Your twitch chat was a bit crazy there. Crisis Core DOES spoil the story. If you must, I highly recomend you to play original FF7 first. If you don't, then you wanna go to rebirth blindly.

IMO, I wouldn't play Crisis Core until after you complete either the OG game or complete the new trilogy. Not sure where things will fall with the Remake, but Crisis Core while it does happen before FF7, one of the big surprises from in the story would kind of be like "oh yeah, we knew that because of crisis core"

The remake was made for og players as well, play the og and you’ll see remake has changed the story for those who even finished the og and know what’s gonna happen. I’d say og then crisis core

They didn't really change the story, just expanded on it and made it more convoluted. The OG still happened and is still canon in the Remake series.

Awww thank you~!! I’m currently going to be playing persona 3 reloaded but after that I’ll continue my FF7 journey with the DLC, OG FF7, crisis core and hopefully rebirth~!!

Crisis Core is important before the next one.. play it please you will understand it adds up to the rebirth game

So yeah…..this games ending revealed itself not as a remake but the start of an adventure concluding approaching 30 years of final fantasy 7 lore Here is some things to keep in mind In the OG game Whispers did not exist Destiny was not a plot point Sephiroth was never seen in Midgar And without going into detail Something happened in the event of the final chapter that makes the story final fantasy 7 impossible to play out as it does in the orginal game

I have an addendum to your points. In the original, there were no whispers, however Aerith did have the planet speaking to her, guiding her, and in the context of remake, the whispers are part of the planet. They are just doing more heavy lifting by actively playing a role in keeping the story on track by physically intervening. Sephiroth IS seen in Midgar in the original (like a version did kill Shinra), but in what form is the question. Again, more apparent by more forced appearances . The truth about the true nature of Remake isn’t actually explained, other than the dev staff straight up explanations. However, what is interesting are the changes in Intermission DLC where Yuffie isn’t in the original, and is straight up speculation as to if this is part of the story changes from the original or a scenario where we would have to imagine what would have happened back in the original if Yuffie wasn’t optional. Her integration and what we see in the DLC are very interesting if you played Dirge of Cerberus.

Some people seem to think that they will change the entire history of the game, but the directors of Rebirth themselves have stated that everything from the original will be present in these new parts. So, I wouldn't recommend playing if you don't want to encounter spoilers, especially Crisis Core or the OG.

I wouldn't suggest playing crisis core if you don't want spoilers for OG FF7 so I'd honestly just go DLC then FF7 Rebirth. OG Final Fantasy VII, then Crisis Core, then if you want to watch FF7 Advent Children you can but it's kinda up in the air if Advent Children is even Canonical.

I'm willing to bet good money that Advent Children is canonical. I've never heard anything from official sources stating otherwise. It would make absolutely zero sense if it wasn't.

You're asking important questions regarding the story and if remake trilogy is essentially going to follow the same story. The devs have so far been vague. They clearly intend for people to be able to enjoy these without prior experience with the franchise. I think the best way would be to play the old stuff but that's up to you. :)

awesome playthrough. The way this game series is set up, Remake is taking us on a nostalgic and new journey. To understand this series more, I would recommend playing OG, then CC then Rebirth.

This game pretty much assumes you played the older games and watched the follow up movie. Also, I believe there is certain things from Ever Crisis mobile game will probably show up. There is an original story for First Soldier. The game is still active, and they plan to have the whole series in playable form. The others are really cliff notes of it but pretty worth it. There will be two brand new stories for us in the states. The first I just mentioned, and the other is one that was Japan exclusive till now. Not in the game yet which will be Before Crisis. They are trying to figure out what do with it. Since they had a lot of playable characters. The Turks where guest party members as well. Definitely at least watch videos on the Ever Crisis First Soldier before Rebirth. It is many years before the main stories. Sephiroth is a Teenager in it.

So glad you finally finished FF7 and just in time for P3 as well Also since you finished it I have some good questions again 😂 1. What was your favorite moment with Tifa. 2. From what you can remember, which chapter was your favorite. 3. Which character you hated the most, and which character you liked the most.

Omgg these are really good questions! I’m excited to answer them and I can’t wait to start P3!! Also feel free to answer these questions as well cause I’d love to hear your answers too 🥰 1. I really liked the scene where cloud hugged her in the flower field! Even though it was a really sad scene I feel like Cloud slowly started to become less of a brick wall after that moment~! And it was a cute scene 😌 2. I really liked the Wall Market chapter (we saw Tifa and Aeriths beautiful dresses, cloud in his medieval dress, and the dancing 💃) but I also liked the haunted chapter and the one where we helped Leslie get back his necklace~! 3. Characters I hate: HOJO AND DON!! They are trashhh!! I hope they become a boss so I can beat them up 🥊 and I hate Rufus too lmfaoo Characters I like: besides the main cast like Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Barrett, Jessie, Biggs, etc. I really love Leslie and Tseng! I hope we see more of them in rebirth 🥰

For me I like Aerith more (nothing against Tifa she's baby girl but Aerith feels special to me) so my favorite scene with Aerith is when she and cloud were sitting in the playground, and they had a special moment together. It really felt magic and heart warming 2. Same Wall Market was my favorite because it just felt so lively and was so much fun. I also liked the chapter were you had to take Jessie home and that fight with the biker soldier dude, I just enjoyed the midgar atmosphere walking around Jessie's neighborhood 3. Characters I hate : Sameeeee hojo and the don need to go but I hate the don most of all, something about him just pisses me off too much. Ayo nah keep my man Rufas's name out your mouth 👊😂 Characters I liked : obviously main cast as well, but yes Leslie is underrated af and I love him. I also really like the turks, Reno and Rude were such fun characters. And Sephiroth cause his badass (bro just joins the game and starts mumbling about "reunion", and starts F'ing up stuff 😂)

Yessss Aerith is such a sweetie!! I love her a lot! And omg the bike ride was sooo hard but it’s cool to see you enjoyed it~!! I also felt so bad for Jessie cause all she wanted to do was act and have her parents proud 🥲 LMFAOOO Rufus gonna catch my hands one day 🥊 but honestly Reno and Rude are good picks~!! And ya Sephiorth is so weird just popping out of no where and mumbling god knows what 😫 but at least he’s pretty lmfaoo

I really like how they reference scenes and moments from pre FF7, the literal last battle with Sephiroth and the Post Credits of OG FF7

@@SuhtiredYou can definitely play CC before the original you want. A lot of people play it after remake before rebirth, though I personally think CC is better after rebirth but I don’t know yet. It’s up to you of course.

OG and CC will basically spoil 90% of every twist in Rebirth and Part 3. Chat were lying their asses off. They just wanted her to play CC no matter if it made sense or not. I would only recommend CC if you have already played OG before Remake. CC will definitely make some scenes less confusing but that's because it's spoiling all the intrigue..m

@@Suhtired i don't have ps5 either. I watched ff16 demo gameplay on KZread to check if it's any good, I liked it so much that i later watched the whole game's playthrough.

The people you fought Sephiroth with are the people you did the most with throughout the game. You must have not did Aerith's sidequests. Whoopsie

super strange then you didn't get her as a party member at the end OR her scene at her house. you got tifa instead. aerith's is the best there too if you havent watched it@@Suhtired

@@Suhtired it has to do with the fight before the sephiroth battle, with the arbiter of fate. the game has an internal scoring system judging how each charater is fighting keeping track on who does most damage, who killed the most of those 3 guys that you kept fighting, who did the most limit breaks etc. You will ALWAYS get Aerith or Tifa as your first party member to rejoin, the game will compare their scores and the higher score will join..........which typically winds up being Tifa since she is more specced for doing damage in most parties then after the girl is decided the game will compare Barrets score to whoever is left over, if he has a higher score you get him the problem with that is.........if Aerith is you Dedicated healer, well she is not generating points in the arbiter of fate battle. so you will more then likely go into the battle with the final boss WITHOUT a healer

Anyone who spoils Nibelheim to someone who has not yet experienced the story of FF7 (Which Crisis Core does) is objectively a bad person. My opinion.

Crisis Core won't spoil Rebirth. Rebirth is both a remake and also a sequel rolled into one. You can really play the games in any order, but I would recommend playing Crisis Core before going into Rebirth. OG isn't necessary, but I would play it at some point just to see how everything originally played out. The entire game you just played is only like the first 4 hours of the OG game lol.

If you don't know the story nothing gets spoiled at all because you aren't even aware that what you are seeing is a "spoiler" until you get that same reveal later that makes it all make sense. If you olay the other games first, you just get different information at different points and no matter what order you play the games in, you'll be just as confused and there will be just as many impactful twists to the story, it just won't necessarily be the same things that are the plot twist to you versus someone who played the games in a different order. Simply put, it's just not necessary at all to play the OG before Crisis Core if you played remake first, you just feel that it is because you already know the story as a whole.

@@TwistedSislerWhat do you mean, it won't spoil Rebirth? CC end literally gives you answers to all of Rebirth's story about Cloud. The Nibelhelm scene in CC alone gives you what you need to answer Rebirth's story. CC was released after OG, so it's supposed to be played with the knowledge of OG story. I understand you can sometimes play a prequel first, but this not like God Of War Ghost of Spartan where story does not overlap with the main God of War games.
