Honestly, creating sims in the same household to move later so you don’t have to cheat the relationship is smart. I’m gonna start doing that for my save file

If sims dont do what you'd like turn off the sims autonomy while taking the photos so they only do what you tell them too. It means no inturuptions or them deciding to do something else half way through. This was a great video though. It was really interesting to watch

You can use ravasheen's mod 'ISO love photos'. It would make a lot easier to take photos. ps.: maybe the old photos that you don't have use can be in the safekeep box, or in the attic

Love this so much! For the keepsake box you can add their wedding certificate maybe? Just thinking of things you can add. I believe you can request one through the phone, not sure if widows can but might be able to with the younger versions of them. Anyway, this is great, I love taking the time for details like photos and memories, the wedding topper is such a cute idea!

Ravasheen also has a Birth certificate Mod, about a Wedding certificate I'm unsure, if she has it. LittleMsSam also has some Certificate Mods, but idk if she has the wedding certificate as a Mod. But with UI cheats and MCCC you should be able to get the Wedding Certificate.

this is so fun to watch! I'm a very casual sims player so I've never put much effort into a save file, this inspires me to try stuff out in my game as well. I like the little lore details!

Love love love love love this! I've been slowly, so slowly, working on making a save file from scratch and have been interested in watching other Simmers' save file content, so I'm just thrilled finding this. The note taking for every little detail you can think of is so real; I've got a spreadsheet to help me keep track of things. I also love decorating my Sim's homes with family photos, it makes the save and homes feel more lived in and thought out. My usual approach is to make a temporary 'save as' save purely for photo creation for this as I find having a separate temp. save helps with all those little details like changing the Sims' ages for different life stage photos to add more lore, and not have any potential mistakes or changes to the family tree impact my main save file. Or those silly moments where other Sims get in the way to ruin the photos lmao. I'll then save all the photos, various sizes of each, on a wall and save the wall as a 'room' to my library for easy access from my main save. Downside to this method is pulling the photos into a save from the gallery loses the 'photo taken by...' info, but whatever you named the photo is retained. I'm also making community lots to take my Sims to for making those photos so they're not all completely isolated to their house lot or neighborhood. Having those community lots for different background settings makes the photos, and by extension the Sims and worlds themselves, feel more alive I think. Sorry that this is already so long, but I just have to say again that I loved watching this. I agree with other commenters that you made this very entertaining. I already feel invested in your savefile and your Sims just watching you talk about them and being so attached you try not to get choked up over them, I feel that strongly. Watching the thought process in action of creating lore is I think a pretty special thing, so thank you for sharing this with us! You helped me discover new ideas too, your idea of giving Edna the easter egg lore of a maiden name in the keepsake box is so cool, like I love that. I'll try not to make such long comments going forward lol, but I'm excited to see where you take this save! Oh! In going through my own photo walls I remembered that any Highschool Years photobooth pictures you use will show up as blank outside of your save, at least when trying to save to the gallery (idk if sharing the savefile will still black them out or retain the photo). So any of the photobooth pictures you want to save, it's a good idea to have a Sim take a zoomed in photo of that picture so you'll have a regular camera photo copy of it that will not error out.

as someone whos been roleplaying with my best friend for almost 10 years, and a sims player i absolutely LOVE this type of video, and think theres way too few of em! im 100% here to watch every single one of these you make, i love hearing others talk about their sims lore and storybuilding💗💗💗

Wow, that's awesome. I want to do the same but with the default Maxis Sims on the gallery and the Maxis Sims that already live in the worlds. I want to play with every precreated household and making more lore to it. For the photos, since you can adjust the height and direction with the arrow buttons clicking those will basically reset your ability to move the photo around freely. Then you don't have to click out of the picture

Whenever my Sim moves to a new house and he wasn't previously established there (like he's literally moving in to a new place), i like to make the house super messy with a bunch of boxes and unarranged furniture to make it look like he's still setting up the house and packing up stuff, then i slowly start to organize it in each 'Sim day'. Just an idea to make gameplay more immersive, i find it super fun ;)
