Thanks for sharing your unboxing! I’ve had one for a three weeks now here in the UK and I’m blown away by how much fun it is to use. It’s essentially a S7 mixer with smooth echo and pretty cool vinyl emulation with very useful displays in the centre. I was also surprised by how much better the pre-amps are compared to my 1000srt. I cut up some qbert butter rugs to replace the plastics slip mats and it’s much better for scratching now. Also - line your stickers with the notch and it’s a lot easier to re install the plastic tops of the platters.

That intro song with the Timelapse brings me back to your old OG videos

REV7 was geared towards DJ's with turntablist roots hence the very slick vinyl feel. I remember we used to buy butter rugs to get them crazy slippery.

The reason there isn’t a center click on the tempo slider is for accuracy. Older dj turntables had that, and DJs found mixing close to it to be difficult bc the click would throw off any fine tuning. This is why it was removed on later turntables and why the reset button was introduced. REV7 mirrors the precision control found on modern DJ turntables. Also, regarding the 1/4” booth output, the ports take less space internally, but because they are TRS, they provide the same advantages as a full XLR connection when you use them with a proper TRS cable or adapter. XLR to TRS short cables can be found as low as $4 each (small enough to keep in your coffin); and you can use them with existing XLR cables.

I have heard the 1000 case fits the rev 7, 28.87 vs 27.87 wide / 15.05 deep vs 14.23 deep. Power flex would be if it fits in my Rane one case, that no longer has a Rane one in it. Sold it. Bought an S7 and Rane 12 ;)

great video when using the lav mic put it in the middle of ur shirt rather than to the side you will get the sound equal on both sides and a bit more of the high end in ur voice

That does look nice for scratchin! I upgraded to a Roland 808 DJ four channel controller for my bday in November, from the Rane 62 & 2x CDJ1000s. The 4 drum machines aren't really usable for weddings except to redrum old tracks live, but I like it for parties with my live musician buddies. The voice box is fun too lol. So there's only 3 onboard fx? You can't switch it up via Serato?

You can use serato effects but I believe you have to trigger with key board

Is there a needle search or needle drop function for the REV7. I love using the needle drop function which allows me to quickly get to any portion of a song quickly.

Had mine for about 2 weeks in the SC

Wondering how the sound card are? I had an SZ and the sound card didn't push my speakers at all now I have the XDJ-XZ and they push my speakers excellent.

Hi there! I have had a Rev7 for about 2 weeks now and I have had an issue with marker drift when beat juggling. My marker starts at 12 O'clock and after about a dozen juggles ends up at 1 O'clock. This happens even with the instant scratch beat loop without a laptop plugged in. So it can't be a Serato issue. Have you noticed this same issue? Thanks!

The audio recording level was lower than the videos that you use the Cannon G7x Mark III vlog style. Also are you still going to make a video comparing all of the column array speakers available???

iPhone 13 user and when I put the phone in landscape mode all the sound goes to the left lol

Hello everyone, while using my Pioneer Rev 7 and DJ at an event, one of my turntable had something pop up setting saying "Thru" on it. It wouldn't allow me to upload the next track. I had a lot of people pissed off with me. I couldn't work out what i pressed for this to happen so i had to turn the equipment off and on for it to work properly. How can I avoid this in the future? Thanks

Hey DJ Rick Web, when watching your video, your left channel is completely 1000% louder than the right. At least on my iPhone, it creates unequal sound when watching in landscape. Just thought you should know. Great content though! :) Re: Just realized there are multiple reports of this. Sorry for essentially the same comment.

You need to record mic audio in mono. That’s most likely the issue

When I beat juggling on the DDJ Rev 7 the platters will slowly lose track of the song. I can start with my sticker at 12 o'clock. In 30 seconds or less the song starts at 2 o'clock. Rick do you have the same issue?

Haven't tested that out yet. Have to give it a try I had just been doing simple scratch drops.

as far as the sound of your mic, it's panned all the way to the left, otherwise it would probably sound fine.

What’s the point of the needle stickers?especially considering that they don’t follow the serato needle.

Turntables

The pitch location looks a little awkward up there, kinda like how it is on a turntable on battle style mode. Seems uncomfortable having to reach over the deck. I wonder how it would feel at the end of a 6 hour party. Any comments?

I use my rane 12s in battle style at all me events. Never had an issue after a long night.

its a small unit and unlike real turntables no tone arm to dodge. The only issue you would have is if your someone who "rides the pitch" while mixing but i guess this unit is aimed at a different kind of dj...,

@@djrohan_presents .. yup aimed at turntable djs for turntable djs and anyone else who likes turntables and that style of djing it wasn’t made for the regular controller Dj but yet those are the ones who are doing the most complaining about it 🤣

@HollywoodTheDj I haven't touched a turntable since 2003 and never considered myself a turntabelist anyway... and I don't scratch much either on my controllers. I pre-ordered the Rev 7 the day it was available. No complaints here! Well one, I do wish it had a cue button, but I'll get over that!😂

@@cardaleh9284 .. you will get use to it fast the more you mess with it glad yours is working great I see some other videos where some may have had a defect in they rev 7 one guy hit play and the platter started moving back & forth by it’s self and wouldn’t play wow I will get one eventually probably but no rush for me I still have my rane one and my cdjs!

Hey Rick, I had the original Rekordbox DDJ-1000 and then sold and upgraded to The Rane 12’s with DJM-S11 but now I also need something small like you said for smaller events. Do you recommend the SRT or the Rev-7, I’m stuck in the middle. 😂

I was going to get one, but no IEC is a deal breaker for me. That shit is for kids! What am I supposed to do at a 160k event when that power cable fails? Yeah, naw!

Is there a way to cue the aux input in the headphones output? All pioneer controllers have a cue on the aux input I don’t see it here?

Maybe there is a silent cue button but not sure if that function is there. The S9 doesn't have an option to listen to aux

I totally agree with you. This is a fantastic controller and should have been made for the solid and stable rekordbox library. Serato library is too unstable. Too much issues about missing tracks in crates, even when library protection is selected.
