I Got SCAMMED on Facebook Marketplace for a "Rebuilt" T56 Transmission for my LS Swap

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I bought a used T56 transmission from Marketplace, turns out, it's JUNK! Seller claimed it was "rebuilt" with "0 miles"..... however it's clearly trashed. As you may know, T56s are NOT cheap so I'm out over $1000. Don't make my mistake! BMW parts and tools listed below:
Weekly videos featuring my 2018 Colorado ZR2 Diesel, 2003 Chevy Silverado ZF6 LB7 Duramax, and 1994 BMW 325is E36 LS1 T56 swap.

The T56 is a great transmission. It seems like you are having "the bad synchro" problem though. It is pretty well documented on the internets. I would find a reputable trans shop and have them tear it down.

you might have a weak master clutch cylinder, 1: try to replace clutch cylinder 2 : some clutches pressure plates need to be adjusted by shimming to have equal pushing force across clutch disc 3 : you should adjust the pedal to uper cylinder depth with the adjustment bolt behind the clutch pedal

Sorry about that man! This is whats taking my build so long, T56s are so hard to find now and people want over 2k for a used one or "rebuilt one". I'm saving up for the magnum f body t56 which is like $3500 but more peace of mind.

eeesh,...so sorry to hear this. are there any metal fragments in the oil?? if you were having difficulties getting into gear without it running i believe that would be a fork issue. oe were aluminum, iirc. there aren't detent bushings like the getrag or zf that we're more familiar with, just a detent ball which would either work or not work, so not thinking that would be the cause. manual transmissions are (sorta) easier to work on with guidance/experience than automatics, but there are still just lots of details that i myself am simply not that familiar with anymore having been out of the automotive repair gig for 20 years. i'd rather work on a differential. much more confident in my abilities with those as i am able to measure the tolerances and they are more forgiving than a trans. so yeah, i recommend the tick route as well.

I'd use a clutch alignment tool since it's apart you didn't when you assembled it (at least not on the videos) acts like my GTO did when it got low on fluid and had air in the hydraulic line. Since it was bled twice maybe the slave cylinder isn't getting enough umph for the throw or isn't releasing completely.
