I always kinda loved the look of the old Buells back in the 00s - they had short wheelbases & were very flickable, wheelied easily, stoppied easily - those who wanted to do stunts tended to get them. Pretty much the only American bike I was really interested in buying. Never really got the Harley vibe, but these were pretty capable bikes at the time & had a number of innovations like the fuel in frame (and iirc engine oil in the swingarm..?) & those mahoosive radial disk hoops.

I bought my '05 Lightning XB12 SCG and added the factory race ECM and pipe and it was the best handling bike I ever owned. My reason for buying was also because it was the only American sport bike out there. It wasn't the fastest bike but, did have a lot of torque and could do a burn out starting from a dead stop in 5th gear. I was glad they went to KTM for more power but, I stopped riding triple digit HP bikes by then, I currently own a vintage RD400 and a new XR150.

I’ve owned Buells for many years. They aren’t always the fastest but they are fun! The massive amount of torque is where this bike shines above the rest.

I had a ‘97 Lightning. Loved it. Fast, torquey, and ate up the twisty canyon roads. The only downside was finding a Harley mechanic that could or would work on it. I hope they got that part worked out.

@@MrDanielSolano007 Thr blast is my first bike, and i think its super easy to work on. other then the carb, i dont think you'll have many issues with it. i dumped mine and broke the shift lever, and still rode it home. I cant say about mechanics servicing it, since i do that myself. Its a simple bike and a great one to learn on

I met a guy whom was proud of his beast of a Buell bike. He was revving the engine talking about how powerful what magic it was. It sounded beastly and that was about 7 or 8 years ago roughly. It was a sport bike. Yes I had to ask him about it when I saw that Buell name on the side.
