Just came to watch this cause I bought my girlfriend a Nintendo switch for our one year. And the beggining reminds me of her reaction this morning. As soon as she saw it she fell back, cried a lil, and said this couldn't be real. Cant wait to have many great memories playing switch with her. Cheers.

The new switch actually has a brighter screen and the color temperature is actually closer to perfect. The original switch's screen was dimmer and had a slightly blue tint to the color temp. The new one is also better suited to outside play in direct sunlight being brighter. The original was around 2500 nits on the brightness scale, where as the new one is much closer to about 3200 nits which is where most cell phones have their brightness set at. Any device you are going to use outside they suggest it to be anything 3200 and over. So yeah, they actually did more then just change the processor and extend the battery life.

Tamara Girodie fair enough. I got my switch last October so I really hope they don’t start to drift after this “period” where Nintendo is willing to fix them for free. I already had to send my switch console in for slight warping and the bottom part of the screen coming out of the body.

How did you transfer your profile so quickly? I literally have my switch is set up for transfer but nothings going anywhere

The opening to this killed me. Especially considering I had the exact opposite reaction of "love at first sight" I had to put a solid 20-30 hours into the system to even consider it something I enjoyed. Now it's my favorite system and my library for it is almost as big as my steam library.

I remember getting my first og switch, opened the box and first thing I did was slap a glass screen protector on it, begone dock scratches!!

keep in mind however that because the rest is still plastic it could be risky if you drop your switch so if you're klutzy prob not a good idea

You do understand the plastic locks are designed to be damaged when you drop the switch. If you end up making them metal, you may end up breaking something else on the switch if you drop it on the joy cons. Like the rail would take the full force of the hot.

The "matte finish" that new joycons appear to have is actually not a thing, it seems like that just because they are new out of the box. I know that because i've purchased 4 new pairs of joycons so far and every pair felt like "having a matte finish" upon first contact but it worn off after a while.

Since then i had various issues with joycon drift, pairing and connectivity and ended up buying more new pairs and returning some because of unrepairable problems. Now i have 6 joycons and 4 of them have a drift issue. The build quality of joycons is awful and i hope the new ones will fix at least some issues.

@@Zomscar2190 The tech shop i bought the switch from repaired them under warranty and the issues still returned a few months after the repair They are honestly so poorly designed and tarnish Nintendo's name because they are well known for designing some the best controllers of all time

If the slot for the battery on the revision the same as the old switch you can just find a replacement revision battery and put it into your old switch

Super awesome. You missed a trick though! You should have edited the breakup scene at the start of the video, so that it looked like you were talking about Kim. But PLOT TWIST there was the Nintendo Switch in each scene with Kim and that was what you were breaking up with

It's true any of the new joycons since they fixed joycon drift (secretly) feel better I've bought a couple pairs since my originals failed.

Am I the only one who's thinking "Why did he buy this when he just bought 2 switch "minis" and said he wanted them not only for his collection but for the battery life and be his on the go switch so he could keep his original in the dock" lol 🤣🤣🤣

That’s a good point but the switch lite doesn’t come out for a little while so he can use this new one for now and tell us his experience on how much better the battery really is 😁

2 Switches just defeats the original concept of the machine....smfh🤦‍♂️....Why am I paying for a underpowered console, if on top of that I am gonna have to own 2 Switches? Just stupid

New joycons probably feel rougher because you're used to feeling ones that have had a bit of wear and have worn down over time

Is it only me or are switch unboxing and set up videos more interesting than the ps4 and Xbox ones?

You can use the old one for Lineage OS (Android) and homebrew. You can play some Shield games like Portal or Half-Life 2, and Dolphin runs perfectly with some tweaks 😁

That intro actually brought me to tears. It really reminded my of the amazing time I've had with my switch up until now

It's okay. My girlfriend's switch smells like Worcestershire sauce when some spilled on it when we were in England.
