I Drove 5000 Miles To Race

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I've invested a ridiculous amount of money in building my ramp truck, preparing my 1971 Dodge Demon 340, and full tanker loads of diesel fuel just to get here. But here I am - so on today's episode, let's line up these two classic styled drag racers and see what's what.
No matter what happens, I got a "free" timing light out of the deal...

I know it. I completely intended to ride the clutch out of the hole. I’m finding it really hard to focus on all of these things at once. I was primarily focused on light timing as that’s what I’ve had the biggest problem with. Well, I’ve gotten better on light timing… now I’ll focus on not breaking things 🤣

Welcome to 4loor slifting . LEAD THE SHIFTER GENTLY IN GEARS WITH YOUR FINGER TIPS, WHERE IT'S SUPOSED TO GO FOLLOWING THE "H" BUT THE FASTEST TIME YOU CAN. #1-When you pull from 1st to 2nd, using the "Slaping tiger paw fingers", not the "pulling the rope fist". Stiff arms are slower than a slaping fingers, ask Bruce Lee. Well, you can't ask him but you know what I mean. The pulling rope fist will not only be slower in Tousands of sec., it will break the top shifter plate and the linkage. 2-When you cross the 2nd and 3rd, it's a no brainer-fork bender when you push straight in V shape instead of H pathway. "200" prior to Pre-determine shifting RPM. Lets say 5300 from 5500 shifting, start pulling out the shifter from the gear so it's already ready to insert into the next gear at 5500 as planed. It wont pull out from the gear since the release bearing is still engaged at 5300 and in full rotation. But the shifter will already be in course for it. Were talking Tousands of miliseconds but it what it takes to win or loose sometime. Practice this technic as much as you can and doing it the Having fun way using the "foot on rock slipping". You will be able to run against the best. Shift-her faster! Not stronger. Your already very good as shown on the videos. Maybe the stress took over. You know when you feel you right foot shaking on the gas pedal. Lol Best content of the month for me, because you were having fun. 😊

Epic adventure Jamie. You are a winner accomplishing what was a large effort on your part under time constraints. You getting to hang with fellow you-tubers was the icing on the cake ,so to say.🙂🐏

When you are working on the rear diff. you may want to replace the broken bolt on the driver's side spring clamp. I mentioned it on a previous video, but I believe it was on the Mopar Joe's site. Don't want it falling off and causing damage to anyone following you.

I enjoy watching you and Uncle Tony get together, whether by video or in person. A fun time. I hope from time to time you both can get together and continue sharing information. Sucks about the diff but still a good time all in all.

Awesome all around. But dude, a beefed up automatic is the way to go. That Demon will run, no question.

This car will *NEVER* have an automatic. And neither will my Barracuda. I have no interest in that. My interest lies in making the four speed work. I hope that makes sense.

Well that was fun! As you can see, racing a 4 speed car, it’s more fun, but carnage is never far away. But did I mention it’s more fun? You really have to have confidence to actually drive your car to the track, unless home is within pushing distance.

I watched the video on UTG and enjoyed the episode. At the end when your diff grenaded and your "dead dodge garage" name was mentioned it was epic! Just funning you. You had a very good chance at that ice cream cake. Having it all melted at the presentation was funny. If you won it would have been frozen and in good shape.🤣
