Constantly the same reprints that no one needs or wants anymore. Nothing new or flavorful. Art is good with this product and that’s it. Oh and the enormous price increase. Like, that’s what’s BS, I’m fortunate to have a pretty good paying job, but a lot of people that go to my LGS’s aren’t so fortunate and haven’t been able to purchase new boxes for a while simply because the value isn’t worth the price anymore, by a long shot.

Waiting on the "Pallets of Commander Masters found in Landfill" video any day now.

All those 2.50 dollar basic lands. Its an insult and people completely ignore it. They treat it as acceptable card chaff. That is deserved for just having the opportunity to open packs.

This feels like another experiment by Wizards to see how much consistency they have to put in a set to push both revenue and incite and prey upon gambling by the player base. Personally I hate the portrait cards so it’s absolutely not worth it to me at that price point, would be better off just buying singles I want.

I hated the portraits too, but they were cheaper, so I bought a few as singles, and they're MUCH better looking in person than in photo/render/video. Also, the borderless foil command tower he got is currently about 3.5$ USD.

I'm glad this Video was made, it is proof of WOTCs Greed to push a product and charge more for a "Premium product" but then doesn't really give us Premium cards in said product.

It's ridiculous the sticker price was jacked up by at least 100%, and yet they cut the amount of packs from 12 to 4.....so the effective mark-up is at least 6 times.

My condolences and thank you for removing the literal worst collector box from circulation for us. 🙏

the funny part they reprinted most of the value in the bonus sheet of the next STANDARD set.

These would be a hard to buy option at 100$ and in 6months when nobody has any $ they will be extremely hard to sell at 100$

Where I work, a single pack is $80 and we have no ability to discount the products. I spent most likely a minimum of $600 where I work - with a marginal discount to get down to that price - on Baldur's Gate solely for Ancient Copper. I love the rush of pulling from packs, but even I can't imagine spending much on a 'premium' set like Commander Masters if the pulls are so hit or miss.

I had tossed around the idea of getting one at some point, but this is convincing me otherwise.

For the price and the fact that its only 4 packs, there should be absolutely NO duplication. Collector boxes in general shouldn't have duplicates, especially back to back bulk cards. That and the fact the cards that do end up holding any value, WOTC will destroy the first chance they get, is why i haven't given wotc money in 3-4 years

I cant be the only one who thinks this box might have been re-sealed? lol. The shrink wrap was a bit sus and the extremely strong glue on the packs? Idk man

It's wild to me how expensive these boosters are and they still contain mostly chaff smh

i bought a collector box of CMM for myself and it looked exactly like yours. I had 4 cards in it worth mentioning: 2 Commander duals in full art foil and back to back Ur-Dragon Profile Card, one Foil, one none Foil. For around $220 i believe. Last Collector Box of my life, i guess.

1 card out of that box. It has the same price as buying a Bee 52 playing card deck wholesale. The quality difference of the card stock is noticeable between them.

I bought one booster from my lgs for around $60, etched kozilek and foil deflecting swat. I considered myself happy, I had fun with my pulls and refused to roll the dice again lol.

I took the plunge and got a case at the sale price. I was a bit worried but only got a few terrible boxes but none that bad. I think I was just very very lucky 4 lotus and lots of free spells definitely a product that was miss priced. It will be interesting if wotc learns from it or not.

Unfotunately I think they just keep learning the wrong lessons... Doesn't cost much to print, so they really don't need it to be hugely popular in order to make money on it. I bet this was a huge win for them, really.

That's one hell of a whiff! Sorry for your bad luck! I stick to singles these days for commander. I main extra combat werewolves, Rishkar +1/+1 and a precon for precon only nights Virtue and Valor in commander.

I only.opened one of the collector boosters and got a foil full art demonic tutor, foil etch doubling season and a few other goodies. I think I paid 69 bucks the day they launched or day after.

I got lucky and through a promotion i got a box for $190. If i payed full price with what i pulled ide have felt awful.

Damn I feel really lucky now, I purchased one for $200 but ended up opening cards worth around $200 aswell. Am very happy with that outcome after seeing this ;_;

No. I got one for 145 and had $65 in rares and luckily hit one foil frame break lotus to save it. It literally had to be the set chase card to make $40.

I got really lucky with my box I paid €250 but I pulled the value in two cards one of them being the full art foiled jeweled lotus. Not the textured but I was still really happy

That command tower is actually worth more than lots of the rares

The reason I cancelled all my preorders. I was hype because of the Jeweled Lotus. I spent $5K in Commander Legends and it doubled my profit and I was able to play the extra cards I had like Jeweled Lotus. A distributor was selling for $135 and $650 for a case. I went to buy instead a $150 Unfinity CB. It got 4 Shock Lands and 1 of those was a Galaxy Foil. I definitely got my money back and profited on the basic lands.

Even at the release and the prices were at their highest people were losing money left and right, I can imagine now that the prices have hit the floor on staples in that set

Yep....I was one of the clowns that bought 4 boxes on release. I felt like the king of clown town. 1 of the boxes was decent but made NO WHERE close to my money back in value.

I was always under the impression that unless youre opening alot of product that packs are just not the way to go. Been playing since Tempest, and I recommend just trading for/ buying singles and opening prize support, you'll save yourself an absolute fortune and it makes getting shit packs easier to stomach

What they should of done was the aftermath epilogue treatment. They should of charged $50 to $60 for a mini box of 30 packs with each pack being 5 cards. 1 rare or mythic, 2 uncommon and 3 commons. You get to participate in the product at a *low* entry cost, get access to a pool of very playable cards, don't get too many copies of cards since you only need 1 copy for commander, and wotc wins by not having to print 3x the amount of cardboard of pure jank or bulk nobody is going to use. I think that would of been a much better value proposition.

I was just thinking about this.

The only two good cards, as is more than $10 that I got in mine were a grand abolisher extended foil and a textured Kozilek… which I was happy to pull a textured card but I dont think I got even half my $ back. I got 0 of the commander specific instants or any of the good new set specific cards… it was bleak! I had already stopped buying boxes and that reminded me why. I bought ALL of the singles I wanted, Ext foil, etched and standard foil play sets of each and a jewled lotus etched for less than what I paid for the box.

I bought one for this price too. It was roughly break even. Kinda meh

I got a box when they went down to 200 each. At the time i got about 150 back. Now that 150 looks more like what you got. I was so disappointed in this. I really wanted it to be better.

They seemed to stabilize at 200$ us

Got a good price on set booster and it was worth it.....collector boxes are to risky for me.

The draft boosters are better then the collector boosters all day

I have to sell my cards while they are still worth something. There's no way the player base and the game itself will endure so many fuc* ups in a roll.

Even if you manage to sell those, you will lose a third of it to fees, shipping, and taxes. Can be great trade fodder though. If the box was 100, then it would be worth it.

buy a case and post that opening 1 box is no where near a large enough sample size to judge a sets value.

Wizards of the coasts collation is atrocious and I would never tell anyone to buy a masters box of any sort. Especially with a set that the doubled the amount of mythics. Feels bad man.

The most casual players are also the easiest target because a lot of them treat the game too casually to care about prices. They only care about something going into their decks. Even if its a $1 card.

bought 2 boxes on release, and got super hosed. no more mtg product buying for me... spend 500 to get 100 worth of cards that quickly dropped in price...wotc seem to look at card prices when they decide what to put in the these boxes to make them appealing enough on preorder to sell a bunch, then people release that expensive cards were only expensive due to scarcity which now doesnt exist and the prices drop off when wotc doesnt care anymore. they have already sold their premium products to vendors, and dont have to do another print run unless there is one needed...

Wow, that was one of the harshest collector booster box openings I've ever seen. I avoided like a plague and bought what I wanted. Not worth even at what you paid

This is why i only play limited. Even then though with these dumb extra sheets monetary value is still a thing.
