That looks nice. But personally, my mind would always be somewhere along the lines of "don't drop this transmitter", or "don't set this on the ground while I'm checking my car". Not to mention after I get a car set up the way I like, I pretty much never change it again.

It’s Spektrum’s attempt to answer to the RadioMaster MT12, $130usd. I’m switching all of my cars and trucks to my MT12 running Express LRS protocol.

You know a rugged version of this will come soon and cost a band. 😂….cool idea but the price tag is insane. Only thing missing on it is cell phone service.

Hall effect is honestly the biggest feature of them all. It’s definitely contributing to the price. The traditional system is called ALPS. It’s actually got a very convenient RC parallel. ALPS are essentially brushed systems. They use potentiometers with brushes that physically wear down over time. Poorly made ones will give false positives, which is the leading cause of stick drift on gaming controllers. Hall effect sensors are the brushless motors of controller sensors. They use magnetic fields to determine the position and have no parts that physically touch to wear out. They’re also more precise than ALPS.

ALPS isn't a "system"... It's a brand of potentiometer, and a very good one at that.

Looks exactly like my DX6R screen and menus. Wonder if the DX6R can be updated with that software. Prob not. LOL

No it's not going to use the same app as the dx6r according to nick malato. This is his answer Raquel Vz the Verdi of Raceware is used is specific to the iXSR. And it will be updated when we have new stuff to add to it…

That price point is shockingly high. There’s too much competition from the likes of Radiomaster and Flysky that make great controllers with the same pro features for half the price to be asking $700.

It should come with at LEAST 12 channels for THAT price!

Its nice for sure but I think I would choise a noble over anything else right now for value and functionality.

I quit spektrum radios when a firmware update for my dx6 caused a circuit to blow out. I called to see if they could help me out and they offered to let me pay to ship it and pay to have it repaired! For $700 I got a lot of other things I'd rather do. Plus ever try using a touch screen in the rain? It sucks.

I’ve bound this to my XRT, X-Max, SCX6 and a few others. It’s one radio to rule them all IMHO. Yea, it’s expensive but I see a lot of wasted money on unnecessary mods too, but to each their own. It’s a phenomenal radio, hall sensors with outstanding features. It’s’ a win after using it for a couple of weeks.

Shoot I wish I can't afford that one forreal for real 699.99 plus the 60 bucks for the warranty that costs more than a TV and my monthly rent my guy lol great remote though lol😂

Nice Mark, I'm glad to see Spektrum came back out with a high end race capable radio and i'm now planning on getting one and starting to convert to Spektrum TX\RX next year although it's extremely expensive radio. My last TX was a Radiolink RC8X which i had big hopes for but ended in disappointment and wasted money i could have used to get either an Arrma Vendetta or a DX5C.

Great video, Mark...as one would expect...and, I'm sure it'll sell well. But, for that price, there are equally-good options for less money. I even paid less for my Futaba 7PX. For anyone who's "locked themselves" into the Spektrum SMART ecosystem, this is virtually guaranteed to "check off all their boxes". But, for half the price, one can get the FlySky Noble Pro+...and, for 1/3 the price, they could get the FlySky Noble NB4+, or RadioMaster MT12. Not saying the iXSR isn't good...just that other equally good, more 'universal' (ie. not "SMART ecosystem"), less expensive options exist. Again, I'm sure it'll sell well...but, whether, or not, it sells as well as Spektrum is banking on remains to be seen.

Looks like my old dx6r but in a noble case. Not sure if this will replace my dx5 pro and rugged. You should only need the 5.5 for 2 ch racing. Bashing or crawling with telemetry the 11 is plenty.

Mark, you didn't see their previous version, looked almost identical..i have the older version and went through the manual of this Only difference is the lights on outside some cosmetic changes and new updates to the operating system, such as launch control and the ability to use the promoto ..

I like some of my Spektrum radios so am no hater but for that price I would not be happy with 6 channels and that plasticky look. Doesn't look a patch on the build quality of a Noble tbh for tons more money. Kinda like the novelty of it having android, but would also be slightly wary about whether that could cause signal issues if android misbehaves, depending how it's been designed between the TX module itself and the android integration.

It's a fail for me... I have many Spektrum radios, have been a happy user for nearly 2 decades... I hope the DX5 Pro stays around or gets a refresh eventually, but I DO NOT want a touch screen android interface... No thanks, for 700 I'll buy a 4PM plus, or MT-5, a couple extra receivers, and dinner... Cheers

A lot of folks around here say the same thing but they seem to have 4 or 5 $100-200 radios. Personally I prefer quality over quantity and being able to bind 250 models, I should be good. I agree the price is high, but ya’ll act like we don’t spend that “modding” perfectly acceptable RTRs before we even drive them.

They were trying to come out with this like 5 or 10 years ago. Super low latency. A few folks got theirs hands on it. I tried to find one. Kinda mad they come out now after I bought a futaba. Pffft. Spectrum has always been wanky. Never consistent with their releases.
