Nice review of the day. I did mine in Abingdon last weekend. I drove the Ferrari 250R (a Testa-Rossa replica, beautiful car, terrible driving experience, but fun) and the Ferrari California (which was superb, so I paid for 2 extra laps from the 2 I had booked). Alas, even though the Cali did have a video camera, there was no recording on my card when I went to pay for it. Yes, it’s a long day and totally a money spinner for them but, if you are aware of the extras, it’s a nice day out. And as you said, nice selection of cars.

As a former self employed contractor for this company (as well as others in the industry), I worked mainly as an instructor but also in the sign on tent at a lot of events too. They do not have any form of insurance covering the cars on track. Your “damage waiver” money that is sold to you as “insurance” but isn’t actually insurance is ideally supposed to go into a pot to in essence create its own sort of insurance policy to give them money to repair cars. Of course as company directors are greedy money grabbing scumbags this waiver pot gets taken out and spent on lifestyles rather than reinvested. This is why as soon as anything happens on track (as it did with me whilst I was in the passenger seat instructing), the first thing they look at is whether the customer has purchased the waiver. If so, the company will use any excuse they can to bill the instructors for the damage

i found the gear box super notchy this week even the instructor struggled a few time to getting it in gear. had a new engine last week wondering if linkages are worn

Hi, generic supercar instructor here (tho I may have worked that Bicester event). Always fascinating to hear customers and appreciate your honest feedback. I always think it's insightful to know that when you take into consideration the eye watering commission voucher companies take, the crazy (if you think about it) low prices to drive some of these supercars, maintenance, staff costs... if there wasn't the upselling (and yes, even some of us staff wince at the idea) honestly the companies genuinely would go out of business. Prices are driven that low, it's been like a race to the bottom over the years. Regarding waivers, keep in mind even a cone strike at speed causes damage to a car. So after a while all that damage waiver money will go on bumper resprays, door scuffs, stone chips, scuffed wheels from kerbs etc. Not leaping to its defence, just offering some food for thought. Anyway that GT40 is a damn cool car, an utter PITA but worth it 😁 And there are always more cars getting added to the fleets (for all companies) so worth looking at their websites direct, for the full range of cars and venues. Goodwood the other week was just 👌

I guess the deciding factor is cost, I don’t honestly know which the cheaper option would be or if it works out the same. They always have offers on though

I've got the GT40 drive this weekend so good video thanks! I've done a few of the experiences with EverymanRacing at Prestwold in 720s, Aventador etc so looking forward to driving some completely different to those. Just hope I fit! I'm 6ft2... how did you find the car for size?
