I remember one night on a job for a failed effluent pump. I dropped my phone out of my shirt pocket and kerplunk. Into the effluent chamber it went. It was crazy because the screen stayed on and you could see it all the while while pumping. This was pre smartphones. I stuck it in a bucket of fresh water cleaned it off, dried it out, and it was just fine.

Hi Dominic, I have been a subscriber to your channel since your beginning. My wife says that I am sick for watching this but it is really good information and advice if you have a septic system which we do. Last spring we were having affluent water pooling in our backyard and I was afraid that we were going to have to have a new drain field put in. But it wasn't the drain field. The problem was the septic tank on the outlet side was broken! The septic company said that they could try and repair the tank and not replace it. So they patched the tank with a special kind of cement. They also installed some new pipes and a new D box. knock on wood, the problem appears to be solved! The backyard is dry as a bone and no issues. I do have a question for you though, "The D box they installed was put in the ground with lid at ground level. Does that D box lid need to be covered up with dirt? I do check it occasionally to see if there is any problem. So far so good. Thank you pal for all you do.

Video-Idea: You should show people that they can order their OSSF layout from the Health-Department for free through email-FOIA. If you work in different counties that require stricter plans then you might show that too, like how some are pencil on paper while other OSSF-plans show tank-diagrams & much more. I am battling with my HD now b/c they are not properly requiring 'controlled drainage' for land that has less than 2% slope, they have ponded surface-water entering sprinkler-heads all over the county.
