On behalf of all the women, we thank you guys for addressing this very serious and unfortunately very common issue. You are helping educate the society on how we need to speak up and not be embarrassed to take a stand. If we keep speaking about this hopefully men will think twice before doing such things.

Aunty and Uncle, thank you so much for standing up for all of us. I can't tell you how many times we were teased this way when visiting Pakistan and often our own family members questioned us about our dressing or behavior instead of correcting or calling out these boys or men. Or we were told to stay quiet and don't bring up the fact that you were harassed by someone in front of your own family or friends. One thing I would note here because it comes up often in Desi contexts and that is, before anything or anyone else we are women or girls whether we are someone's sisters or mothers comes second. I am making this distinction because in Desi cultures we think by personalizing women and referring to them as someone's sister or mother we will force these men to see the faults in their behavior. But instead it turns us into "others" and "less than men" in comparison. Better questions to ask these men would be, how would you feel if every time you stepped out of the house you felt unsafe? Or people invaded your personal space, stared at you up and down, or touched you or groped you? These thirsty men would say oh that would be a treat. To that I would ask, would it still be a treat if someone opposite of your sexual orientation and clearly perverted and sick did that to you? Or you were chased or followed by someone clearly undesired by you, would it still be fun? What if this was your daily reality until this point in life and will continue to be until the day you die, would you want your life to be like that?

It's good to take Action at once no matter what Case it is

Every woman single or married should stand up for their right. I never let it go and if its wrong it's wrong and needs to be addressed right there and then. We once had someone harass us in Lahore Zoo many years ago infact he was quite obscene. We made a racket and people gathered and the man was caught by the guards and beaten on the spot. We were asked to slap him too but l did not wish to touch him even for that. They put kalak on his face and kicked him out...

Being an overseas Pakistani when we visit our country these things bother us a lot and its very irritating. I think what happen here is all 3 of them are illiterate and when they saw you making video they just got excited as to them its funny and something out of this world. So they acted this way and might not have any intention of harassment. This happen a lot and its very common in Pakistan especially when you are recording.
