I Found a Classic Chevy ABANDONED in a Barn for 48 Years & WASHED IT
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This week we met back up with jerry who said he had a 1952 Chevy Sedan sitting in a barn since 1976. as soon as I heard him say that I had to come to his barn and see it for myself! This car was filthy and I didn't expect the customer to call me during the end and to make that deal.. I swear its an addiction. Only car people will understand.

That a nice car and reminds me of the one I had in 1968 that I paid $100.00 for it and drove it for 10 years .Wish I still had it .😊😊
Please restore. These cars are part of a Americana my cousin in Cuba has a 49 deluxe I had the pleasure of driving it 3 on the tree. Awesome thank you for the video.
Pop's here. The front turn signal light frame are 51 model examples.
It looks to be worth putting a frame under, 49 to 54 should be the same, it would be a shame to waste it.

This car is NOT shot. You always do nice work!
The flooring can be rebuilt, rust can be fixed, paint can be matched. Would love to see it restored - you would end up with a treasure
Would be an awesome restoration project!
The floor and frame is easy to fix. Get yourself a forney 110 volt flux welder, 1/4 steel for the frame, 18 gage steel for the floor, and angle grinder with a metal cutting disc, and it wouldn’t be any more labor then what you put in to cleaning it to repair all the bad metal.. then you’d make waaaaaaay more profit when you sell it.. smooth of the rough outside parts, look up the paint code for that year and just fill in what’s bad and feather it off.. then you could even stack waaaay more profit on top of that waaaaay more profit.. and I’m sure the engine spins, so tune up, fluids, battery and ur good to go.. it sounds like a lot but it ain’t. Bet your channel would blow the hell up if u did all that… repaint the rims, new white walls.. then you’d keep her. Guaranteed.. kid stuff super easy. 2k tops in materials.

The emerald green really came out nice! I guess the good news is that this is a body on frame car, and the body (except the front fenders) are in pretty good shape… so putting it on a truck frame seems like a great idea

Yes the paint is pretty, except that front clip, probably just inadequate Prep work!
My great aunt the seamstress had one just like this when was in 3rd grade. I remember when she knitted a front seat cover for it. It was a great old car, so comfortable.
Lots of work to get a new frame and floor pan, but the body and engine look very repairable. A good hobby car for someone out there.

Great fun to see. We had a ‘53 4-door, though black not that swell emerald green, that my Dad drove until ~1967. Had Botha. Heater and a radio, both options at that time!

I love watching these vids with old grampy guys in them, and constantly surprising myself finding out we're around the same age
Our local stock car track started a class called super 6 back in the mid 70's...we bought a 52 exactly like that one...an old woman that had taken it out of a garage that was ready to fall on it.The guy that was welding in the cage called us to come by his shop...when we went he showed us the car had zero rust....we told him to continue because we had a 292 straight 6 ready to go...the car was totaled its 1st.night out...one of many cars we ruined...SMH
Why not get it running and keep it. That would only make since. Don't just give up on it. Everything can be fixed
the C10 is often referred to as a half-ton, short bed pickup, it actually came in two different lengths. There was the 6.5 foot bed that had a 115 inch wheelbase and there was also the full size 8 foot bed with a 127 inch wheel base. 115inch is a perfect match for your car with no frame.

That's NOT a 1952. It's a '51 Style line Deluxe. I know because I had a '52 for 12yrs that I drove around the Bay Area, CA. I swapped the engine out for a '59 235ci with a whopping 135hp. Mine also had a two spd Powerglide automatic transmission and dual exhaust (Fenton headers) and was a 4dr Sedan and it was also dark green. my favorite color. I bought it in 1994 in Oakland,CA where it lived it's whole life being owned by a Dr. who made house calls with it. Great find and have fun with it. If it were me I'd keep it as original as possible.

Advice from a a pro YT watcher lol, you're doing good, no long intro, no long yapping, to the point, no pleading for subs and likes. Just go easy on the music it adds nothing. thank you.
The main indicators of year model in the front of the 1952; the center crossbar of the grill has five vertical ribs and it has larger turn lenses. A 1951 has no ribs, and smaller lenses with a series of vertical slots next to them. I believe you have a '51.
Love the shade of green
Hi Dane, As much as I don't like green, for how old that car is the paint is pretty good. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Yo what pad did you use for the paint bro
1951 chevy 2 door deluxe sedan, fathom green with a 216 inline 6. All original like that is a very desirable car! You need to get that mold cleaned for sure. The seats have old warshowski catalog, sears or Montgomery wards seat covers on them, so juat remove the covers the seats might be perfect underneath! You should put a battery in it and get it running! Parts are plentiful! If youre close to milwaukee or chicago i could come help you get it running and driving ive been restoring cars for my whole life(im 40). Frames can be had easily, lots of 4 door sedan parts cars around or you could fix the frame if you can weld.
Es muy bonito . Bellísimo . I follow you from Barcelona (Spain)
GG! You have to restore this gem! Or at least make sure someone gets it, who will. I know that you realize how fortunate you are to have this car.

Is it worth the expense tho? That car is not valuable at all and not collectable or desirable. In nice driveable - non rusty condition it might bring 3 grand.
@charlesstenton4267
Ай бұрын
@@norm-nas I would check price guides again I feel. If a 51 Chevrolet sings to you and gives the nostalgia feeling of being there. Then price is secondary. My great aunt had a 49 coupe, close friends of the family had a dark green four door like the rough find shown so history matters.
I had a 51 Pontiac with that same body style. My friend used to say hard to tell if it was coming or going
Now that's a heavy machine not like that plastic junk they build to day
That's what my '52 4-door looked like when I bought it for $10 in 1971. Unlike these guys, Dad and I were lucky enough to drive mine home! Went through the same processes they went through without a pressure washer. Had to wash mine before I could put in the garage to work on it. When you lift the hood, you should see a 235 6 cylinder mated to either a 3-speed or a powerglide tranny. Looks good though.
Hermoso el chevrolet... Arranco ? Funciona ? Suerte !
Nice work man she popping
Aluminum foil works better on chrome than steel wool
Is that jus steel wool,?
Hey buddy, if you look hard enough you'll find a frame to stick under that car. That's a really cool looking car you got there
My older brother had a 54 Chevy he drove for several years before he got a Buick wildcat. Sadly he passed away in 79 .
I gotta ask...what is it about nearly every old car about to be revived that the air cleaner is missing?. I'm from that era and don't recall anyone removing the air cleaner when they were finished driving the car.
good show 😎👍
Such a beautiful car, to bad the last owner didn't take care of it, some people just take these cars for granted and just never wash them when there is salt on them thats one of the main reasons cars rust no matter what age it is hope it gets restored soon
I'd do a mild custom with it. Mustang II ifs, lowering springs out back. Probably keep the original driveline (Add 3.55 gear if not there) Convert to 12v. system and drive it. Obviously, the rust situation needs to be replaced. In the local Craigslist (socal), I've seen frames cheap. But that's what I would do. Long story short restore it but leave it as a suvivor (which it is)
Cars back then in the rust belt only lasted 4 maybe 5 years before body parts started falling off. There probably isn't much more rust there than there was when it was parked.
Seems like it's worth fixing up to me, but I'm no expert. We had a 1952 Chevy, that was the same body style. It was white with blue trimming!
Shame about the floor. Floor can be fixed easy but if the chassis is as bad as it looks here it's a parts car unfortunately. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. Best of luck, hope it sees the road again.
What you have there is a car with all original parts, all you need is some frame and sheet metal - that's just metalworking. The hardest part in restoring is to find the detail parts that doesn't exist anymore.
I am in Australia and I got a 51 Chevrolet out of a shed on a farm got it going it was a beautiful car dark blue grey leather trim carpet in the rear rubber in the front no rust whatso ever beautifuly made car. That one definatley parts body off frame. frame repaired with new steel floor redone if they still make them, the engine would survive a nuclear bomb they are tough
KEEP IT
Nice car!
This car is like practically mint and that rust is very fixable you should definitely fix that it's worth big bucks
Dave, That car would be perfect for a body drop onto a Chevy S10 Blazer frame and floor
By another friend. Transfer all the good parts please✊️😎
My father had a 51 stylline coupe. Same Green color with all the accessories. Bad shape? Yes, but not as bad as I've seen. Definately could be saved. Would hate to see this scrapped. Lots of good parts there.
Respect ❤
Fix it weld frame patch floor pan n keep it like it is but disc power brakes n LS it beautiful sleeper I've seen worse that has been fixed n road worthy 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Normally I don't like it when cars get back halved for epic tubs with tube chassis etc. It's a prime candidate to be a gasser style drag car!
Good Motor old fashioned Straight 6
Same as my first car also same color hope you find some use for this car hope you do not use it has a parts

Repair the frame and get it on the road nice car !
Get you a good East Tennessee body shop man. Can replace the floor in that car it's worth being restored.
Frame off restoration. I did it on a 1948 Chevy as an auto shop project in high school back in 1988. Or, If the project seems too much for you, sell the car to someone who knows how to restore them
Tip : Old paint would chip off because of the lead , lead paint stopped in 1976 . Maybe the car was not in an accident
It's a '51, not a '52. I have one in my garage.
