Chester was a once in a lifetime singer. There's just that sound that sits halfway between screaming and singing that he hits perfectly.

As a fan of Linkin Park, and of my adorable Chester. The first minute was enough for me to cry. Chester had an incredible voice. And I miss him a lot. This last song and especially the video is very impressive, since it is something new that we had not heard and it is with Chester's voice. It's incredible, amazing

It's a just a coincidence it seems rest of the band is having a therapeutic listening session post Chester. Trac and vid was finished back in 2017, but then it didn't make the album selection anyway. Members also look considerably older today. And you see Chester coming in to join them in the vid.

Every time I hear his voice in a "new" release, I go back to that July Summer and remember the news of his passing. The emotions I felt listening to their songs for the first time, understanding the pain they lived through, and the struggles they had to endure. Knowing this was almost on Last Light, makes the message of the song hit a little harder. I remember Chester saying that singing softer was harder on his voice than the screaming and going loud, so it's a different message for me hearing him sing softer in parts here.

Thank you so much for waiting to listen/watch until you could share your reaction, that couldn't have been easy! Your expressions as you heard the various parts of the song matched mine when I first heard it, though I did start crying when they showed Chester's cheeky little smile while playing the acoustic guitar and right after sings "We hurt the ones we loved", it just hit me like a ton of bricks.

fun fact: Friendly Fire was supposed to be included in OML Album almost 7 years ago but it was scrapped before May 19th was released. this song was too similar to Battle Symphony, Heavy, Halfway Right, and Good Goodbye so thats when this song was prior unreleased.

I said this before, I always loved Linkin Park, but I don't think I ever appreciated how special Chester truely was until after his death. His voice, lyrics and music hit at such an emotional level that I can't explain, and hearing this 'new' stuff from them? It's hard, I never got to see him live, and I regret that. He's one of the few that if I had a chance to go back and time to meet them I would in a heartbeat.

I've watched this LP video, and heard this song, so many times, now, and every single time, I can't stop crying. Three places get me especially emotional. The one where Chester is playing a guitar and makes a little movement with his head and a placid smile. The one where Mike walks up to him on the couch and they fist-bump (you reacted to that fist-bump, too). And the end, where the music fades out and it's just Chester, singing so beautifully. And yes, you hit the nail on the head -- heartbreaking and comforting at the same time. Thank you for this.

I feel this immense loss, too, although Chester has never really been a part of my life - how much harder must it be for those who knew him and really lost him. Thank you for this video - and thank you Linkin Park

I love this.. I love to see my soul mate... You man... You feel music exactly like I do. Feeling every tone, every little thing it has to offer. And not seeing it just as something we wanna listen to in the gym, in the kitchen while cooking or something like that. But just listen to it, completely silent and just enjoying the moment... and enjoying what is happening in the song. None of my family or friends feel music like you and me do... And I love watching your videos.. Thanks for watching this. I plan to make vocal cover on this, so wish me luck cause it will be frickin pain to do. But I have to, for Chester. Love

When I saw the words "emotional rollercoaster"., it occurred to me that it might not be just the music but that Chester Bennington is one of your favorite singers and he ended his own life. Then it occurred to me that your favorite, Chris Cornell did as well. I don't know if you'd rate Kurt Cobain up there with those two, but I know you love his singing....and yet again, a suicide. Layne Staley - perhaps not technically a suicide, but certainly an example of brought on self-annihilation. Scott Weiland and Andrew Wood come to mind as well. It's a litany of names! Andrew Wood's death was the warning shot that whole Seattle scene should have heard loud and clear! Stay away from heroin. Nobody wins with heroin! If they didn't hear that warning shot, they weren't going to hear anything. I started to see if I could list some of my favorite vocalists from the era of my high school years, the 80s, who did the same thing and I thought: we lost Ronnie James Dio (who actually began in the 50s, but reached the peak of his popularity in the 80s), but he had cancer and fought it every step of the way. Rob Halford is still here. Geoff Tate is still here. Axl Rose, David Lee Roth, Sebastian Bach and David Coverdale are as well. We lost one of our biggest icons Eddie Van Halen, but again, like Dio, because of cancer. We lost Randy Rhoads, but that was because of a plane crash. None of these men self-annihilated. I wonder if you might want to do a video on what you think is to blame. Do you think their lyrics created some very negative energy that eventually came around to bite them in the ass? While 80s rock was for the most part, energetic, upbeat music, the grunge bands went as far from the Van Halen style of writing songs about having a good time and loving life and went in about as bleak a direction of lyrical imagery as was possible. What are some of the Seattle scene songs about loving life and wanting to live it to the utmost? What are the 90s era iconic songs about unbridled ambition and drive - the equivalent to I Wanna Be Somebody by W.A.S.P. from 1984? As far as I know, they don't exist. If music were drugs, 80s hard rock/metal would be cocaine - a stimulant and grunge would be heroin - a downer. While cocaine was rampant in the 80s music scene, heroin was rampant in the 90s scene. These music eras and the music scenes from them took diametrically different attitudes towards life, towards music and even towards their drugs of choice among those who did use drugs..and they certainly had diametrically different outcomes. Do you think any one single factors is to blame for those wildly different outcomes, or do you think it's a combination of their outlook on life, their approach towards lyrics and the drugs that were most prevalent in each of the two music eras?

Musicians usually have backlogs of at least a couple hundred songs that just never saw the light of day. Juice Wrld had a lot, and Linkin Park was no different. Thats why there was so many new songs in the meteora 20th anniversary like Lost, Healing Foot, etc. This particular one was a song that was supposed to be on One More Light but got cut for reasons I'm unaware of.
