Years ago, I was on the bus with my two very young daughters. I came to my stop, managed to get my younger daughter off in the pram and went to turn around to get my older daughter who was waiting to grab my hand to climb off the bus. The bus doors closed and started to leave. I ran to the front of the bus and banged on the doors. The bus driver stopped the bus, opened the doors and I was able to get my now upset daughter from off the bus. Had the bus been driverless, it wouldn't have stopped and God knows where my daughter may have ended up. Not every idea should be an idea used. I will walk the distance if these horrible things are put into action so that these monstrosities are the only things available. I refuse to go and use any EV vehicle because of how they are made. We're getting a future pushed onto us against our wishes. Let those that want the EV future have it, but let the majority of us keep our normal vehicles.

These computer controlled vehicles are programmed by humans and even the smartest can make mistakes. In the early days of self driving Teslas they forgot to program in pedestrian crossings, a woman Arizona US was run down by Tesla as the person in the car wasn't paying attention.

Three electric buses caught fire in London in the last month..A while ago an electric car caught fire not far from where I live.

Toyota even added the invincible model in their Hilux range after the episode with the indestructible Hilux.

In 1906 the Stanley steamer held the speed record until the 1930’s of 127mph, faster than the Mallard steam train. The steam speed record was held for 103 years.

True story he is talking the truth, one of the blocks I worked on their was a old diesel Toyota that had been sitting in shed for 15 years and it kicked in after not being started in all that time 😀

Self driving bus, what could possibly go wrong. So far car makers haven't produced cars that are full of fail safe parts. We all know governments don't really care about people so where are they going to get their money they get from road fines

No more fines ❤. My Tesla refuses to speed on autopilot already and it's a 2016 car 😂.

Morag must have been so excited at seeing that EV bus😆.

Cars also run on hydrogen made from water well. Done this for years on V8s and a V12 Jaguar xjs. Runs lovely. More power & quieter running engine.

I am more interested in the future, where cars use steam engine than fully battery-powered.

Just for giggles I looked up the top speed of a Stanley steamer. Apparently it could go 127mph, or 204 kmh back in 1906.

SUPERB VIDEO. My mate had a 1979 JPS Black Capri (John Player Special). He is after the new MK 4.

None of these upcoming government bans against gas vehicles are any big secret, but the public still seems oblivious. It's incredibly frustrating. If nothing changes, very soon we will only see EVs on new car lots. By then it will be too late!

Just another way for a company to save paying a wage to an employee, with regards to that horrendously ugly “ intellibus “. Give me a proper driver any day of the week.

Lee that 1914 electric car is the same as your jaguar, charge up every 60km. I owned a 1981 3.0 litre Mercury Capri.

Last vehicle I heard of .That was piloted by an X Box controller. Didn't bode well.

A Good Evening to You lovely Gentlemen. Hope you both are well. Absolutely Loved seeing this Awesome Museum of these Beautiful and Stunning vehicles. I was completely Gob Smacked by the Self Drive Bus. That is the Future. I was really pleased to hear, how many people Volunteer at this Wonderful place. Taking part in different Projects. The most Friendliest and most Warm Welcoming people you could ever meet. What a Lovely person Patrick was. His incredible knowledge about the vehicles was Incredible. To see two of the most Beautiful almost Concorse Level Ford Capri's and there Lovely owners, was the Perfect ending to this Fabulous Film of yours Lee and Dave. This place i would really love to visit for whole day. This was Great Lee. Thank you very, very much for sharing your movie.

Towards it's end, the autonomous car convo revealed a few things about "the study": - the scope of the question had to be narrowed to "computer assistance" not full or even supervised self-drive. - more studies are needed to determine efficacy even in that limited scope

Great museum Lee. Impressive to see. Also a fun fact, the vast majority of the 1990's-2000's BTCC racing cars live in Australia. Also note their is a big motor racing event just outside of Sydney soon called the Bathurst 500, which is the Australians version of the British Touring Car Championship.

A friend's husband went to a public school (uk private school) where the boys were known by their surnames, his friend's was Morris and he had a younger brother so they were called Morris Major and Minor!

Just watch TV advertising, there are people singing and dancing because they sold their car and ‘we buy any car’ adverts, so where are those people singing and dancing because they have bought a car? They want you to sell but not buy!!! “You won’t own anything but you will be happy”.

Those first electric cars had the same problem as today's ones. #batteries suck.

That was a blast from the past as my second car was a caprie 🙂, shameful my first was a Morris Marina. Great video and very interesting. I very much enjoyed this tour of the museum. I never had a real love for any specific car from the past, but I find the ones you featured very interesting. I am glad you are expanding what you cover in your videos. Thanks! Back in the dark ages. I was interested in buying a Capri. The very nasty people at the dealership refused to let me have a test drive. I think they had something to hide. I didn't buy it.

If the supply grid fails totally then everyone has a lot more problems than worrying about whether their car will go. But if there's a local or temporary outage, then an EV is pretty handy because you can use the power in the battery to power essential appliances until it comes back on. A woman in Australia recently used her car's battery to power the fridge that keeps her child's insulin cool, and in another case someone's kidney dialysis was kept going in the same way. If it's a local thing you can even drive your car to where the power is on, fill the battery, and bring that back to power the house. As often as you like. If it's a bigger issue, well my money is on the EVs, particularly in Australia where so many properties have solar power and charge their cars from sunshine. Lots of people in Oz don't even need the supply grid to charge their cars at all. Whereas ICE cars would be completely useless without electrically-operated pumps.

What a great car museum!

Never owned a Capri but I did own a Ford Cortina GT in 1985-1988. Also a Lotus Esprit S3 in 1998-2001 which I miss dearly.

LOVELY. And as part of my miss spent youth in someone's workshop, one Summer he gets to engineer the first Sinclair C 5. Missed out on a first drive but as usual with these things as soon as it neared completion it was off. He spent the rest of his time building superb steam locomotives in 7 1/4 inch gauge. The ones that you sit on the tender and drive with a shovel in hand and a real fire. I also love the Capri. David and Lily. We had some sun today UK.

Brilliant episode Lee always wanted. Capri. Great input from all the rev heads!

My parents had a friend who owned an old checkered cab that he owned as his personal car. The back seat was huge and there were jumper seats that were folded in case you had extra passengers. With the jumper seats you could easily fit 5 people in the back of the car.

Yes they had electric cars at the turn of the 20th century too. And they failed for the same reasons they are failing today - poor range, heavy batteries, long charging times and bad infrastructure. The more things change the more they stay the same

In ICE infancy, they had poor range, expensive, very limited infrastructure. Yet those were spectacularly overcome. Why can't EVs do the same?🤔

@@DwaynePipes because EVs are a flawed concept. ICE cars became dominant very quickly because of their innate advantages. ICE were never range limited by design - if you could find fuel you’d get there.

@@chrisaris8756 Cars became dominant because of Henry Ford. Cars were just tootling along for 20 odd years until he brought in the Model T. Affordability was the driver then and it will likely be one of the main drivers for EVs now. Most people will put any reservations aside if the product is cheap enough. You just need to look to France recently to see that is correct. IMO

The Australian Ford Capri was popular. However, the Capri in Australia was a bit so so, because in Australia, we were more interested in Ford and GM Holden muscle cars. Australia got big cars, big engines due to the wide expanses and similarities to the USA.

Loved the blog very interesting. Brought back memories of the Layland Princess, back in the 70's I was a paint sprayer, and the paintwork on the princess would almost always flack off so I had to strip all the paintwork and respray the car.

Great video Lee, the Ford Prefect was my first car and along the way I had a metallic blue 2ltr Ford Capri GT. Those days are gone, but never forgotten.

I still know a EV will not make the Nullarbor 😂😅 or the true outback 😅

That was an excellent vlog, Lee! I am an auto race fan, very cool to see Ricairdo's F1 car and story about him. I have been to the 24 Hours of Le Mans a few times, including last year for their centennial race! You should go to the Le Mans Museum sometime, it is excellent!
