I drove by this place not too far from my place and something told me I should bring my gears and explore this new location. It has some nice features that can potentially hold big bass. It has a waterfall that feeds well-oxygenated water into the basin. The lilypads, grass, trees and bushes around the basin itself offer a good shelter option for frogs and small baitfish. Judging by the number of anglers I saw from the day before I knew that this place it a popular spot for locals and the fish must be under high fishing pressure so I make sure to bring some finesse fishing gears with me.
Sure enough, Drop-shot, small jig bait and NED rig were among the top producers in the morning. Finesse presentations are a must for this kind of situation. After I spent all morning fishing this basin. I moved on to another location and I caught a nice pike to end the day. Overall another great day fishing.
