My brother has loads of shiny first edition Pokemon cards in the loft from the 90s I remember he’s got like 5 shiny charizards and a couple of Japanese ones and a load of others I’m hoping they’re in good condition cause I haven’t seen them for a long time

They aren't even really worth that much lol. A lot of the ones theoretically worth 2k+, mostly the base set (machamp/choke (I don't remember), venasaur, mewtwo) aren't worth that much because they're unlimited, not first edition. I figured that out about my own cards. Unless there's a little "1" on the bottom left below the image, they're probably worth no more than $20, sadly.

Dude, in the 90s and early 00s when Pokemon was popular, like less than 1% of kids kept their cards in good condition. Thats why they are worth so much now. There are very few mint condition cards still in existence

The issue with YuGiOh cards is though even though the designs were incredible it was hard to get the same connection as it was to Pokemon. You play one Pokemon game which most people did and you'd probably seen atleast 140 of the 151 designs. YuGiOh did not make those same connections,

This entire collection is worth like $500. Sick click bait.
