I got them done 15 years ago and I remember that it didn't hurt at first but then the lady got the earring that was already in my ear stuck in the gun and she panicked and started yanking on my ear really hard and I started crying. I think I was like three maybe? But my mom said I was fine and just said "owie" until she yanked on it

To anyone asking why it's bad, look at the video description. But to put it basically, a piercing gun cannot be properly sterilised so it is very unclean, staff at the shops are not properly trained and the equipment is not sharp enough, it shoots a blunt object through your ear causing damage to the area. That's just lobes, with cartilage at the top of your ear or on your nose it can shatter the cartilage and cause permanent deformity.

I also have 2 piercings from Claire's from years ago before I ever did any proper research. Mine are thankfully fine but it's really not safe practice and is not worth the risk. My local piercing place is actually a lot cheaper than Claire's can be too.

Where are you from? The English shops used to be like 40% goth / studded / victorian style gothic and 40% plain silver stuff and earrings and 20% cute stuff which then became 80% cute stuff. Edit: oh and in another comment i wrote it was a unisex fashion thing to wear rosary style necklaces in wood or bright colours like pink or blue plastic and elasticated wooden block bracelets with crosses (which later became may religious symbols) printed on them. That and studded everything lasted quite a while in the fashion world, studded shoes and boots were big too. We have strict uniforms usually too, so I think some of the religious imagery was to get away with being able to wear the stuff in school.

I got mine done at Walmart when I was 3 and I’ve never seen the station set up for ear piercings since, a bout a year or two ago I wanted my second earlobe holes pierced and I was unpausing I got them done at Claire’s they were completely healthy and fine until I woke up one morning and one grew completely over the front of my earring so I had to get it cut out:(

I have actually been trying to get more into the Goth style, since I was very young Ive actually been interested... but I come from a family that isn’t very supportive of this come of thing. I still do want to be goth, and I want to try. But for now I just have to stick to short purple hair and dark purple lipstick, since black hair and makeup is not acceptable in this household. Im also not allowed piercings, but jewelry is more acceptable I guess. I’ll get there one day, I hope. For now I’ll just have to keep sticking to the “Wannabe Goth” look, since I guess that is what I am.

Honestly think you did pretty well! I personally did prefer the pigtails over the cat ears but that's down to personal preference ;) Goth approved! Kinda gives me a bit of an everyday high school goth feel hehe

Kalah Howard I’m a wannabe goth, mostly because of my parents dislike towards my fashion choice and lifestyle. I hope that one say I can be a goth too, whether it be classy or punk, I just want to be there. And I so agree about the Cat ears, really cute. But I think if the flowers were more of a dark blue(not navy, never) or purple they would be more fitting for a gothic look.

I got mine done at Claire’s but they were fine. They did them unevenly though :( it looks weird now bc I have 3 lobe piercings and they’re wonky on one ear
