I tried to become a seller a few years ago, I had some lovely items from a wholesaler but I really struggled to get them noticed and at the time there were charges for listing so there was no way it was going to work. It seemed like eBay were favouring big sellers and their items were always at the top

Some ideas of things to sell on eBay: 1. Vintage wrestling VHS 2. Books 3. Clothing 4. Electronics (Old vhs players do great) 5. Collectible cards (Pokémon, Yugioh, Magic, etc) 6. Sports collectibles 7. War memorabilia 8. Glassware (Rae Dunn is hot right now)

While some of this advice is nice, such things like clothes, collectable cards, etc are not worth it. It takes a full time reseller of just those specific things to make it work and even then its a lot of work and needs a fair investment up front

I have sold a item and when I come to look for it I realised that I had already sold it 🤣 . Tip !! If you ever do the same contact the buyer and tell them it is faulty or broken depending what it is .. then ask them if they would like a full refund or you can pick something else from my eBay shop . Odds on they will want a refund so then when they reply you refund them and press buyer asked for refund and case closed . No bad feedback 👍

Im surprised you don't wrap and secure the cd`s, cassettes, etc. There is a high possibility those items can arrive damaged or broken into pieces. Taking the extra time to wrap and secure your packages can greatly increase the buyers experience and in return you'll have happier customers with higher stars and less likely to receive negative feedback. Im also a seller on Ebay for many years and I learned the hard way. It seems to me that you've gotten so use to your shipping process, that you lack the experience of good selling ethics by rushing the process. All I can do is wish you the best of luck! Cheers

Thanks for your concern, but I have never had an issue using bubble mailers, we have sold many thousands of media items and maintained an almost perfect feedback rating for about 20 years. Certain things like PS1 games and Dreamcast games I protect more, but CDs and tapes ship just fine in a mailer.

Perhaps, it’s just me. I used to sell a lot of things quickly before the recession. Things I acquired for sale and things I wasn’t using. The recession came and I could barely sell things, even when listed globally. Recession “gone”, no recovery. I’ve had to throw in the towel and dispose of, donate or return things. It’s as if people barely want things, even if it were to say free with free shipping. In addition to that, I find that, at least for me, I’d really have to live in a large enough place that has a separate space to hold all of this stuff. Otherwise, you’re living in a persistently hoarded situation that you never escape and the justification is that it’s all going to sell one day - even if it doesn’t and you keep adding to it. That it becomes a safety hazard. I do admit I’m impatient in selling as, my early experience was so good. But, I just can’t keep living like this. I’m not a store that can hold onto things forever, feeling “Oh yeah. One fine day, that’s going to sell.”

And on the top of that packaging costs too. Bags , buble wrap , boxes , tape , paper and so on. And also the losses too , bad buyers wanting to return stuff for free , scammers and lost parcels.

@@miguelalves7333 Yes however those could be managed easily if you are imaginative and resourceful but those fees and postage I have no clue someone said large scale business account users cheat when the volumes are high that's how they bring it down. I think I saw a video on KZread.
