Correct. You can see that his opponent probably blundered. At 8:00 his opponent made two attacking moves in a decisive way apparently believing he was winning, but then the guy played cow made a counterattack move, and his opponent was completely shocked.

I don't even play chess. I just love your energy so I watch your content. I know how the pieces move on the board but that's about it.
The Cow rules! So glad that you decided to play it. The result was icing on the cake. Loved the giggling from all of you. I do play the Cow occasionally. I've found that after I tilt, the Cow helps me refocus my moves and thinking. Plus, it is just a fun opening to play. No matter what others might say, the Cow is a beautiful opening.

Hi Anna, I like this format a lot. You explaining your moves during play. Thank you.
Wow, I learned a lot from this. I really appreciate how Anna describes the game. It’s was cool to see her have that much fun✨
the arrows with the commentary are so good for beginners to understand what is going on... thank you!
Great Game Anna! Finished him off in record time! Hope you are successful in the balance of your games!
The guy next to you won with the cow!
Since chess is, ultimately, a fairly simple game (for reasons) I think it would be a good practice for tournements to embrace exactly this kind of madness and have "theme" rounds where everyone is in fact scripted to attempt a certain matching strategy, or a this-vs-that strategy, just to see how various players would work out the specified variations. It would be fun like this, and it would help developing players develop more well-rounded skills in understanding the various main approaches to the stages of the game.
I love a little comedy in the morning. So far, this made my day. Maybe I'll comment after the game...good luck to the both of you.
I hope all competitor played well 😊

Anna, you will go down in history as inventing a new opening, forever remembered as having the sight to try something new and make the game more exciting, kudos to you!
Fun to watch. Congratulations.
talk about milking the cow 😁
I was skeptical at first, but it has worked quite well for me. Currently pondering d4, the london cow system.
OMG!! This was soooooooo funny!! Loved it! ❤❤

I could hear her dad saying - La vaca 🤣🤣
Now that was a nicely narrated stampede with a perfect score.
Holy sh*t. This was more spectacular then a Oceans Eleven movie. Nice going to you both!
Congrats Anna for 1M!
When you advance the A and H pawns two squares each as part of the scripted opening, you're playing what I like to call "The Bull Variation" as it looks like there are horns. It was fun to see Anna play it that way. I felt confident Anna was going to win that game because she was advancing and attacking more. In other words, she was playing to win whereas her opponent seemed like he was playing not to lose. Of course I give him credit for being willing to play The Cow in the first place. Thank you for showing us an entertaining game.
Holy Cow....

“May the Cow be with you.”
consider the achievement 1. inventing an opening 2. at a tournament, a whole role of players knows it already. 3. they agree to play, officially, in the tournament
Anna Cramling, please never stop playing the Cow opening. We need to learn more and more about it. Please milk that Cow dry. Please milk that Cow till the last drop. 🐮

I so like this girl, she is always cheerful

That cow opening is interesting, sort of a close/conservative version of the late 1920's cross-bishop/knight-flanking fortress strategy that comes from pushing both royal pawns 2 squares forward instead of 1. The advantage of your cow opening, it seems to me, is that it can't really be interrupted, while the full 2-push fortress can be a fight to establish as a sub-goal unto itself. The full fort has the advantage of allowing development by more pieces on more angles before attacking (I used to refer to it as "strangle chess") but on the downside it often takes some sacrifices or repositioning moves to enable it. I played to establish the full fortress version for many years (long ago when it was still an obscure/forgotten strategy), and it was an absolute frustration for anyone who faced it. I think your cow opening, while more conservative, has the possibility of some explosive attacks depending on how the second wave of moves unfolds. It starts out very safe, but for bold fast play, you could overwhelm people with the angles it affords if you throw bishop-queen combos out there aggressively, willing to make trades and fall back on a 2-knight chokehold on center board. When I played the cross-fortress against people who opened both kights jumping their pawn row, it made a bit of a faceoff for a while, but they were ultimately tangled up with their other power pieces still behind the undeveleped pawns row. Your cow opening solves that by getting those royal pawns to open up the bishop and queen angles to assert to either side. Most players don't do as well facing a two-sided attack position, although once you get into master levels they will probably have the "chops" to think so bi-laterally as you do. As a result, I think throwing the cow at newer players will help them develop more total-board consciousness, but it will face more trouble against people of your own caliber who can formulate an offside board strategy quickly. "Does that seem right to you?"
Anna, get ready to celebrate 1m subscription!
they were all on the mooove
Muchas gracias de nuevo por explicar el juego. Es de gran utilidad y entretenimiento
