Above of the Rim is one of my favorite movies of the 90s. Man it hard to believe this movie is gonna be 30 years old. The acting was on point. Amazing cast with Tupac, Leon, Bernie Mac, Marlon Wayans, Duane Martin and Woody Harris. Especially Tupac playing Birdie. But anyway I hope you have a wonderful day. Marlon Wayans need to do more drama movies because he was good in this and Requiem for a Dream. We be forgetting he also went to a perfoming arts school with Omar Epps and both their careers took off in 1992. Marlon said he likes doig comedy more because its more harder which he is right.

I found this movie during middle school, 6th grade to be exact. I had no idea what to expect but the first time I heard "Pain" I was hooked. I couldn't make it past the first 15 minutes of the movie before I'd restart it 😂. I watched it for like a week straight and had the verse down by the end of it

Funny enough, I sympathize with Birdie a lot in this movie. He's a terrible person, but he's really striving to reconnect with his brother and Shephard won't even give him a chance.

That's the problem, though; Birdie is a terrible person. Look at the lifestyle he lives. Birdie even suggested Shep join him in that kind of lifestyle, something Shep was clearly against. So it's no surprise Shep doesn't want to give him a chance. At the same time, Birdie overall looks down on Shep, even calls him a joke and has a violent side to him. Terrible might even be an understatement (lets not forget he did kill somebody just for smarting off to him). Maybe if Birdie lived a better life, it would have been understandable but this? Yeah...I understand why Shep is disgusted by what his brother has become.

Just to let you know that intro song was 2Pac himself. W one of my favorite songs of his called 'Pain' gotta let the GenZ know!

He Got Game is another good hoop 🏀 movie with Denzel Washington in it.

One of my all time favorite films for the fact I love basketball, and I love movies that highlights the aspects of the street life. This movie teaches the watcher about discipline in terms of who you associate yourself with, good and bad, and pathways. Leon I feel like doesn’t get enough credit for how well he played the role of Tom Shepard because not only did he have a great influence on Kylie Watson’s(Duane Martin) life, and basketball journey, but he was meant for this role. Marlon Wayan’s did a exceptional job too and I believe he was like 19 in this movie and it was one of his first breakout films, he starred in. Then we have my favorite rapper of all time PAC who was super amazing at playing the villain just like how he played a great villain in the movie Juice. I just wished Tom and Birdie had a chance to fix the issues that was going on between the two, but Birdie’s anger towards Tom was too strong. PAC did an amazing job playing this role while dealing with the lawsuits, rape charge, and problems in the music industry he was going through at the time. Bernie Mac did a good job just like everyone else in this film and I can sense how sad you were getting when Birdie was about to kill him, I got sad too because although Flip was talking crazy to them he didn’t deserve to get murdered like that. Flip was already going through a hard time finding a place to stay and in the streets so the way he went out was fucked up. This movie has its great moments, and dark moments but will forever be one of the greatest films, PAC starred in and everyone else. RIP to the ones that passed in real life after this movie came out. By the way I just subbed to your channel🫶🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾love the movie selections keep them coming.
