Guys, I can tell you that even in the beginning of 2000s I felt uncomfortable saying Europeans and Americans that I was Russian, bc the reaction to that was either awkward or sometimes not very friendly. Some didn’t hesitate to humiliate me just because) So what I have to say is that it didn’t all start in 2022, it all started decades before this date. Regardless of what I feel about the Ukrainian conflict I will never be ashamed of my nationality, my language or my country. And if you feel the need to bully me for that, well, so be it. It is your own responsibility. Hate, whether turned inward or out, creates a destructive state of mind that wreaks havoc with your physical health and emotional well-being. So if that’s what you’re looking for in life, so be it.

It's not about bullying it's about seeing you as a people for what your are: a people with blood on your hands and a dark and sinister past, present and future. The point is this time you will not be trusted again and the fact that you can speak as you do - as though your are not collectively responsible - is sick! And you have the audacity to talke about a destructive state of mind wreaking havoc when you are destroying a country and people, your own boys are being slaughtered and you threated nuclear attacks. That is what you Russians are looking for in life. How do you sleep at night? Clear off!

I mean, I never been adroad in the west, but even being at home I feel that. For example I played game yesterday, some guy joined me, we played together, talk, having fun, and he asked my name. I told him: "Dmitry" He asks: "Are you Russian?" I said: "Yes" And he disconnected immidiatly. And this isn't a rare situation by any mean. I know it for sure, as soon as they get to know that I'm Russian they will eather kick me, or mute, or ban, or steal my loot. Even if we were fine before they know it.

There is no such amazing city as Moscow anywhere. Clean, comfortable, cheap, beautiful 15 million megalopolis. I am sincerely convinced that this is the best time and place to travel to Mother Russia.

I started learning Russian in 2021, after a life-long fascination with the culture and the language. I just recently found your channel, and I love your philosophy and approach to learning the language. I would love to go there and travel, but didn't know how it'd be with the current political climate... kinda the exact thing that you were addressing here. I live in the US, and Russia seems so far away and I've never even been to Europe.. so idk how I would go there, but I'd like to find a way. Thanks for another great vid!

Человеческое разнообразие крайне ограниченно, всего около 8 миллионов вариантов, причем речь про всех вместе взятых, от черных до азиатов. В любой более-менее крупной стране твоих внешне точных копий всегда будет целая пачка. Но это не так заметно как раз потому, что разный возраст, разные прически, кто-то толстый, кто-то худой, кто курит и портится, кто-то ухаживает за собой.

moscow is not really car dependent now as public transport and metro are so good, and automobilization is slowly stopping as cars got more expensive too, but it is still very difficult to bike as there are only very few bike lanes and only in center. i wish moscow was designed like amsterdam

I've been in russia for the past four months. I have been confronted several times for being American. It's usually from drunk guys near the bars. If not for the people I was with, I would have likely had to defend myself physically for maybe two of these instances. Though I am in the far eastern part of Russia where most people have never been in contact with an American. In Moscow I'm sure my experience would be different. I have to say though, that the majority of people here in the east are very welcoming and fascinated by my presence. Its quite easy to make friends here.

Russian people tend not to smile that often due to their closed behavior towards strangers. When people tend to know you more and open up - that's when you can see true emotion, smiles and trust. While in most other countries and America it is more of an etiquette thing and people tend to not be that openminded when you get close to them. Those smiles are not that sincere and is basically politeness.

Отличный месседж в конце. Нам бы тоже хотелось. Но так выходит, что международные договоренности с РФ нарушаются Западом. Не расширение Нато ("а мы вообще не обещали"), Минские соглашения ("а мы не планировали их соблюдать" сказала Меркель), зерновая сделка (2% зерна ушло туда куда обещали, 0% выполненных обещаний для РФ). Пока это выглядит как попытки играть в карты честно за столом с ворами/преступниками. И в данный момент РФ встала из-за стола, перестала играть. И те самые воры зовут ее обратно. Нет. Нужен новый стол. И ворье должно быть наказано по закону. Так что месседж в конце должен быть направлен в тем людям, которые русских за людей не считают, которые дискриминируют русских по национальному признаку (не это ли определение нацизма?) - пусть они вылезут из своего дремучего нацизма, перестанут совершать преступления и посадят воров. Тогда можно будет говорить про новую "партию в карты".

Нет большой разницы между русскими которые были за границей и теми кто там никогда не был. Ну да, где-то едят лягушек, а где-то собак - это удивительно, но не более того. Культурного шока не будет. Ну просто потому что мы любопытны, нам интересно знать как живут люди в Африке, Латинской Америке, США и Европе. Больше поражает почему европейцы этот шок испытывают (это не относиться к автору, но в общем). На Ютубе полно роликов в реальном времени о жизни в Москве и других городах России. Пропаганда везде есть, но и Интернет тоже. И это тоже любопытно. Т.е. обыватель на Западе верит СМИ, а зайти в Интернет, который они же и придумали, и посмотреть как на самом деле, в голову им не приходит

А я, как человек, переехавший из небольшого города, сначала в Москву, затем несколько лет проживший за пределами России, не соглашусь с этим. Одно дело посмотреть из любопытства в интернете, другое - прожить, прокомментировать и получить опыт и эмоции. Путешествия (даже в рамках нашей страны), меняют нас как личность, наполняют новым опытом. Я вижу эту разницу даже по людям, которые остались в моем городе: как они меняются, если начинают исследовать мир, хотя бы выбравшись в путешествие большие города. Смотря чужие видео вы смотрите на чужой опыт, иногда даже построенный на хайпе или стереотипах, как то, что где-то едят лягушек и собак, попробуйте найдите в Париже что-то подобное (мне не удалось) 😂 это как первое, что я опровергаю, как русская, что все пьют водку и ходят вечно пьяные. Так что путешествия определенно меняют людей, неважно, русские они или нет

No other city in the UK gets as much investment as London! New underground, new overground trains, new airport expansions, new residential development - all in London… meanwhile cities like Bradford, Grimsby, Sunderland, Cumbria all left undeveloped! So it’s a world problem, not just Russian problem! You need to “scream beyond” propaganda! Bye 👋

@@screambeyond not true. but you have to look in an unbiased way. krasnodar, anapa ,yekaterinburg, st petersburg...to name a few in brutal poverty ? i live in the netherlands and have many friends from russia on facebook. most of them are pretty satisfied. i guess you have a lot to learn. you are refferring to our msm, and many people seem to believe it, without other sources..... only in moscow....yeah right 🤭🤭

Not true, i’ve been in good missions to Russia many times! But if you just read some of the comments here, you must realise, that for too many people it’s not worth it, to travel there right now! You know, what’s their problem! We are all welcome, when we go there, support the war and Putin and are singing RUSSIA RUSSIA everyday… A pity that i can’t link you this text now…but this is what is expected! Don’t critize, don’t speak out loud, neither try to say something and they, Russia is the best country in the world and we do not need YOU… And this mentality isn’t mine, absolutely!

@@framestomind7548 I went through Norway, to the north of Russia, to Murmansk, from Norway by bus to Murmansk and from there by plane to Moscow. The documents for the visa were made to me for a little time

Relations are bad only with Western countries. Everything is fine with other countries. I don't think Russia does visas on landing, so definitely check online whether/how you should get a visa or not. I do know that in 2020 or so Saint Petersburg was going to experiment with e-visas, but I'm not sure what the results were of that.

No, such visas can get only people from Bahrain, Brunei, India, Indonesia, Iran, Cambodia, China, Korea (north), Kuwait, Laos, Malaysia, Mexico, Myanmar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Thailand, Turkey, Philippines. Only one requirement - before of visit need to book a hotel. Citizens of other countries (Latin America, exUSSR, South Africa and some other) no need visa at all. By rumors this year will be returned e-visas for countries from EU.

I am an American living in Moldova learning both Romanian and Russian. I am here working with Moldovan orphans and Ukrainian refugees (for the most part, although one of my friends is Russian and married to a Ukrainian woman). I really enjoy learning Russian and took a 2 month course from Fedor at BeFluent. It is quite stupid when people are rude to regular citizens who have no say in what their government is doing, good or bad.

Hey, I have a question. I am from the Netherlands too. I am going to Russia too. I am visiting my fiance. Ari, where do you exchange your euro's to Rubles? Is this still possible? Do you have any advice for my travels?

I usually exchange directly with people I know that travel ocasionally to Europe. From what I understand euros are in demand in Russia now, so I'd see if I can find something that pays better than the normal rate.
