Can ya imagine working there like this fine gentleman. When a young fireball guitar player starts tearing into a strat AND with a tremelo bar plugged into the baddest amp in the place. Cranked to Eleven. As a sales dude you want to be there for questions but day after day doing it. It takes a true music lover. Or something. Enjoyed the video! Seeing young folks smiling and laughing. Hell yeah.
Good Grief!! That Strat's Sound is out of this World Beautiful!!! Thank you very much for sharing it with us.
For those of you who dont know who the guy working in the store is. He usually plays guitar in Johan Segerborn's videos (the Marshall guy on KZread)

Awesome that you could both experience that store and make the purchase. Love the Hendrix sound, man, please post more of that!

Good for you! The passion is evident. Both sound awesome. A real 63 with that perfect trem and huge block! Fits you like a glove. Awesome
Longer vids! Awesome-Mimi you for sure won the guitar battle. What great players both of you-and so young! Keep on rocking’ kids. Long live SRV!
I bought my 1962 slab board, LPB Strat in 1974 for $175.00. It changed the trajectory of my life. I still have the guitar and music shop receipt. Your '63 Strat sounded amazing!😊👍

I’ve been a customer since the late 90’s at this seller. Wonderful shop and really awesome staff during the years.
That was a blast! That strat and bassman sounded amaaazing! Thank you!
Mia, the first time I watched this video I enjoyed seeing the joy on yours and Chris’ faces of finding and then experiencing playing such a fine vintage instrument. Then I played the video again, closing my eyes and listening closely, the sound brought images of Jimi playing again, it was that good! Thank you for sharing with us and can’t wait to see and here more!

We feel your excitement! Fantastic guitar, Chris. Will it get its own pillow?😊
Dear goodness god… that thing sounds absolutely as beautiful as it looks. The sound on it is 👌🥹👌
That is the best sounding strat I have ever heard , in the right hands too .
Ok nice guitar ...In 1963 Fender hired a man named Alfredo He was the painter of guitars from 63 till forward and in the late 80s when Michael Stevens was given the task of opening the Fender custom shop Fredo was there still.. So he and Michael called Dupont and asked if they might help match the original custom colors.. Dupont laughed saying yes we have the original books come on down.. So Fredo and Michael my heros went on down to Dupont and got all the original codes and chips to match too and stocked the shelves once again to do custom colors as they did in late 50s early 60s. Its possible Fredo as Michael called him shot this 63 burst. Its a 3 tone burst but if you look they did somewhat of a translucent blonde below the yellow giving the almost white or blonde look coming up through black on edges and dark brown.. So my guess is its like the sealer coat and fullerplast was shot over that sealer coat to lock and seal that look in to avoid wasting yellow they shot the center yellow out to the edges... So Yellow over sealer then cherry round the edges and they would shoot the edges black and fade in some brown once dry you can lightly scuff that edge and it does the hazed tobacco edge. Note the neck has no skunk stripe down back nor the truss rod hole through headstock no koa plug.. That is a slab board @ 1:56 look behind the nut at the Brazilian rosewood... what do you see ? its a flat piece of rosewood glued atop maple blank. FLAT the face would have been radiused Clay dots .. If they are claiming thats a B neck the real way to tell is measure the nut width if its a chunky neck behind the nut and it measures 1.5 across the nut its bigger then a B Shape neck. A and B are most common D are most rare and think 50s tele neck fat U shape giant neck ... A D shaped neck is one inch thick at the nut nothing taken or shaved behind the nut down back of neck C shape is tapered and B shape is getting thin and narrow as is A shaped neck being the smallest and least wide. U shape neck or boat neck is full inch but the shape is more U looking then D or C Stevie Ray liked D necks they were GIANT he had all his work done by Michael Stevens which is how I know this I had my first 58 strat done by Michael and his amazing crew in 1980-81 era and they had done Eric Johnsons Virginia which was a one piece spruce body according to Fullerton they had made some early on out of spruce but too expensive to make all of them that way if one customer said hey how come mine does not look like that then complaints so they chose a more available wood ash or southern ash to keep the weight down. When you look under pickguard look in the route cavities for any tape with a females signature on it Leo had females wiring the guards and doing final assembly as they have lighter touch. So as a matter of pride and quality control Leo asked them to sign the tape so if the guitars came back with any complaints or did not then they knew who would be to blame or to praise.... To keep the customer happy. The pickups should be grey bobbin on bottom and look for a signature perhaps abbigail ybarra wrapped the pickups it sure sounds like it to my ears She wrapped Jimis as in HENDRIX . So no skunk stripe slab board 63 strat with excellent sounding pickups. Get a meter and spec the pickups find out what they rate at please they will be hotter in the 6. ranges id guess since 60s small headstock still and clay dots..... You will see a stamped date on the heel of the neck but honestly if they have photos of that id not remove the neck but if you just have to peek and take photos, make note of which screw is in which hole dont take them fully out and there might be a shim at heel in pocket.... You might see some writing in the neck pocket or stamps and as mentioned the heel of the neck will have a black rubber date stamp. oct63b something like that and inside spring claw cavity under the yellow should be pencil date or its under the guard on the body in the wiring routes.. You got a great guitar id go back and buy the fuzz and tube screamer with it the 4x10 bassman is the rest........ But that guitar has "IT" Should have cloth wiring and the pots you can date they should all be the same codes cts factory pots.... look for the nail holes in body and back of neck heel area and under g tuner you should see the snake bite on heel of neck on back two tiny marks and then an extra screw hole under tuner which is the jig holes from when they routed the trus rod slot which is cold rolled steel and tap and dyed. if you take it apart make note of which screw came out of which hole and take your time and photograph it well. You might see they stopped the red under the guard area where you cant see it thats to save red that area would be under the guard near bottom horn. Remember neck size is determined by A B C D D Being the largest outside of U and both are one inch thick behind the nut and 1.65 wide across nut would be a D size neck. 1 11/16ths would be B size neck and it would be thin and narrow at the nut not chunky or beefy. what type pedals do you make..? if they are fuzz pedals we need to talk more. Im Ron Frey I think you got a great one there.. my ears never lie..

Tone is such a personal thing. But the feel of the instrument is usually what are driving people towards vintage guitars. Not only do they have a history which does seem to fascinate people, but they have also been aged and played in.

That’s because of to me awful sounding pedals they used. They should have just cranked that glorious amp. Tube screamers and fuzzface are the worst pedals ever manufactured to my ears
Awesome. I would have loved to go with you guys. A 1965 Strat was the first Strat I ever played (in 1969) and I loved it. It was still like new. I could totally get lost in there. Is that a 55 Bassman? Ohhhhh. That would be heaven. Some smooth Jazz on that thing would make my hair stand up!
Loved the Foxy Lady strummmm I am grabbing my electric now. Always enjoyable to watch Mimi jam.
