I Got My Dream Job As A VFX Artist - ft. Danny Gevirtz
Фильм және анимация
This is the story of working on the CGI and VFX for his feature film "I Think I'm Sick"... this is that story.
All of the 3d was done in Blender, the compositing and VFX was done in Nuke Foundry, the color and post processing was done in Davinci.
Hope you love the episode.
Thank you Danny for the memories.

as a VFX Student, this video is making me believe that i will pull off my VFX Project 100%..... What a crazy video... you could achieve this much in that much time..
bro mentioned birdemic and instantly felt a connection to him because I know damn well he probably first heard of that from corridor crew haha. that being said, as a fellow freelance vfx artist this is really inspiring and i love how you detailed your journey with this video working on the movie. Huge Danny fan myself and I've yet to see the movie but getting this behind the scenes taste of what's to come really inspired me. Great job man.

To say Nuke is hard is an understatement. Have taken 2 courses and now on the third one and still don't feel like I fully understand Nuke!
Love you bro😍😍its really inspirational
Yoo!! Lets go 🔥🔥
I appreciate watching your videos, they are just so inspirational. I've just started reading Ultralearning by Scott Young and just realized how many different Ultralearning projects you have taken on. Being able to learn hard things completely from scratch, it really is inspiring. I want to do the same as you.
this is so funny, been watching you for a while and had no clue your also an artist lol.
Inspiring video! It would be interesting to see more content about your VFX process in future projects
Blown away by your skill but also by your patience and dedication to your craft. It's truly admirable, I'm sure you made Danny proud!

The patience was probably the hardest part haha, thanks man!
beautiful.
Bro, these situations are like growing on steroids... all skills gained in compressed time frame! So, advice to newbies: "Is blender hard? How much does it take to learn it?" - just get some basic skills in Blender and then jump into "scary" project, then realize your true worth as an artist, fail and rise again - and here is your growth! Awesome effort and dedication, man! I wish you more challenging project in future!
I was having a bad mood but watching this video made me enthusiastic and inspired once again, thanks bro , also the vfx was great , I'm also and early vfx artist .
This is sick, you are inspiring many
Amazing work man
Bro congrats! So proud of you and it was dope seeing you at the Portland premiere, it didn’t even cross my mind that the geese and maverick were CGI 🤯 you crushed it!
This is amazing! Seeing you adapt to the adversities you face is inspiring and entertaining. I have been learning blender for like 3 months now. I have struggled a bit and I was curious if you have any recommendations on youtube channels that have helped you? Or maybe any tips in general? Thanks keep it up!

Props!! Its great to see that young people like you (19) try new things and discover themselves spiritually and mentally. (im 17 myself) since you've said that you would read all comments in a previous video, imma shoot my shot here (since i usually don't write comments). so i'm from germany and i have heard about that "zettelkasten" method where you write things on something that's actually called "kartei karte" in german. so i started to use that method and it makes total sense scientifically and it helps a lot REALLY! but i have 1 problem with the method you showed, its the "connection" part and every time i write something to remember i struggle to come up with a connection. if you have nothing against it, could you show some of your "zettelkasten" because this will be the easiest way to understand how exactly to do them (or explain it again in here). i'm sure it will help A LOT of people who want to implement that to their lives. PS: much respect man you are way further that people in their 30s!!

The effort you put in this project is so great I don't know if anyone can comprehend. That 3rd shot is hell on earth for VFX artists. I don't know why Danny did not called a VFX supervisor during the shooting. Just some tracking markers or shooting in log/raw could have benefited you a lot better. You did great and way beyond what a normal VFX is willing to do. That 3rd shot will give me nightmares ahaha
This is so great and amazing time spent learning a new software 😮 but honestly I would have paid a Geese handler fed them in the water and just did that take a whole bunch of times till I got the shot 😅 but big ups to the effort!!

@@State-Of-Mind I guess it's the matter of budget, time and what would look best visually. VFX has opened our minds to see what is just not possible practically. All for it if it's done really well and that just takes lots of time.

10 hours to hand track was less than I expected. I've spent more time hand rotoscoping a 7 second shot in Mocha.
My dream job 😢. Has to quit and fall For corporate. Make more than I prob would in vfx but my heart is not there. Sadly reality is not as plain as following dreams and happiness. Enjoy it my friend! Live the dream for the rest of us.
Hi, I’d just like to say that you’ve convinced me to use your sirianni notes method. You see, I’m creating a schedule where I do homeschool 7 days a week and 2 days worth of working everyday for a year to graduate as fast as possible. And this will take the usage of memory techniques such as the memory palace, spaced repetition, pomodoro method, and likely more alongside yours now, thanks for the technique

Wow! Good job! You hard work is inspiring.
Your learning methods are INCREDIBLE ! Im a 3d character and background modelling supervisor and have worked on many films, games. commercials VR etc... And I have never seen anyone in my 23 years in the industry do that with no knowledge of VFX in that many compact days and plus using NUKE ! Totally impressive ! I will watch more of your learning methods and will try to apply it. But just letting you know VFX is super tough and lots of rinse and repeat. I suggest you learn to trade the stock market / trading options. Will want to see your skill tested in there because there is emotions and patience at play and I am sure you will make a lot of money ! if you overcome it :)

Also do you have a good book recommendation about something that blew your mind.
I thought you were 23 or 25...btw you are amazing🎉
Hey, could you elaborate why you had to use Nuke?
When you said that scene wasn't trackable I screamed "frame by frame!" and died laughing when you did it. Should've been a coder or a lawyer or something, you wanna be a VFX artist? There you go. Btw you don't have to pay 12k for nuke if you know what I mean😉
