I finished my Porsche 912 restoration (43 years off the road)
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
I did it. This old Porsche 912 is back on the road after being in a garage for 43 years. This process taught me so much. I'm extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to buy and refresh this old car. A big thank you to my wife for being the amazing woman she is, and supporting me complete a dream like this. Thank you to my great friend Andrew, for letting me do this project in his shop space. Thank you to everyone who's supported me by simply watching and commenting on my videos. I don't have a business, this is just for fun. I'll never forget this experience. Stayed tuned to see what happened in the following months with this old car.
To anyone who's considering a restoration of an old car, I'd tell you that it's worth it. You'll spend more than you thought. It will take longer than you expect. But you'll come out different. You'll learn a lot, and be glad you did.

These cars need folks like you to bring them back. The engine starting up must have almost been as got as having a kid. Congrats.

They won't restore themselves! It was a great moment, no doubt
I like the factory rebuild! You had the option for power adders, but the improved stock aspect is what makes this car amazing! 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 So sick!!
Well done for getting it over the line fella.

Old cars have their ups and downs. Nice car mate! Thnx
Not trying to talk smack about your mechanical abilities, but doesn't the engine go in the front?! Dude that's such a huge accomplishment congratulations! Thank you for the update! Hope you get the bugs sorted out soon so you can really enjoy all your work.

@michaelgideon6422 of course man I've been enjoying you documenting the journey.
Happy to see a new YT video instead of just insta :) P.S. not sure if you heard the news about Deus... they opened a new location near us on PCH in newport and are opening a 2nd location in LA with resturant (like the Deus Lodge in UK). Still down for a coffee if you ever are lmk.

You're awesome. This comment gave me a huge smile.
Man I’m so happy that you got it started- I was a bit concerned when your friend wasn’t standing guard at the engine bay when you cranked it over (the last thing you want is a fuel leak to ruin your day!) . The great thing about these cars is, it’s probably a simple fix.
Thumbs up

Great vid, great journey. Nice to a see this old PCar moving on its own. I enjoy this channel because of the shared experience of bringing back a couple of my own… both of which continue to deliver smiles, tears, cussing and memories only possible with years of tremendous spousal support

Nice! SWB 912’s are cool. Probably a small issue like a ground that came loose. Next step paint correction on the single stage paint?

It's taken me 5 years to get my 66 912 on the road , so I feel your pain , but a bit more effort and will be sweet , mine took so long because I now make over 140 items for the early models . Wish mine was og paint . Looks ace 👌

haha I feel this comment. It's a roller coaster owning an old car. Thanks for being here for it
i loved my 912 back in the 70s but always fearful it would break down and bankrupt me like it did the previous owner but it never had a problem just rust in front pan to suspension but back then only 400 to fix
Electrical bug. Hope a simple check of fuses and connectors solves it.
