Should you tune your Toyota tacoma? that's the question I always asked myself, and never took the time to do any research. I went on Forums and saw some mixed emotions about it. I recently attended overland expo PNW and a Subscriber by the name of Paul came over and said hello, he explained every single step and pros about tuning and I decided why not try it! I am so glad I did, the truck drivers like a Dream. Better Than Ever! I hope this short video helps.

Wow surprised you're not tuned since you have a sweet setup on your taco. Paul tuned my truck a few months ago and amazing combined with 5.29s

I just got my truck re-geared with 5.29s. What difference did you see with re-gearing alone vs combined with tuning?
The truck has plenty of power. The problem is the gearing is too tall in overdrive. Cruising along at 65mph the truck gets great milage (thanks to the tall gearing) but if you have to go up even the slightest incline the truck can't push that tall gear so it downshifts. Sometimes twice. Toyota sacrificed driveability to appease our government overloads and their cafe standards.
Bro I am 35” and the gear hunting it’s out of control. Have being thinking on the regears are my best option but I think I will try the tune first. Th aka for this review George 💪🏼

With the 5.29s and the tune, what type of mileage are you seeing? I did a 5.29 gear change as well…….
It will be interesting to see what CA says come smog time.

Why would California smog care? I took my manual transmission swapped car to get smogged and it passed and were talking about a car that never came to the states with a manual.

@@CACressida they just passed this last year that any remapped ECU will not pass smog.
What does it cost to get your truck tuned?

$500 max. That's what my 4runner was. The tacos are usually slightly less.

Its named Ott tune or overland torque tune. I like it better than kdmax the tune.
Just put ur seatbelt on though.😀
