Honestly I had a little tear. We all understand how we dreamed about super cars as kids, drove them in nfs games and such, but then later stopped playing, "grew" up, got jobs and other things. I still loved driving my car, but only recently found out that sim racing evolved so much that I just went and bought a wheel and assetto corsa, felt like a kid again. And seeing Jimmy being that one kid who never grew up, who just stayed passionate about those dreams, driving in ford gt today, makes me very happy, and makes me wonder why did I even stop. I always say this, if you just know what you are passionate about and keep at it, you will succeed at anything in life and find your way. So young kids, stay true to yourself, and maybe one day you will also drive in your dream car or pursue any other dream you have, you have one life, use it well :)

To drive a car from that era without any real experience driving older cars - that's seriously impressive! The steering inputs, braking, lack of grip from what at least seem like bias ply tires, live axle rear, massive shifter throws - it's completely different from how modern cars drive. Lots of respect here from a guy much older than you with a lot of track experience. I never would have adapted to it that quickly.

@13:30 the key takeaway with these cars is you have to control them. There's no assist or nannying available. Sort of like horse riding, you have to feel the rhythm of the car and fall in step with it. You get connected via the few inputs available and battle around the track together. It's the most visceral experience left for automotive enthusiasts to experience. In my mind I know paddle shift and automatics are faster because they have many more gears available and lighting fast shifts to stay in the peak powerband. But in my heart I can't leave manual transmissions behind. It's just another experience altogether when you're pushing a high torque v8 around corners. It's literally the only time I feel completely at peace and everything is quiet.

What a great experience, i was literally grinning the whole 30 minutes! Thank you so much for sharing! Such amazing people live on Earth, he just let you flat out his Mustang - and man, you did it with such pro driving skills, amazing to watch. You deserve every second of this dream!

That was such an awesome video. Shed dweller becomes a MAN! Honestly though, already when Alex was still in the car i was thinking to myself, that they really should try and get you in the car for a race, so man i am stoked for you how that ended up haha. This was an amazing feelgood video. Mustang AND a GT40, that double pass litteraly gave me goosebumps. As for Alex, i have to watch his channel now, he has this cheeky boyinsh enthusiasm, doesn't he. Looks like a genuinely fun lad to be around and goof with. Thank you for the video.

Alex counter steers before the car has time to even think about sliding out! Excellent watching.

Quality content as always Jimmer! Two beautiful, two guys that have a great passion and energy. Well deserved. That GT40 though i have to point out: What a car and one of my favorites aswell. I hope he lets you race that Mustang 💪

I wouldn't even DARE to touch a kerb with any of those. The masteng sounds and looks like it DEFINITELY wants you to put 4th and freaking send it everywhere. And the GT40 looks like it has so much more mechanical grip than the Mustang, even though they're contemporaneous to one another. So happy to see Sheddie Irvine just living his dreams! Love this lind of stuff Jimmer! Keep 'em comming. Cheers from Argentina 🤠

What's wild to me, is that the Windsor also served as a dependable powerplant in trucks and vans for decades. My truck 302 has over 300k kilometers on it, it's 35 years old, the heads have never been off it, and it still wants to sing whilst doing doughnuts in the snow 😂

What a great video! Im stoked for you Jimmer getting to drive these 2 iconic cars. Im with you, the GT40 Ive been in love with for so long! Since seeing it in the first Gran tourismo games on the playstation. Alex is such a dude letting you drive the Mustang and getting a ride in the GT40, that engine note is pure heavy metal! 🤘

Massive congrats, massive thank you, massive talent (actually). It’s been awesome following you develop from the troubled shed dweller into a real race car driver and accomplished likable person. You know what to do next, continue to be the best version of yourself.

15:03 I remember that clip! Also, I've loved that car ever since I got ahold of one in GT2. I decided it was just the coolest looking thing I'd ever seen... Love the GT40 so much. So awesome you go to ride in it!!!
