Operation Finish Burrito a success.

I'm pretty sure that was a Dorsett Catalina, Dorsett started in Santa Barbara California as a Plastics Company, they also had a plant in Bremen Indiana and Cambridge Maryland, the only reason I know that is because they make a sought after boat called a Dorsett Sea Hawk that looks like a Cadillac from the back. They actually made some of the best looking boats back then, that are pretty rare these day's.

Currently rebuilding a 67 dorsett, with a 70hp evenrude (two-stroke). Runs like a giant jet ski, fun boat for weekend camping and fishing (yes I sleep on the boat)

Exactly what it is.Most likely a 60 or 61.I have a 59 Skagit skimaster that's from the same time frame.

Always, always, tie up your boat. Should another boat go by leaving a wake, your boat could be washed away and you'd be in a hurting situation.

Always tie off your boat. You can never be too careful when you are alone. I enjoy watching your videos and I miss the Vegas desert. Don’t want to see you get stranded anyplace. I had 2 blowouts once in the early 1990s north of Vegas and it was an all day ordeal with about a 7 mile hike in 110 degree heat. Always carried 2 spares after that 👍😎

The red shut off cable is a good idea. I read a story about a guy from NY rented a nice boat at Lake Tahoe. He went out to the middle. Set up his iPhone on a tripod and recorded himself jumping in for a swim. He didn’t have the boat totally out of gear. It was slowly moving away. The look on his face said it all. He drowned and the boat was found on shore days later. It was the deepest freshwater human remains recovery in history.

dorcett model 1960 15 footer, its a catalina . they were made from 1956 to 1964 15 to 22 footers, these boats are collectables now, the 15 footer in mint condition is worth around 12,500.00

That's awesome, you got onto the island. Did you notice the water level marks above the boat? That island was almost covered with water at one time, it's so sad now. Love what you do. Henderson is my hometown. I was wondering if the big "B" is still on the mountain behind Basic High School? Up by that "B", are caves, we used to ditch school in. Lol. There was also, a giant Peace Sign, on Sunrise Mountain. My Dad and his friends used to paint the Peace Sign every year and the graduating class used to paint the big B. I don't live there anymore, but, some of my fondest memories are from there. Love the desert. Thank You for taking us with you 😊.

Hopefully the heavy snowfall will be some relief for Lake Mead. I just searched Dorsett boats. Those are nice! Take a look at the 1958 and 1962 models. The 1962 looks just like the one you found.

Paul from @FabRats had an episode today about a trip out there in Sept. finding a boat that he is going to retrieve and repair. I can't wait to see how it goes. Have you checked them out? His cousin Merlin also dropped an episode where he dropped a clip at the end and mentioned what they were doing. @Merlin's Old School Garage is from Lake Havasu. If I weren't 29 hours away, I would love to be out there exploring too. I've just started following you so I have a lot to catch up on.

The outboard sounds like my Yamaha outboard I turn the choke on first pull and shut choke off instantly it works on first pull

Thats a late 50s maybe way eary 60 ish Dorset later than My 56 Same general boat Mine has smaller windows by a small Percentage. They are Very rare today.

That boat's been gutted so that means it was sunk on purpose. Somebody was too cheap to pay the wrecker bill to have it destroyed. If that boat was sunk by accident there'd still be a motor chairs and all the other stuff in it.

Yes it is a Dorsett Catalina, I have a 1960 in my driveway, this one looks to be some where in the mid 60's do to the lack of hardware on the bow and stern, the upper windshield is gone or was never installed, they are a cool boat and always gets thumbs up from the guys with the 100,000.00 hot rod boats.

The last remaining unfound baldwin motion boat (of motion camaro performance back in the day), is in lake mead, it's on the cover or on the cover page of an article in national geographic, you can see the big block and the spot where the emblem would have been. You should find that , there are people looking for it ,will pay big $$ for it.

Great rig, still have all ur mobility and a boat for on the water trips. I realize ur still getting the set up the way u want, but would suggest u find a way to secure ur gear in the boat. A bonehead boater gets to close could capsize u!

I am surprised that the lake authorities have not removed debris or possible pollutants from the area, given this time whilst the lake is low. Pollutants will be higher when the lake refills due to the sun on the many fiberglass hulls left behind. Considering the lake is drinking water and fiberglass can cause symptoms like asbestosis. If anyone gets an illness later, sue the authorities. Just a heads up.

The Glasspar del mar had a single piece windshield but the marking on the boat is clear, it's a Dorset.

Maybe you should do some investigation on circular irrigation you should see the pipe work put in those I couldn't understand it I've been around Farm country all my life in irrigation I never seen it at 12 ft pipe need to be put in for irrigation these bastards were put in this water in there so bad guzzling up all the water all that circular irrigation look on the map they kicked out the old farmers and they brought in this underground water system where you can't tell how much they're taking oh I wonder how the lake got empty geez what am I five grow up googly eyes everybody's just googly eyes they don't want to do anything I've been fighting this stuff since I was five years old I'm 65 I give up I hand the Baton to you nothing left to save Fly Fast girl and I'm a pilot don't even fly your ugly Chemtrails Skies
