The weird part is that Intet is a card, just a completely different one (a Temur dragon from the same cycle as Teneb, the Harvester). Though I don’t mind the mixups at all; it’s just perplexing

9:10 You probably would’ve had a chance if you attacked with everything and gave Adeline trample with Inti’s ability. If you did, they’d be forced to chump block with Lunarch Veteran and Inspiring Overseer, or block Adeline with Voice of the Blessed. Then they’d be unable to kill you on the way back unless they already had a lifegain card in hand.

I died to that roaming throne monk deck you mentioned. It’s pretty good

The throne/ward synergy is something I never realized! Really cool and my kinda tech.

The second Seth (better known as Saffron “KZread engagement algorithm” Olive) started talking about using the golem tokens from Anim Pakal to trigger her ability, I was hoping for a complete punt moment where he spends the next minute trying to figure out why she didn’t trigger.

I’ve been loving Roaming Throne with Phyrexians. So many good trigger creatures! What’s better than 1 Sheoldred trigger per card draw? 5 triggers 😂😂

I tried it in bo1 as soon as the new set dropped. Don't sleep on the smaller phyrexians either. Mana fixing for phyrexians in standard is now too easy.

Watching this made me so happy to see the diversity of standard decks now, the decks you went up against were almost all interesting.

"I wish Isshin wasn't legendary" funnily enough, if Isshin wasn't legendary, you wouldn't have been able to cast it that turn because of your Plaza of Heroes

Graveyard Trespasser is a human with an attack trigger. Seems like you should have a few in the board for graveyard hate. Training is also an attack trigger, which makes me think Hopeful Initiate might be better than Recruitment Officer.

@@brushwagg7735 I haven't given the deck a try yet, but I went with a 3/3 split of initiates and officers with the veterans in the board with my build.

I'm really happy that Annex Sentry was the final boss of Diamond. I love that card a lot specifically because the exile and big butt are good at stalling aggro. I run a full playset of them in my mono white control Mite deck. I use Indoctrination Attendant with Annex Sentry and Ossification to deal with whatever the biggest threat is until I can reach 7 mana and win with White Sun's Twilight.

Isshin is so ridiculously sweet, it's by far my favorite panharmonicon

i manged to assemble anim pakal + roaming throne on the prerelase event, felt amazing

Anim is my favorite card from ix... and now I have a new setup to try! Thank you

In the final set there was a punt on the sideboarding I feel, the get losts were more easily fueling there Dusk Roses so just taking them out and putting in the elsbeth smites would have saved some heartache, love the deck and brewed up a version of it in Naya use ing Yotian Disenant and Teething Wormlet Yorian on 2 Pakal turn 3 throne turn 4, also with Ozalith cause I love that card

I personally use mishra in my more aggressive anvil deck. Ive been thinking of making a mardu pia anvil deck since you run desk and synth already but I havent figured out cuts.

Crafted this, proceeded to play 3 Atraxa ramp in a row that play black virtue and depopulate main deck. Closed the laptop

You need to against the odds the one shot combo Carnosaur deck, its stupidly fun when it goes off!

While I know it isn’t a human, the vampire with battlecry would be great in this deck

So I played draft on opening weekend and had inti and anim in my pulls i went 4-0 and that made me start brewing with humans and i went 5 color but then i remembered isshin is standard so i brewed something similar to this my list plays initiate, tress passer. And warden of the inner sky but throne is really good so i am tweaking my original list to fit 4 thrones

roaming throne is very much a fun card

I can’t believe we’ve gotten to the point that Seth was surprised that Isshin held the board against tempo. We’re surprised when a 3/4 for 3 MV is good enough on defense. Either way I got vicarious value enjoyment. that was a great run.

In the Surge Engine game you commented that Melding is risky, but I disagree. None of the BRO melds let your opponent 2-for-1 you - Mightstone & Weakstone gets you card advantage on ETB and offsets the meld cost; Dragon Engine can be unearthed to meld for incidental value after trading or looting (potentially drawing you a fresh hand as well); Argoth is immediately replaced by at least 4 lands on a successful meld. Therefore, the only real loss if they remove the melded pair (or the mythic before the meld occurs) is that you're down that one creature. "Dies to removal" as an argument only goes so far, as demonstrated by the ubiquity of Sheoldred. The upside of an unanswered meld is that you win effective immediately, and the downside of failing to meld is having to run build-arounds that are still individually good cards.

Game 1 could’ve been won if you had swung out. They’d be forced to block Adeline Intet and Recruitment officer and lose all their creatures in combat. If they don’t trade voice for Adeline they would have to lose both of their lifegainers and no way to pump voice unless they’ve got something in hand. Either way they already have lethal with fliers at next turn so you lose anyways if you don’t go for the kill.

Seth imma cut you a little slack with pronouncing names from this set. But calling a carnosaur a ceradon in your last video hurt my soul. Especially when you said it right several times haha 😂

Playing Mishra without the Dragon Engine is a Crime against the Magic Gods.

Like all aggro decks, this seems to really benefit from being on the play, but I have to say, this thing gets out of hand fast and that may be enough for it to be a real deck

Mishra very expensive to meld + a lot of setup enemy sees and can get ready for. Urza pretty bad planeswalker for the work needed to meld (also randomly dies to She's edict) Titania requires massive deck building commitment and still dies to doomblade so it's an all in strategy. Melds don't work simply cuz payoffs are quite bad. Instead of melding it's better to run 2-3 card combos which is kind of like meld but you have an instant win-the-game state and not some value piece that dies to common removal.

to answer your comment I was able to get mythic with merfolk but not get above 92%

When dinos got support but so did everything else #Tokensupport#RoamingThrone

I mean you coulda added at least 1 dragon engine to get the chance of melding mishra

I won't shoot you down by pointing out how win-more that would be, but instead the fact that Melded Mishra isn't even human to get double Throne triggers means it's not win-more enough to justify the memes.

I do think that people are hung up on the meld idea. Maybe we just assume when one piece comes in to play, it will be destroyed right away. I'm not sure I could have told you what Mishra even did off the top of my head.
