    Ive had my skates for four years. My coach thinks im a ways off from needing new ones although they have couple broken eyelets. Still we just dont know what will happen with the pendemic. So i was told to get rollerskates just in case.

    your toes are supposed to touch the tip! As long as it doesn't hurt your size is fine, if you feel that it presses on your toes painfully or they curl it's best you get a size up

    I've had my Jackson's Mistuiques for almost four years now and they're still holding up pretty well. They're getting a little dirty though. But so far they're not falling apart. (Knock on wood.) when would it be time to get new skates?

  • @SparkleSkater

    @SparkleSkater

    I would recommend asking your coach, or if you do not have a coach check the stiffness of the ankle. If you can squish the ankle together with almost no pressure there is no ankle support. I would also recommend doing more research and asking a professional!

    Hey I’m a beginner and I get really worried better experienced skaters might think I’m stupid or laugh at me. Does any experience skaters ever do this or do they not pay attention to the beginners? This is the one thing that’s holding me back from trying to skate because I’m also quite chubby so I get scared people will body shame me. I just kinda want reassurance that people don’t laugh or pay attention

    Hi, I'm starting figureskating lessons upcoming saturday but I have often skated at public sessions at rinks. I can assure you that no one pays attention to you, there are all kinds of skaters on a rink from all different ages, skill levels, body types, etc. Most people are focused on themselves and not on others :> and even the more experienced skaters have fallen a lot and struggled as well, I don't think you should worry

    I do FLVS, so I can work ahead with no problems. It is just like a public school with live lessons, and book lessons just on a computer! I have been in FLVS for about 6 years now and in my opinion I have learned more than I could have in a brick and mortar school. I have also skipped grades so I am currently doing 9th/10th grade courses in 8th grade. I am currently finishing up the school year, I have one final exam left and I will be finished with all my courses! Switching to FLVS has made balancing school/skating a lot easier, because I can do school whenever I have time, morning, afternoon, or night, and I could also do lessons on Saturday and Sunday to get ahead leaving more time for my skating!

    Wondering if you noticed a big difference in upgrading from ice fly’s to pianos. Did your feet hurt? Or did you just feel like you had more support? I’m in Jackson dj5200 right now which are causing me lot of problems (heel Spurs/lace bite etc.) and want to move to Edeas. Can you over boot? I’m landing all my doubles, working on double axels and triple sals...

    Good luck with your Edea's. The leather will start falling apart in a couple of months and the boots break down quickly. I don't know what the hype is all about because these boots are not worth the money. I know from personal experience as a skater and many many many years working at a Ice Rink.

    I have had 3 pairs of edea skates before this one, and each of them have lasted me 2 years. I have never experienced them falling apart or peeling. I still have my last two pairs of skates and they work perfectly fine and they still look presentable. Sure they do have many scratches but that is because of my blade and nothing major to call “falling apart”. The “big deal” about them, is sure they are expensive but they are GREAT quality. After two years they still support my ankle like they are brand new and they are very comfortable, and on top of that I usually skate 12 hours a week working on doubles and triples. I have loved all 3 pairs of my edea skates before these, and I don’t see why I would not love these.
