She's more of a tortoiseshell cat, then a calico. She has a bit of calico in her though. She's absolutely beautiful.

She is a calico, Tortoiseshell cats have no white fur. Also, Torties & Calico cats are usually always Female. If you find a male Tortie, or Calico they are sterile due to a genetic mutation. Hello from Phoenix Arizona!🔥

@@pinball541 isn’t it more to do with how mottled the markings are? Torties are more brindle, whereas calicos have more distinct/tricolour markings. It is possible for torties to have some white or cream but they are predominantly bicolour.

@@tiramisumochi4787 theres differing opinions on this, some people think torties have no white on them at all and ANY white makes the cat a calico. Calico cats are sometimes even called 'tortiseshell with white' - which i think is a more accurate description for a cat like this. I amost feel like we need an extra name for the cats that fall inbetween both patterns

She's beautiful. It's great that you adopted an older cat. I adopted a calico cat two years ago, and the Cat's Protection Charity thought that she would have been 4 or 5 yrs old. I love her dearly and can't imagine life without her. Xx😻💕💗🤗

@@daniellemotunrayo1008 yeah like a sphynx cat, but they might clean themselves so their spit is the thing that makes people allergic to cats, not neccesarily their fur

I got my cat when she was 5 too, oh and she's Calico and I got her at an animal rescue hospital too ☺. Calico cats have a great personality for real. I did a video about that on my channel too on the real truth about Calico cats.

I adopted my Cat 3 days ago. She’s Gray 11.7 pounds and very shy. She used her new pine pellets litter box day 2. No messes yet. She hides under the couch all day and eats and plays while I’m sleeping. Hopefully she lets me into her life someday.

@@jadynruthmusic Kitty is doing great. I just fed her breakfast. On the evening of day 3 she came out of hiding ate her dinner drank water then jumped in my lap. We’ve been friends since. She spent the night with me in my bed. But I didn’t get much sleep. She was playing off and on and exploring. I eventually put her on canned food because she prefers it and she needs the added moisture. She doesn’t want to go outside at all. I did a little harness and leash training with her. Took her outside but she was walking low to the ground and scared to death. I put that idea on hold. She’d obviously never been outside before. I’d like to take her camping with me in my RV this summer.

So I bought my daughter an 8 week old calico, as a man's man I said to my daughter don't expect me to be feeding her and changing her tray in fact I don't want nothing to do with her it's your cat and if I see her on the kitchen counter then god help you both! Fast forward 5 months I do all of those things and she sleeps on my pillow and my protective instincts have been heightened to the point I'm waking up a number of times through the night to make sure she's warm and breathing 😏

Our cats wake my wife up at 1:30 every morning---she has to be at work at 4:00 am, so that's OK. Unfortunately, they can't distinguish work days from weekends.

One thing cats don't like is closed doors. Give her time to settle in. A good sùggestion from a long term cat lady is get a window hammock. They love lying in the window watching birds, cars, etc. She won't miss you as much if she is entertained while your gone. She is a beautiful girl.

Our cat Baby is a 5 year old calico too---she's a dilute calico, blue, cream, and white. She's a purebred Munchkin, but dosen't have the short legs. We got her free from the breeder because of her long legs, and got her papers when we had her spayed. She is a very funny and affectionate cat. But she does have an attitude--most calicoes and tortoiseshells do. Your kitty is lovely. Wishing you many happy years together.

I just watched this video and really found it to be one of the best cat videos i have seen in a while I have a 9 year old calico or tortie as they are sometime called I rescued her at a no kill shelter her name is Katie and I love her very much she is my best friend I could have picked a better companion then her.

I also just adopted a 2 year old calico. She seemed pretty well adapted after 2 or 3 days. They are very intelligent and sweet.

If she's an nearly old cat, get a lower litter box, easier to get in. With aging they have lot of issues and pain.

I adopted a 2 year old, calico, super loving domestic longhair kitty (EDIT): I learned she was getting euthanized the next day, and I loved her so I got her

Nicely edited video. Great, proud cat. DON'T give it dry food. That will kill it early. It will destroy the liver like it would if you ate dry food. Cheap chicken liver mixed with some cheaper cuts of fresh meat is best and some decent cat food (not the gourmet crap) cans of fish will keep it healthy.
