I hear you, love. There was so much stress in the weeks before I left for this trip and even the morning I was going to the airport, it was like all of this stuff was trying to test me or keep me where I was. So glad I kept moving forward and pushed through it all to get to Japan. That feeling of realising it was all worth it and you're in the right place was so good. I know you'll get there too :)

Great to see the 'new' you 🎉🎊🥳. This video is full of smiles and sparkles 🥰. A change is indeed as good as a holiday. My brother was there in Feb for 3 weeks and did Tokyo, Hakone, Nagano Alps, Kyoko and Hiroshima. He absolutely loved everything there, especially the people.

With your positive energy and glass half full attitude, you make travelling anywhere fun 😃😃 Japan has been on my bucket list for a while, I love the culture and history of this oriental nation, and I'm a bit of history buff, so I definitely want to go and check out the older districts to see the Okiyas where the famous movie 'memoirs of a geisha' were filmed, as well as remnants from the ww2 period of history in Japan. The Japanese people strike me as warm, hospitable but also very proud of their unique culture, and its great to see you've incorporated this in your other video series of Japan. You're on a new journey now, Phoebe, and it's great to see you embracing that. Travelling heals the soul, and I hope that as time goes on, your cultural, food and friendship experiences bring you more and more strength and happiness 😊😊😇

Hiya! How are you doing? Impulsively buying flight tickets, that’s how I get to London to often! Seat anxiety, didn’t know about that as a term, but I might have the same. I need to have the window seat, always! Japan is an amazing destination, it’s the best Asian country I’ve been to, and the Japanese people always were so kind. What’s your Japanese toilet experience? I think we need them in Europe too! The Japanese sweets are so good, after my Tokyo trip I subscribed to Tokyotreat and got a box of Japanese food every month, but I quit it due to my allergies, and there was too much stuff I can’t eat in there. oh my gosh the toilets hahaha every single toilet I saw in Japan was pristine and modern, it's amazing! Sometimes all those buttons are a little overwhelming, I won't lie :) Ahhh yes, of course, you're gluten free, right? I can imagine that would be a tough one when it comes to sweets boxes like that. Thanks for giving James such a lovely welcome - it was so good having a friend to travel with and one that's a KZreadr too! Just makes the whole filming/photography process so much more fun :D

Welcome to Japan! The mochi ice cream is called 雪見だいふく (yukimi-daifuku), and the one you ate has a mitarashi sauce in it. Mitarashi sauce is made of sugar, soy sauce, water and potato starch. It's usually used on dango, a savory snack with mochi like texture. I need to recommend you the たけのこの里 (takenoko-no-sato) for the chocolate snack. It's like a rivalry snack of きのこの山 (kinoko-no-yama) that you ate. They are both released from same company, but there are tons of fans for each product, and disputes happen a lot between those fans. I like the cookie part of たけのこの里, and hope you like it too!

Hi, I'm a Japanese living in the countryside of Japan (Kyushu), far away from Tokyo. I can understand your hype feeling. When I went to Tokyo, I also felt happy just walking down the street, and when I was walking around in a happy mood, passersby thought I was a crazy person Lol. I had been living a life in which walking the streets of Tokyo was a dream come true, but at that moment, I could no longer contain my heartbeat as I remembered that my imagination had finally become reality. You are so beautiful. All the best. Your hair is so pretty. I really want to travel to all the places I want visit and go to new places everyday. It would mean the world to me and make me so happy if I travel all the time. I am 26 years old, stuck in my parents house almost the whole day. I go to therapy twice a week, so depressing. Wish life wasn’t this way. I just want to do what makes me happy and I know traveling all the time/going out to new places will make me happy. I wish you a life full of joy, peace, and positivity. I hope you wish the same for me. Hopefully I do get to travel to all the places I want to soon ♥️

At the time I was there there wasn't a requirement to wear them :) I remember the first time I visited Japan, way before the plague, I noticed lots of people worse masks and when I asked a local about it they said it was most likely because that person wasn't feeling well and wanted to be polite and not spread their germs. Japan is truly amazing! Such kind, considerate people.

My impulse purchases are much lamer, wheelbarrow from Bunnings or new Kettle from Briscoes😕

Thank you so much :) Literally EVERYONE we met in Japan was so lovely - it made the whole experience even more wonderful! The people are one of the things that keeps me coming back to Japan :) Great people, delicious food, beautiful scenery and so much fun!

Tokyo one of our fav places to visit for food…..went back in Feb 2023 & it was nice to see new businesses emerging but also a little sad that some good spots have closed
