Namaste, Could you provide any links in English that describes in detail the vashtip fast? I tried to contact different jain temples to ask without any success. There is a certain month one should start and certain foods one should eat or avoid. Please provide any page or link that goes into detail about vashtip. Thank you and God bless

Pranam, In this video, I have explained the basic, Any fasting we do, the first thing to keep in mind is you can eat or drink 48 minutes after sunrise and till sunset only! In upwas, you can have boiled water only, again 48 minutes after sunrise & before sunset only In ekashana, you can eat one time in a day that too sitting at one place only, in which you can not eat bread cheese soda cold things, etc and the food shouldn’t be stale food, it should be prepared freshly that day only, fruits should be cut and kept 48 mins prior of eating & also the seeds should be removed! and vegetables if u are using in frankie or something, you can’t eat them raw, they need to be boiled first, fruits like pomegranate, you can’t eat as it’s full of seeds so you can make juice of it and consume after 48 mins! These are few basic things to keep in mind, outside food, chocolates, etc isn’t allowed as they are made of various mixtures! Homemade is fine. In Beyashna, you can eat 2 times in the day, but at one place one In ambil, the food is without ghee, oil, sugar, salt, fruits & vegetables, it’s the pure form of food which u can eat one time in the day sitting at one place. These are different fast, but you can start with the most simple one, which Is chauviyar like I have mentioned in my video, that is to not eat or drink after sunset till sunrise + 48 mins I hope this message is helpful, for more details, you can drop a message on Instagram @mylifeashenu & I will get back, jai jinendra

I want to do varshitap but having doubts like- Can a diabetic do this? Plus I'm not fully aware of the rules of varshitap as I do not belong to Jain community is making me sceptical
