I EDC-ed a Fully Serrated Knife For Two Weeks

This was honestly a really fun experiment. If you've ever been curious about serrated knives, this is the video for you.

FWIW, I have 'I can words do' moments all the time... but... I'm old, so... that may not be comforting at all (sorry about that...). This one turned out to be a very interesting (and quite humorous, as usual) video. I am a little disappointed (and surprised, based on my experience with Cold Steel models) that the AUS 10a in these knives performed so poorly - perhaps that is why they have gone with D2 on the latest batches. (I have never really considered D2 that much of an upgraded from AUS10 personally). Thanks for giving us the unique perspective that only you can & do. Definitely looking forward to the next 'I carried _______ for 2 weeks' video!

Thanks for watching as always! I absolutely LOVE AUS-10A, and I've been pretty disappointed with these knives too. It's a shame. Great design and usually AUS-10A is wonderful.

I have a CS double agent II fully serrated. Awesome knife. Tears through anything. I found sharpening it super easy with a diamond file

Serrations are so underrated. If you need something to just cut and cut and cut, they're great. Thanks for watching man!

Awesome video, I also carried a fully serrated knife, but for a year. The only way u can realistically sharpen it is to sharpen the back flat side ONLY, On a flatstone or worksharp, kind of like a chise, rasing a burr on the serrated sidel. Then you knock the burr using the corner of a stone or dedicated serrations rod sharpener. This will shorten the serrations over time, but it's quick and can get screaming sharp in no time. Once the serrations get too short, buy a new knife lolll, will take a few years though.

Thanks for the heads up! I'll have to give that a try. Sounds much better than sharpening each serration individually 😂 Thanks for watching!

@@gideonsstuff Wrap sandpaper on a screwdriver and slide it up and down the serrations and then gently the back side to knock off the burr. Start with coarse and go up grit and finish with a doing the same with a rough cloth like denim or canvas wrapped around the rod with polishing compound on it (don't forget to gently do the back side to knock off the burr). You can also speed up that last step by using a Dremel and a polishing cloth wheel and compound on it and on the slow speed have it spin down the serrations. You'll get a wicked sharp serrated knife.

I use the Block Sharpener on my Spyderco Dragonfly Serrated H1. Good enough for me and I use my knife numerous times a day as a Retired Firefighter and currently a Garage Door Tech / Installer.

been working literally all day......but IM HERE. video time yes yes. I have carried partially serrated before and a normal plain edge....never thought I'd have a reason for one. very similar thinking though, I do wonder what it would be like to edc a fully serrated. it is a tad bit harder to resharpen a serrated blade if you don't know what your doing. however, depending on what you use your knife for normally, a serrated blade would most likely be quite useful. great video! do you think that the steel would also affect your opinion? never had a fully serrated, so I have no experience with that.

I do think the steel will make a big difference. I want to get a fully serrated Microtech in M390 to test it. The sharpening is a bit of an issue, but I'm going to keep practising different methods to see what's best. I'll probably make a second part to this video in a few months once I try out some more knives😂
