Even in Italy, landlords are rejecting Nigerians. We as Nigerians also need to play our part by being responsible, law-abiding and respectful representatives of our country wherever we go.

Im an Algerian living in dubai , and some of the best friends I have here in dubai are from Nigeria , I remember once I had an accident and there were some Nigerian pedestrians arround and they did their best to help me stand back on my feet and took me to hospital and pharmacy , I will never forget their favour

The issue is that some Nigerians don't know how to behave themselves and this is affecting others, u can imagine going to another Country and misbehaving. My bro got denied a Visa too and he was going for a football scouting in Abu Dhab, they also banned Nigerians from entering Abu Dhabi

I had an experience here in the US, I found a wallet on a street in NYC, wallet had bunch of money, credit/debit cards, i.ds of all kinds, social security card. Obviously, it fell from the pocket of someone unknown to them, Cars were running across the wallet, I picked it, took to the police, they took my details and got in contact with the owner; owner was already going crazy. They invited him to get his wallet, he got there, he checked his wallet and demanded to see me so as to appreciate me in words and cash. I told the police to tell him that he shouldn't border about giving me something. I only told them to tell him "Am from Nigeria"..and that's how we do, I did it not to get appreciated but because it's the right thing to do. Wherever we find ourselves, let's try to promote this Nigerian brand.

I saw a Nigerian too that picked money in dubai and said na Almighty did keep it for him to keep.imagine !!! .Poverty worldview and lack of good home training. My view All the same u did well more by denying being rewarded in kind ,it still shows u have a perception that man's life doesn't consist in abundance of what he has .

I’m an Emirati and I’ve met/studied with amazing Nigerian people abroad in USA. Unfortunately the incident you included is only one of many cases in Dubai. I don’t know how this came to be but a lot of workers coming from Nigeria or on visit visas would participate in gang activities and theft here in Dubai. As this issue progressed the government took that unfortunate decision of making it difficult for men of that age group to enter Dubai. On the other hand there is many Nigerian workers I interact with daily and they are hard working honest people and always extremely well mannered.

What I'm certain about is that the good Nigerians will not live amongst Nigerian neighborhoods in South Africa because of dodgy staff happening there..They won't even dare raise their children especially the girl child in those communities and that's how bad things are..Nigerians need to be honest in acknowledging the reason why other countries are not comfortable living amongst them without being in denial , defending themselves, blaming other countries giving them all sorts of names by pointing out the obvious problems.. The values , attitude and general conduct of any visitor xuld be acceptable and in comfort with the host..

I have been in South Africa for the last five years before making a decision to go back home to Malawi. Above 90% of Nigerians in South Africa are either selling drugs or doing online scams. Even a traffic officer advised me not to buy a car from any Nigerian Car Dealership because most of the cars are having criminal offenses that might get me into trouble. What you have experienced is sad because you had a good cause for going to Dubai. I just wish Nigerians could start behaving themselves well in other people's countries. However, there are more Nigerians that are doing bad things than those who are travelling for a good cause. I wish all the best Tayo. Blessings.

I feel your pain Tayo. It's sickening to see Nigerians being stereotyped. The percentage of Nigerians in diaspora who do these wrong things are small, yet when people hear Nigeria, negative things comes to mind. I attended an engineering event yesterday in London and I was so shocked to see 90% of the speakers are Nigerians. These are Executive Directors and top managers in multinationals, yet it's the few percent of the bad Nigerians that the world sees.

Unfortunately, once you've had that one bad experience you keep your guard up and when you hear about similar incidents it only adds to your prejudice.

I don't mean to offend Nigerians, but the problems caused by Nigerians are happening almost all over the world, for example in Japan, specifically in Shinjuku and Kabukicho, where a lot of Nigerians have been arrested because of burglary cases and riots. Another examples happenin a third world country, (Indonesia) where a diplomat was arrested for resisting immigration officials when asked for a report and riots occurred at the Nigerian embassy in Jakarta. I know not all Nigerians are like that but small things like that can damage the image of your country and your own people. I know your feelings styrotype by other countries like this I also feel it because I am a Muslim who is always styrotype as an terrorist

This is really sad! However, it is fair and necessary for us (Nigerians) to look inward first and admit that we put ourselves in this condition. Thank you for telling the truth. I love my dear Nigerian family. I am a Canadian/ Ghanaian and I know that Nigerians and Ghanaians are always together, but I will say one thing to Nigerians. Please you guys should work hard to make your country look good. instead of always disgracing the country. Your behaviour is not acceptable. Taking millions of dollars from innocent people will always make the country look bad. The majority of us Africans are very good and hard working people. There's no perfect country on Earth. There is no country that doesn't do bad things, but what you guys do is too much, you shouldn't be too greedy. Life is tough for everyone. Please let us make Africa and her people look good. I am Zimbabwean , and I know a lot of good Nigerians . It's not just about that video you see that Dubai Denies Nigerian people visas . 90% of the time when there is a scam or crime that happens in Dubai there is a Nigerian , most of the ladies (street walkers) are Nigerian . This has damaged the reputation of Nigeria , Nigerians struggle to get jobs or even open a bank account . It's high time people see the true Nigeria , show some positive achievements , and everyone else should stop assuming

Hushpuppi isn't the only scammer in the entire world. Why is what he did or didn't do affecting hundreds of millions of innocent Nigerians who had no part in his alleged crimes? America had a president who tried to overthrow the government of his duly-elected successor in a violent insurrection on January 6, 2021. Does Dubai issue a blanket ban on white Americans coming to their country because of the actions of that one man? It is not a good excuse. I am a South African and I have a lot of friends from different African countries including Nigeria. I have also had the opportunity to travel to other African countries. Unfortunately some Nigerians here have really stained the reputation of hard working Nigerians especially with the drug dealing, prostitution issues. A lot of South Africans were understandably very upset when we lost our UK visa free status, which many attributed (whether justified or not) to Nigerians using fraudulent South African documents to get to the UK. It's really bad PR for Nigeria as much as Xenophobia is for our country. Hopefully someday all these stereotypes will be a thing of the past. Everyone should just behave accordingly and respect the laws when visiting or residing in other countries. It's not that difficult.

Will the Government follow Criminals to apply for Visas?.. I think rather that it's the individual Embassies that should do greater screening of potential Visitors to their Countries, and through a process of Interview, determine the suitability or otherwise of their Applications. The UK, USA & other European countries do screen before granting Visas!!

First off, I'm so glad to had come across this video. I'm a Nigerian Residing in Dubai, the stigmas and stereotypes placed on Nigerians here is crazy and unthinkable. Though there are valid reasons behind them, but as you said We not the worst people in the world, cause we have other nationalities committing same offenses Nigerians are committing, even worse. Unfortunately people see it differently when its coming from a black person, not to mention a Nigerian, then it will make the headlines. Racism still exist in Dubai. And its saddening. I worked at the just concluded event, EXPO2020 DUBAI, which i saw in the video. People get to enjoy my company and conversations and they'd want to know where I'm from which I'd tell them, I'm from Nigeria, then they'd stop talking to me. I then asked myself, even if we are the worst people on earth, at least meeting one good person from there shouldn't make a different? But seeing the way some of our people behave here sickens me. Mentioning some certain sets of people would be rude, I'm just gonna generalize it. Our people here lack courtesy and public etiquette. Even the ones employed misbehave on duty, not all though, some. We just need to educate ourselves of these things, cause we are so used to rough life living mentality that people still have to travel/migrate with it. Bringing cultism to another country is just way out of it, just to mention few. I was even planing on opening a Vlog on KZread here and also on TikTok. Just to educate our people in diaspora how to behave and adapt to their new environment/home.

Well all you said here is nothing but the truth. But let me start here, up till today I still believe that the bureau de change robbery by some Nigerians back then actually exposed Nigerians to these people, Arabians don't forgive easily. Then our people after then, hmmmmm Just like you said, trying to point fingers at some certain people can only make it worse because we know how we make defence in this country (religion, tribe, ethnicity, politics etc) Even in all the accommodations I have stayed alone, I see how these people do things and give the I don't care attitude, in a state where alcohol is illegal, you just see them litre everywhere with alcoholic cans and bottles right from the top roof to the first floor, selling hard 💊, abortion 💊, robbing Arabs of their valuables through prostitution, how many can we even mention, then "CULTISM" 😭😭. I have seen some grocery stores complaining of how our people spend fake money to them, seriously I don't understand how they go about all these things, even using fake plate numbers in the country like that. I notice we try to use the excuse of not being the only bad country in there, but the fact remains that they have better and robust relationship with these other countries especially Pakistan 🇵🇰 India 🇮🇳 and Bangladesh 🇧🇩. Some other African countries now claim Nigerian when caught in an act since they know that's the focus, only to get to know they lied after seeing their papers. I actually left the country when I noticed that's not the place for me, I am an easy going person but if care is not taken anyone can be implicated. I was lucky to escape a raid on my accommodation sometimes ago, all those found inside that day were parked and some never returned till I left. I still believe the best way to help us as a nation is for the UAE 🇦🇪 government to help punish culprits of any crime accordingly.

thank you, my brother, I feel you but there is much to this than the way people perceive Nigerians in Dubai, Dubai makes more money from Nigeria than the rest of the Africans, I can say if the problem is about bad Nigerians, the Dubai govt. knows them and they can deal with the bad ones separately, why deny the good ones work permit on the basis of what the bad ones did? why keep approving tourist visas if you don't want Nigerians? why return the convicted ones back to Dubai when they can deport them, why is our govt. not saying anything to the Dubai govt over this? i know we need to do better out there but enough of pointing all the blames on our citizen. first I will say people judge Nigerians based on the negative things they read and see in the media they don't care about the good ones. I also live in Dubai I noticed any bad news from a black man is attached to a Nigerian like we are the only black nation in Dubai. i feel that segregation is more in Dubai than the rest of the world which is a result of Arabs Racism. Nigerians still remain the best black nation here in Dubai but we are been quickly judged by the bad ones they see and forget the good ones also exist. is there any nation that doesn't have good and bad people? I can tell you the atrocities the Asians e.g. Pakistan and Indians commit here in Dubai are more than the Nigerians but they won't talk about it. I've seen videos and comments from the reasonable ones who get close to Nigerians talk good things and said we are still the best black nation so I'll hold to that positivity and leave the negative ones.

I'm An African (Ugandan), I must inform you one thing! Dubai is a free city with an extreme multi cultural environment. However, you must respect the Emirati culture of peace and non violence. Avoid handling misunderstandings in a radical but rather in a humble and systematic way. Energy doesn't solve misunderstandings in Dubai. Also the mentality of yahoo boys and making quick money from the city is a no no. When high expectation of lies meets the harsh reality, people find it depressing and looking for options. It NEVER works in Dubai. Try learning the system first before u get dissapointed. All public have the nigerian stereotype because of NOT willing to adapt to the new system.

Nigerians are just bein stigmatized for no reason.true there are so many that are criminally minded,they are a handful.si many other nationalities too are involved in heinous crimes,but they won't hammer it ,it's only Nigerians that they stigmatize.it stems from the fact that the West finds Nigerians very intelligent, hardworking,and we also have enterpreneural skills which they don't want in any black man.they believe nothing good comes from a black man but Nigerians excel in all fields of endeavours so they are afraid of our country.they are the ones distabilizing our country so we won't move forward bcos they don't want it.but I tell you we will emerge again and they will be shamed .that is when we at home learn not to vote for mediocrity and bad leaders bcos of the bribe they will offer but vote for good and visionary leaders,not leaders who will say presidency is a life long ambition that they have been nursing.those type of leaders dont have anything to offer but failure. I have a saying. "Those who are determined to love me will see no wrong in me. Those who are determined to hate me will see no good in me." As African Americans...we also face stereotypes. One Black person can do something wrong and the whole group is expected to bear the burden. I remember speaking to a middle aged Hispanic woman once who told me she didnt like Black people because someone Black bullied her in elementary school. So for 40+ years she harbored that feeling toward Black people because of something one Black person did to her! Anyway...I think we have to develop the stance of Nehemiah (in the Bible). Keep doing the work. Keep working for change. Dont let the naysayers stop you from making your people...your country a better place.

I think by now the stereotypes are global.. am from south Africa. Thank you for speaking up against those Nigerians that do bad things, but if we sweep the deeds of those that do bad "Nigerians" in this case we won't help the situation as it's now a global issue. If we speak up against it more and admit certain things... I think it will help the situation. The best way to cure, is to admit there is a trend and something needs to be done.

Concerning the work permit it has been so for more than a year and and a lot of Nigerians have lost jobs or unable to get new jobs because of this and it is really sad. . I got rejected for a Tanzania visa few weeks ago. And I commented to a friend yesterday that I now understand why lots of Africans simply go to Dubai- the visa process is hassle free and nobody ever gets rejected. HAHAHA and then today I see that Tayo of all people got rejected for Dubai visa:):) Massive props to you bro for persevering and getting through in the end!!!

As sad as this is, I'm almost relieved that it's not only South Africans who don't see it for Nigerians. It seems Nigerians that leave Nigeria go out to cause chaos everywhere they go. Of course its not all of them, but the ones that do, they cause enough damage.

Unfortunately Nigerian have a terrible reputation. The ones that do bad, they do really scary and terrible things. Scary enough to not want any Nigerians around. Stereotyping is still wrong.

Google says we are just 30,000 there and I couldn't believe it, even if you add illegals I don't think we would surpass 100,000 there and I thought we were like millions there, so this keeps me wondering what they have against us.

Please stop. Nigerian need to do better. If everyone doesn't want anything to do with you, then you're the problem. Most countries in the world don't want Nigerians in their countries. And this is based on thier own individual experiences with Nigerians. They need to start taking accountability for thier actions. Those who don't commit crime, enable it or don't condemned it. They need to fix themselves.

I had a similar experience a few months ago. The sad thing about these "blanket rejections" is that honest people with good intentions to visit a country and explore are being profiled and refused entry for no fault of their own.

I am not Nigerian but very proud of the positive work and image that you and a host of other African content creators and professionals put out there. I am really sorry that you had to go through what you did. It should be noted though that it is the primary responsibility of these countries to protect their citizens at all cost( unlike most African countries). I am sure that their decision to target an age range of a particular country is based on data and not random. Their country is a tourism hotspot partly because of safety/security and nothing is going to impede that success, even if it means innocent people like yourself being impacted. The problem lies squarely on our brothers and sisters who choose a life of crime, caring less as to how it affects others.

This is why Africa has to build for itself. You don't see Emiratis spending all their money and resources in Nigeria. Dubai was a desert 30 years ago and look at what they've done in that time frame. You had every right to attend this event Tayo.

The only thing I would say is that it is easier to do so when you have a complete monarchy with a dubious human rights record and less than 2 million Emirate population and with pretty unlimited oil resources. That said all African countries should do the utmost to make sure that all African citizens can live a dignified and fulfilling life on our continent.

Alot Nigerians here in kenya have run away with airbnb rent money. I am a victim. Lost money to a number of them that i thought we had created some sort of friendship since we are age mates. Not to mention their involvement in drugs and drugging naive kenyan ladies. They have really left a bad image here. Lots of complaints in police stations. But all the same i refuse to stereotype and judge all Nigerians as bad. I have met a good number of good ones. We still keep in touch months after going back home. One love Nigeria 🇳🇬 ❤️

Look, there are bad eggs all over Africa. I've had bad experiences with Kenyans in Dubai as well but it's not right to generalize a whole nation based on the bad experiences you had with a few people. I know a Kenyan girl who told me that a Nigerian kept her in his apartment when she had no where to stay here in Dubai and never for once tried to touch her. He will let her sleep in the room and manage the couch in the living room just so she would feel comfortable. She claims he's the kindest person she ever knew. We just have to learn to separate the bad eggs from the good ones besides Nigeria is the most populated country in Africa we have more people i.e more good and bad. Let's embrace ourselves as Africans. I see a lot of Africans slandering in the comments as well as in real life and it makes me sad. It's sad to see these things happening to us. we face so many rejections here in Dubai. See, in Dubai, you're African it's bad, you're Nigerian it's even worse. The work permit issue is a huge problem people are facing and even in some of their Emirates, they don't employ Nigerians. A lot of my friends completed their contracts last month, their employer had to terminate their contracts renewal based on the fact that they could not fix their work permit. It's a lot. We try not to justify those bad acts but if you go back and watch the video, you'll find out that they are not only Nigerians but here we are, a lot of innocent Nigerians paying for their bad acts. I'm currently at the verge of losing my job but i don't feel bad to be honest.... I efficiently and diligently delivered my duties besides, Nigeria is always my home, I'll go home.

Sadly enough, 8 out of 10 times, when I hear SA talk about other Black Africans especially Nigerians, I'm jarred by the level of hate they seem to have. Of course, not all South Africans are like that, but I could go to a video about Nigerians - could be a video about food or music - and there will be those hateful comments singling out Nigerians with the commenter so proud to say they are Africans. Hello readers, I worked in Dubai few years and just returned home Nigeria. The mentality of quick rich syndrome and other criminalities among some Nigerians are frightening. Nigerians felt that u can't cheat or intimidate them which is good but they apply it in criminal acts. Other national especially Asians commit crime too but they value life of their victims. Some Nigerian criminals don't. Those in street deals kill with out thinking the potential consequences. Other national resent Nigerians mostly on account of wasting life , habaaa. This thing they call being smart atimes means to be criminal minded. Nigerians equally dupe themselves with reckless abandon. I was in a random questioning at my residence which has 98% of other nationals, police stated that Nigerians are troublesome when they got to know identity. My company going concern was badly threatened because a Nigerian surreptitiously hijacked the company and left . Our ladies too are not left out. In all sincerity to uae 🇦🇪 they are trying to descalate it before it affects the minds of potential tourist audience that dubai is infested with criminals. We.all know the huspuppy saga that put uae in bad light globally. However , we have many Nigerians that are sought-after in many fields because of their seriousness and dedication. Our problem starts from us and only us can effect a desired change . Be a good ambassador of Nigerian where ever you go.

There are so many things happening in the US and no one has ever used that to judge Americans. Everyone is so quick to stereotype Nigerians, especially some Africans. We could see the power tussle between the UAE and Nigeria. All what these people want is a timid and Nigeria is not ready for that. We saw UK placed like 8 African countries on COVID restriction until they added Nigeria and Nigeria retaliated. They should keep stereotyping us, make Dem continue. Na their wahala

We need our governments to stand up to these bullies..And I am happy Nigeria has stood up to UK and UAE..In UAE, they have many Nigerians with expired visas.. and especially in Sharjah..What is UAE doing about that? Why not enforce your laws? They won’t..they use most of them as cheap underground labour..but when they commit crimes, they come to complain..Hypocrites!!

Tayo, you have a platform and i know have done this before, please encourage your Nigerian brothers(especially) to respect other countries laws. It can't be that the world is complaining about Nigeria and all Nigerians say is the it's just " a few rotten apples". And don't compare yourselves with others on bad actions, take accountability for Nigerians actions. If 1000 poisonous snakes out of 100,000 attack you, there won't be any time to check which ones are poisonous and which ones are not. You will kill anyone that approaches for your safety. So please, also understand the position those few Nigerians put the countries through. All the best.

My friend was rejected 3 times. Still doesn't know why. He was told by the agent it was because of his age (22) & single. Also because he had never travelled before. After seeing your video I'm sure it was because he was a 22 year old Nigerian.

My question becomes how do you deny someone based on the actions of a few. Most of the Nigerians I met in Abu Dhabi were hardworking individuals.
