I find the craziest things out in the woods metal detecting

Ойын-сауық

Way out in the forest I found a couple of places that are really wild. While metal detecting I found a loggers camp from the mid 1900s and dug up a bunch of old stuff. The while exploring the old overgrown farmland I followed a stone wall down to a river. The old rock walls that the settlers built to from a boundary for their land went across the same river twice to finish off the corner of this massive square. It really was unreal the way it went down into the ravine, corned off and went right back down and across. Using your metal detector while exploring will help you find old places for sure.

I love detecting in the woods too! So far I found some hand-hammered nails made before 1800 but they’re in rough shape. The previous owner of my house was the first recorded person to develop this land, so the previous inhabitants predate our land records. I think I have piece of an oxen shoe too. I had no idea what it might be until I saw this video. True history isn’t written in books. It’s under our feet!

Us New Englanders like to bury stuff. Farming equipment, cars, people, weapons, towns, you name it.

You have amazing navigation skills Charlie. Didn't find much but it was a nice hike listening to the sounds of nature. And the beautiful stream. Thank you for such a nice walk in the woods.😊

Thank you Charlie for the adventure seeing some beautiful scenery ! I might never see as I'm 68 and don't get to travel much anymore ! I would love to be able to come up that way just to see the beautiful scenery ! I've driven in almost every state West of the Mississippi River except Minnesota , Louisiana , Montana and Nevada ! East of the Mississippi River I've been to Wisconsin Illinois , Indiana , Kentucky , Ohio , West Virginia and Pennsylvania !

Im surprised you dont carry a longer handled shovel to make easier work of things. I drag my Barracuda most places i go. I get that you cover some miles out there and i guess with the camera gear etc., you need to liggten the load. Great video as usual!

@Not Thursday Charlie, those cool bridges you come across from time to time, have you considered hunting in the water downstream from them? Just a thought. Really enjoyed the adventure today!
