Thank you all for watching this video. I’m sad to report that Gus died on 9/17/20. We don’t really know what happened but we think it had to do with a urination problem. He was always wet and messy in that area. We got a new bunny and named her Winnie. We love her! She was born 8/4/20. She has no problems and is clean and dry! Unlike Gus, she’s never peed outside of her litter box! She is already free roaming the house!

And how did he die? Because rabbits are supposed to live 10-14 years and I know that scince I have 3 of my own. 2 are around 6 and 1 is about 1 year old

The Binky part was adorable 😍🥺
Just as a tip, when you travel in a car with your rabbit, you might want to have your rabbit in a carrier. If rabbits get freaked out they may end up hurting themselves in a moving car. And plus it will provide a place for them to hide so they can feel safe. Also, that is a very pretty rabbit! Hope you have fun with your new rabbit! Bunnies are such good pets if you take good care of them. I have two myself and they are so sweet.

All my 5 pets hates being in their cage when they need to go to the vet or sum, so they always cry in the car if they don’t lay in my lap. (But I totally agree with u)

U are doing soo good but u can’t hold him like that because he is a pray animal hold him the other way around with your hand supporting his but u are doing such a good job tho I am about to get another bunny either on Christmas or before
The should have at least 3 different kind of fresh veggies a week (2 plates of vegetables a day)

Ella lmao 80% hay 15% fresh veggies and 5% treats and pellets they can eat a lot Of different types of veggies not just lettuce and they shouldn’t be minimized to just one type of veggie and pellets are not necessarily For their diet it’s just a supplement and should be given in small amounts!

@@cough464 based on my research Carrot and veggies should be treats. There main diet as I stated before should be hay,lettuce/greens And a scoop of pellets based on the age. I never said they should be limited to one type of treat. The carrots were an example

Ella lmao i never said anything about carrots as a treat in my other reply but yes carrots Should be treats as they are high in sugar then u said “there main food should be ALL lettuce” which I stated was wrong and they shouldn’t be limited to just lettuce and btw it’s their :) 💗💗 and also veggies Arent treats maybe some types but kale, lettuce, cilantro, celery, etc should be a main part of there diet where as fruits should be kept a treat since they’re high in sugarsss and like I said before pellets are not necessarily unless u have a young baby
My first ever rabbit Bugsy was a very sad looking rabbit when I was first introduced to him but I remember when I arrived home from school to find my dad had built a run in the garden for him & he was more excited than I was, he showed by doing lots of little binkies & running up to the bars as if to say "look what I got"

Hi! Your definitely super educated about rabbits and I’m super happy to see that because when people get rabbits not everyone is as educated! I would slowly introduce vegetables to your rabbit soon and eventually give your rabbit veggies everyday! For pellets they should have 1/4 per 5 pounds so as a baby rabbit that doesn’t weight as much make sure your feeding the proper amount! (Which I think you doing great!) Again I’m so glad your super educated and Gus is ADORABLE🥰

i mean she still went to a breeder over adoption, there didnt seem to be any chew toys, and she was letting him out around dogs who could easily give him a heart attack, so not too much research was done. It’s very unfortunate that he died so quickly (likely of G.I stasis) but the death would have probably been avoided with better research and a vet.
My bunnies also know their tricks, "Gus" is adorable and you are the smartest girl to ever get a bunny. Tells me you can really do whatever you put your heart into.

We had two bunnies and they recently passed🥺 Im so sorry Gus passed away and I hope Winnie makes you happy! Me and my siblings are going to each get our own bunny in the spring but they will all live together! DONT WORRY GUYS WE WILL GIVE THEM ENOUGH SPACE! But in total we will have 3 bunnies and I’m super excited!

It's nice to see that people actually do research now before they get pets! I use to see so many people who got rabbits and did no research and had no idea what they were doing.

@@tesspetersen647 you obviously don't know much about rabbits and only think you do. To day a rabbit died because what it ate proves you haven't a clue about underlying illnesses, diseases and just bad genetics (especially coming from a breader who over breads like she got her bun from).

Some tips as a rabbit owner of four years: (Not saying you don't know this stuff, just putting it out there) Yesterday's News cat litter is an amazing litter and lasts us a LONG time. Oxbow also has great food, treats and toys. Also make sure he has hay 24/7. Sickness is VERY hard to spot in rabbits. If you see him acting very lethargic, lack of eating, eyes glossed over, you should be concerned. We always have Critical Care and syringes available for force-feeding, you can ask your vet for info on that. We feed our bunnies (we have two) twice a day. It's something they look forward to and it creates a healthy eating cycle and prevents overeating. For picking up/holding, it's very important you know safely how to. I've gotten kicked, scratched and bitten many times as a result of improper handling. Please keep in mind some bunnies enjoy handling while others don't- rabbits are prey animals and may feel scared while held, but some don't. Don't lay them on their back- it stresses them out greatly. You're doing such a great job so far, hope all goes well!

bunnies also like to get off the ground and look around (like a watch tower type of thing)- you could place a ramp up to a chair or something he can hop up and have a look around.

Your rabbit was genetically modified. That's probably why he died so quickly. They normally live from 8-10 years.

The cutest part was when he was trying to dig....so innocent 😊 the poor creature doesn't even know that it is hard tiles...height of innocence and cuteness

It’s better to get two bunnies because bunnies are pack animals their lives are a lot more happier with two and if one bunny gets scared they’re run to the other one and it makes them feel safe so please in your future or sooner than that please get another bunny please

@@delfina1255 I think that as they get older they can get a bit hormonal, and they may fight. The best way to fix this is to get them spayed, which will stop them from getting ovarian cancer which is extremely common for bunnies.

@@delfina1255 yes i do Get 2 play pens or something grids maybe something like that get two little boxes basically two of their necessity stuff put like a border around them until they try to get better with each other and Keep the two litter boxes so that way they don’t get territorial and feed them far away from each other so they don’t get territorial and also how old are they that will help me understand what’s happening

they actually need two handfuls of lettuce a day (not trying to be rude) and always have hay avalible i recomend watching lennon the bunny for tips
A tip for pet owners watching. Rabbits and dogs do not have great traction on slippery surfaces per se, and hairy feet are even more slippery. I have seen dogs and rabbits that end up with splayed legs, that eventually give way due to wooden, laminate or tiled flooring.......so sad because they have stressed out ligaments. Imagine walking on a skating rink, and imagine how you might walk and compensate to prevent from slipping and falling! So please make sure your pet has non slip flooring to walk on so they can have a good grip. A good carpet runner along a wooden floor is a good idea.
