It's obvious to see how someone like John Mayer became the guitar player he is today with a teacher like Tomo. I'm not saying that every of Tomo's students will reach the top echelon of the the world's guitarists. But when someone with the spirit, talent, and dedication like John Mayer meets a masterful teacher like Tomo -- real magic happens, the result of which we all now get to enjoy.

Tomo I love you! You are literally like the Tao, you give so much without asking for anything in return. There wont be a better advice ever, than really focusing on one thing at a time, in detail, till you feel very comfortable and confident about it. You can learn so much from one exercise or piece, when you really break it down and dive into the core of what makes everything what it is + solving all problems slowly and patiently will bring the fastest results. It makes you excited to show it to people, and you wont forget it... ever. Thankyou so much, I hope I´ll meet you one day ...when i have practices enough too jam with you!

This remind me of my time in college in jazz drumming. My teacher, Francis Filion, made us play rudiments with no snare and listen to the harmonic to have it sounds consistent (it is beyond hard on an instrument basically playing two "notes" at the same time with the bottom and top head) to even out our hands and make us hit a little point or sharpie in the center. This is the equivalent, for guitar. I'm starting to play my first guitar, a squier strat, and you're always reluctant to exercices at the beginning, but what's great about this is that it's very musical, very simple, but also every great guitarist knows how to play this in their sleep so you can measure your progress more accurately. I like to listen to videos like this before sleep so my brain work on it and the next morning I learn the exercise :) Thank you senseï!

Really like the "3 levels" that you've done with some of your videos. The problem I have with my current instructor and the few online instructions is the lessons are all over the place. There is no progression. So when we have the "steps" it really helps the understanding and getting the technique down..
