I have watched your videos for a long time now. They are great. I always enjoy them. The other day for the first time, I was suddenly transported, in my mind, to when I was a kid, your equivalent in those days was the Rag and Bone Man. He had a horse and cart, and rang a large brass hand bell, and shouted something indistinguishable, encouraging people to bring out their unwanted items, including scrap metal. Just like you, he sold the items on. Rags had many uses, including upholstery and bedding stuffing. Bone was sold to be burnt and turned into fertiliser.

@@ScrapPalletMan I totally agree actually, I found my love for hobby scrapping during the start of lockdown here in the UK in March. It is totally out of my normal remit, I work as a keyworker with special needs children and I'm a busy Mum of three wonderful children, one of which has Autism too and can be regularly heard in my videos🙂. Life has been full on and I haven't really had anything for 'myself' in the last 10 years, which is totally fine, however, the joy I have found in scrapping and filming my journey is wonderful! I love everything about my new hobby and I love the community of scrappers on youtube out there. You guys are all wonderful and give me such joy to watch, so thank you all for that. I finally have a hobby that I love 🥳 Happy scrapping everyone!!

Our scrap yard you can't have a running tab. Get your receipt and then cash out. That's why I only go when my truck is stuffed, except for the pricey metals. Those I go when the prices are up high. I go to one website that says when the prices are Bad, Good and Great to turn in at your local scrap yard. I have a old wall unit in my garage that i picked up years ago. Still does its job. Holding my coffee cans and laundry containers of brass, copper, lead and a box for circuit boards. And of course those wires.

You are right about good stuff being on top of the bins. They are usually for the men to get first dibs.

Paul, Green slime all of your tires before there is a problem. That stuff is expensive now, but it still works well. back when it was cheap, I slimed my tires all the time before there was a problem, and then I wouldn't have any problems until the tires were like worn out. Maybe there's a similar product out now that works as well but doesn't cost to much. When that stuff caught on, the price really zoomed up.
