Hey, so today at work me and a friend watched as a momma duck tried to drown a baby several times then attacked to til it didn't follow. It was left alone and when all the duck's left and it was still alone we felt bad and I rescued him. Can't get the poor thing to eat but made him a little pond. Any advise,... I could use all the help I can get

I know I'm real late but that thing HATCHED from an egg

so my brother was being followed by a duckling, he brought him home now the duckling get get over me i’ve been taking care of him and he doesn’t eat well,idk what to do i can’t take care of him because i have my finals all week,my dad suggested to take him to a pond,but am worried that the other ducks won’t like him. what do i do?

I know this is very late to the time of the video posting, but I just rescued a baby duckling about that size a few hours ago. What are you feeding it? I'm not sure what to feed mine.

That duckling needs water with every bite! They scoop up food and then use the water to swallow it. Please give him water available at all times!! Especially when eating. Even if it's only one bite. Ducks NEED water while they eat. Do some research on mallard ducks. I too have a lone duckling that is now about 10 weeks old. She fell from a tree in our front yard and momma couldn't get to her since she had younger ducklings not yet ready to leave the nest. So we now have a lone mallard and have thoroughly researched everything about them. Please do some reading up on them. :). Good luck and hope ducky is doing well still

I recently found a baby duck in my back yard... it must of been a few days old. I don't understand why you are feeding the duck on your table. I used my Kitchen sing and gave him a small dish of food and a small dish of water. I feed him many things like corn meal, cut up lettuce, live cut up meal worms, live cut up red worms, yogurt, cottage cheese and grit. He seems to be doing fine and I hope to release him in a few months to this duck sanctuary at Old Nevada. My point is that doing this in the Sink or Bathtub makes the clean up more simple.

Well i think it is a little too late now but for next time bread is NOT the best food for a duckling. Soaked dog food is good for em. Or chicken started/ duckling starter!

It's called Duck Starter, just put a small bowl of water in a big box for him, and a small pile of food, clean it 2x a day, at least, and put some grass in the box too, I just pull out a few handfuls every couple hours.

NO NO NO! NEVER EAT LITTLE DUCK / MALLARD LIKE THAT! You must build a little pool and put the food there in the water ! They can't eat well dry, they eat mostly the water including the food!
