any information you may have on the moulds and to let me know any stories you have that the moulds remind you of in the comments.
Don't forget to like, comment and subscribe!
Heaps of love,
Shelby

The first name that comes to mind for your kiln is Miss Terri - because it's where all the mystery mold pieces go!

Loved your work. That blue! Gorgeous! ❤
The colors on the abstract ones are amazing, but I also like shiny glazed looks, so it would be wonderful if you would try non-matte bright colors! Sophie's retro forest vase was just everything. She's such a beautiful artist.
Sophie's tree vase was amazing! What a cute project.
I think big soft curvy bodies are dear to us all, similarly to the representation of the Mother Earth archetype, there’s something mother like and soft-gentle-caring about this soft big curvy beings. How lovely!
Had a rough night (dislocated my hip and foot while sleeping, woke up in a confused world of pain) and as I was recovering from relocating my joints I got this lovely notification! Thank you for the joy and peace you bring 😊 I really enjoyed the shape and the collaboration! What a wild transformation the blue/purple made in the kiln for Sophie! Reminded me a bit of the color change in the tiles that were painted for the kitchen backsplash on the KZread channel “how to renovate a chateau”. Lots of interesting techniques and styles in this video with watercolor backgrounds and matte glazes that really popped! I really loved the flow on Sophie’s pink and red flower vase, completely matched your description of her style. Wishing everyone a healthy and lovely day!

Wishing you healing and easy recovery, O hope you feel much better soon!
Initially I thought KZread was recommending an old video of yours since I know you've done 100 mystery moulds. I'm so glad I clicked on this video!! It's lovely seeing different art styles that compliment each other!
I *love* Sophie's pieces with the full landscape/image art and your vases would be a super adorable base for a nursery lamp!

I loved listening to you guys having a conversation about your art-perspectives, art-nerdery, and just being friends. So cozy 🍁

When she said "I am so happy we are friends!" I was all awwwwww
I love all of these, but I especially fell in love with the one with the woman holding a dandelion. It just speaks to me.
This was so delightful !! I love how you support each other’s work and they turned out beautifully. Thanks for introducing me to this artist !
Artist friendships are so great
So cool that you made a friend along your pottery journey! You two talk the same in a way, not like the voice but she was saying things and describing things like you would…but I probably don’t know what I’m talking about 😂
I really love the colors this week!!! These would be really cute made into lamp bases for a little desk lamp!
You should name your kiln Pigscilla Presley, since they're related!! Great collab, so beautiful!! Let me know if you ever want to collab with someone who doesn't do pottery at all! 😆 I would love to try painting pottery with you!

wow this mold is perfect for a paint your own pottery party. its fun to see how different people use the same shape to make different designs.
Wow, I love your work, Sophie! As another soft curvy body owner, I love seeing your representation! And what a gorgeous blue that turned out to be! Thanks, Shelby, for letting us see this great collaboration!

Omg! Omg! I love all of them! Thank you for the special collaboration!! ❤❤❤
Watching that dark blue glaze dry is just ** chef's kiss **
I suggest sunfire for your kiln or any other combination of sunflower and fire. Thanks for your videos and art. And for introducing Sophie ❤
What an awesome video! I love hearing creative people talk about their craft. You two are so kind and supportive it was fun to be a part of it.
There is so much to love in this video! I love Sophie's forest and big soft body vases and those matte glazes pop! I would love to see more collaborations in the future. I'm looking forward to seeing the possibilities that open up with your new studio.
The abstract shapes and bold, matte colors are wonderous! I had no idea that they made matte colors in those densely pigmented colors 😲 Amazing work! Just lovely 💖 This vase shape really suits your style and allows for so many ways to reflect your creativity. I hope you make these a regular item in your shop. 😁
They’re so cute! There’s something about your psychedelic ones and all the little smiling faces that makes me think of cartoons and artwork that were around when I was a little girl, and I really, really love the vibrant colours that Sophie used. That was such a beautiful blue. I really didn’t expect it, and it was such a nice contrast to your softer colours. I really agree that the abstract ones would be something fun to play around with in the future, though. Sometimes, it’s fun to keep the finished product a surprise, even from yourself!
This collaboration was so fun! It's really neat seeing two artists' styles next to each other.
Congratulations on being completely sold out! You’re a great artist.
The colors are all so beautiful! I love them all! The shape reminds me of ancient Egyptian vessels, they're so lovely.
You both have such warm and wholesome energy, I can see why you gravitated to each other. Loved the chat, and the art was, obviously, fabulous. An uplifting watch!
I particularly loved your psychedelic mat pots and Sophie's pink pot with the flowers and the green curling stems, but they were all beautiful. That was a lovely creative way to start the day! :)
Oh my goodness! Your rainbow ones have SUCH a 70s vibe, I love them!
These are beautiful! I want the whole collection! What about Saph'fire' or Mystery Smoulder.

Love those names!!!
I have always loved this shape of vase! Reminds me of the Chinese vases with the blue on white designs!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
These are all gorgeous pieces! Glaze colours are SO wild. Even when she said it was dark blue I couldn't imagine it until we saw the results!!
That deep blue on Sophie’s vases was so amazing! Might have not been intended color buy but it’s *chefs kiss* Loved todays pieces E>
omg this immediate mutual admiration society is SO heartwarming and lovely
you are so good at conducting interviews!!! The conversation felt so natural and pleasant and it didn't seem like you were rushing to get from question to question. I'd love to see more videos like this :)
Instant follow for Sophie! I'm obsessed with the styles on all these pieces
No truer words Shelby, be true to you, in moments of doubt remember those who love what you do and support you for your work! Xx
You two are so so SO talented. Every single one of the vases you did are spectacular. All so different, but you can also see the similarities. And I think that’s because of the vase itself. And you both know color because you’re artists. Even if you don’t have formal training of color wheels and tints and hues and all that, it comes naturally to you because of your artist’s eyes. And I think you both ARE professional artists. I hope that if another piece is really inspiring that you’ll collaborate again!
Aw, my two YT faves making films and art together? As soon as the vase came out of the mould, I immediately thought- "YES, so perfect for Soph!" ✨👌The way both of you are able to wing the most pleasing colour combinations always awes and mystifies me! 🤣The abstract blob designs came out so good Shelby; the perfect compliment to Soph's dandelion lady. I got some super sweet Care Bear vibes from the happy suns and moons- would love to see more of your process of those! This was such a treat, thank you both! 💖💖💖 Mel xo

Love you Miss Mellington 💖 💖 💖 💖
What a perfect colab with a lovely artist! The two of you seem so well suited in terms of style! All the pieces were gorgeous
I really liked the vase that you cut the lip off the top. It really gives it a high end feel.
Sophie is one of my fav artists so this collab was amazing 😭🥰💕❤️💕👏
So very cute. Love the bright colors. Sunshine, rainbows and the abstracts.
People are going to be fighting over these once they get added to the shop. Well done to whoever gets in there first and grabs them
Your kiln should be THE MYSTERY MACHINE as you do mystery moulds
Ahhh 2 of my fave Aussie creators in the one video, and you both created such beautiful pieces 😍
You are both SO inspiring and two of my fave Aussie artists 🤩 Sophie’s advice was very much needed today. Thank you both so much for you beautiful souls 💜💜💜
I love seeing Collabs with different artists. You both have such colorful and happy designs! I think the pink flowers with the curvy vines vase was my favorite.
Oh wow! I LOVE both of your designs on these. You both made some of the most beautiful pieces from such a simple base. You've filled my heart with colourful joy on a dark, grey british morning!
My sister's ex named their Roomba after her (with a Jr. added on) as a joke, but I thought it was as cute as it was silly, so I think your kiln should be named Shelby Jr. 😆
Shelby! I love your ones with the mushrooms and clouds. The Mushroom style is fantastic. The Big, soft, curvy bodies! I truly love this! I, too, fit that description, and it's fabulous to see art paying homage to us voluptuous people. Thank you!
This was a really fun collab! Love what both you ladies did and can just imagine one of those little beauties on my desktop where I can see it while working. Thanks for sharing your talents with all of us. 🥰
Love this series! Beautiful work from both artists this week. Thanks!
Your abstract pieces remind me of Henri Matisse (the later years). All the vases came out beautifully and I love that shape! Hope to see this vase make a comeback.
I love seeing both of your art styles. Can't wait to see more collabs, I love seeing different art styles. I love Sophie's tips about being yourself as an artist. You both really inspire me. I love the pieces both of you made, so lovely!
Sophie's forest was my favorite of her designs. Shelby- the first on out of your kiln was darling!!!
This collaboration was really cool. Would love to be introduced to more artists!
that navy blue is incredibly gorgeous! all of the vases are stunning
So beautiful. Both Styles. I can truly imagine so many motives and possibilities... We Here in Germany are beginnung the autumn season. So ist Pumpkins, mushrooms, leaves, porcupines, acorns... Putting Something like that in the vase as sort of a Relief would be great. Christmas vase: pointsettias in White or Red with gold... Really sophisticated! And a nice present too.
The trimming of the clay is so satisfying.
Loved this. The vases all turned out gorgeous in their own ways. Lovely work, both of you!
❤❤❤ love, love, love ALL the vases that you and Sophie did! I would love to see more of both your styles together 😊
We love them all. My daughter was amazed of the magic of the kiln.
Artists supporting artists! We love to see it
Great collab, love all the pieces, especially the tree one and your abstract trio.
If you pinched the lip of one of the vases into a little pour spout, or shaped it with a paintbrush handle maybe, they might makes really cute like containers that way too. Maybe even add a handle. Just an idea because I don't understand the true physics of ceramics, shakes, and pouring, but you might have a feel for it through all your work. Very nice.
Love them all. What an awesome collaboration. Both very talented.
These are all so colorful and fun! Love both of y’all’s work 🧡
I LOVE this! I hope you do more collabs. The discussion was delightful 💚
I love when you do Collab videos! I've been watching since you started posting on KZread and I am sooo happy to see the success you have achieved. so proud of how far you have come. So excited for you to reach the milestone of mould 100 🥰❤️
Aw.. this is so heartwarming.. I love what you both did..the y remind me of ginger jars.. Thankyou for creating this colab and video.x
wow! this is amazing! I am so glad you did this collab so I can find a new cool artist to follow!! I hope you do more of these Shelby, I love it🥰
Wow! This is such a lovely video. All vases are so lovely. What colours, the whole thing is enchanting. I would love to have such imagination and talent 💕
Great video. I agree, keep true to yourself with your art. Your both great artists. Love what you did with the vases.
They all turned out so beautiful 😍
I have finally caught up to the present video and it makes me so happy but so sad because now I have to be patient to wait for the next video but I also love being able to comment in real time now. Love your videos and would watch this series being done over and over if you did it again and took suggestions of what to do with each piece again I would totally watch it 😊
I hope you do a collaboration together again, i loved it😍
Your kiln's shape reminds me of a little house, so I like to think of it as a hearth? Like a little warm place that's central to your work, like a hearth is to a home.
I loved seeing two different artists working with the same piece. very inspiring. and your kiln name... maybe Gustav Kilnt (instead of Klimt). I dunno, first thing that came to mind
I love the way that Sophies leaf one turned out, they are all gorgeous though!
This mould would also make really nice lamp bases as well as vases. You'd just need to allow some extra holes or grooves for the lamp kits
Bravo to both artists! Great collaboration! Loved it all!
Amazing collaboration! Loved them all.
This was such a lovely video with you both! Truly loved ALL the vases, they are beautiful and unique. And loved hearing you both speak about the creative process, really nice video :)
All the vases are beautiful. Love your abstract ones.
These vases look so happy.
Very pretty, but the mate ones give me chills because of the texture. haha.
Okay, a list of names inspired by songs. -Martha [for Martha and the Vandellas classic song, heatwave] -Nelly [because it's getting hot in here] -Johnny [as in Cash, Ring of Fire] Names inspired by the medium -Celene [a play on cylene] -Barbara or Babs [a play on Barbotine] -Pernadette [ a play on pernette] -Of course, you could also choose a name related to a ceramicist you love.
That was a super fun watch!
all of these are STUNNING
I love this mold! And both of you made such pretty designs! ❤️
I love the pink one from Sophie the most. Thats just my vibe. Shelby, I like your idea to cut the top lager.
the vases w/the smiley faces are so cute!
What a lovely collab!
Just love those vases.
Wow these are all so beautiful and I loved the collaboration!
Some wholesome content right here! Love both of your work!
These bold colors are magnificent
