Enjoyed the video. I'd like to see one where you haggle over a backgammon board, and how to tell the real one from the fakes (made with decals).

@@Istanbuller I spent 34 yrs in the CDN Navy and just retired 2 yrs ago. My wife and I are going on a MED cruise and have a 10 hr stop in Istanbul. We were going to go on a tour of the Blue Mosque/Harem/Grand Bazaar. I’ve sailed in the Med while in the Navy but never been to Istanbul. Should be fun.

I guess we need to speak Mandarin Chinese or something else...Turks are one of the best salesmen hahaha...They just need a few words in all languages esp. English, French, Russian, Arabic, and Japanese...May be even Indonesian/Malaysian now LOL... We'll be speaking French and English from Switzerland

Scammers are always around. Key is yo listen to your gut and don't do anything you're not comfortable with. In the future we could do a guided tour with subscribers. That would be fun. Where are you from?

When I went Istanbul all the fake market goods are rubbish quality. I bought three trainers and all went in the bin the sole is held together by cardboard and the material isn't even leather it rips after two wears no joke. If you do not believe me you can buy a pair and take the inner sole out you will see it comes of as it is not glued down and underneath is cardboard. under the cardboard is ridged rubber which means putting your own comfie sole won't even work as it will break and tear in the ridges. The trainers and handbag I bought all ripped as the material is rubbish and went i the bin.

Yeah, there are really cheap ones and expensive ones. The $100 pair Gucci Adidas are better than the real ones. You get what you pay for here.

@@Istanbuller To anyone who stays in Istanbul for a holiday my advise would be if your really want to test what I am saying is true then buy any pair of trainers that you think are high quality or even look good then during your stay test them even take the sole of as it will easily come of then if your happy with what you see then buy away to your hears content. I bought three pairs of trainers and learnt they are all rubbish. Local Turkish people do not buy any fakes from these markets just loo at what trainers and goods the local Turkish people wear and you will see that they already know these trainers are garbage they will rather buy non branded trainers that are practical and functional.
