I completely understand the fear and the anxiety of being judged by others for being well dressed when they're in sweat pants. But gurrrl, the thing is: we are not too dressed up, they are just too dressed down, and that is not our problem. On the other hand, clothes are all about how they make us feel, so if an outfit is too much for you, you can slowly introduce those pieces alongside the ones that you're already comfortable using. This way, you'll slowly build confidence in this style that you're aiming for, and also feel and look your best.

I honestly think you killed this style. The whole preppy, sophisticated vibe fits well in England.

The heart pounding and shortness of breath is the start of a panic attack. You can control it I've learnt to. Going out of the comfort zone definitely helps, just don't push it or tell yourself it was a bad experience or you'll feed the anxiety for next time. You wore it and you went and you smashed it. You came home and you were absolutely fine 😎👍 Fear is a part of doing something new and it's OK. I read a book called Feel the fear and do it anyway by Susan Jeffers and it is amazing for anxiety! 👍

Also I get the worst itchy scalp ever - the body shop's ginger scalp serum is a life changer! And if it's really itchy, lightly warm 1-2 tablespoons of oil (be really careful as too much will be hard to get out). Put half a lemon in it, rub it into scalp and ends of hair. Wrap your head all over in clingfilm and then put your hairdryer on it for five minutes. Then wrap it in a towel and leave it on for at least an hour. It's honestly incredible, it will sort it right out. To get the oil out, shampoo twice and use conditioner.

Imagine what kind of society we live in that women (men too.) are actually living in fear of dressing how they want. And the reasons aren’t stupid ever. It’s either judgement, unwanted attention etc. My mother as I was growing up taught me that If my shoes prevent me from running (when I dress nice and go out alone) I shouldn’t wear them. She also told me to look in the mirror after putting on an outfit and ask myself “would they tell me it’s my fault for dressing like this if smth happend?”. I maanged to shake this one off with a therapist but the shoe thing stuck with me and it’s ingrained in my brain and unluckily 3 times already I thanked myself for wearing shoes that I was able to run in.

As a girl with curly hair I too have an itchy scalp. Look into a scalp scrub or cleanser. The itchiness can very well be from product build up. I suggest trying it at least once to twice a month. I use the curl talk scalp cleanser. You can also try scalp oils to promote a healthy scalp!

I love this idea! I also wear really basic clothes but I love blazers and layering shirts! But I'm definitely not confident enough to wear them in public 😭

Okay, so I’m like you when it comes to trying to find remedies for a flaky scalp. Sometimes it’s so bad for me. I’ve tried so many products. However, my hairstylist told me recently because she never thought to ask when I would tell her how I get such a flaky and irritated scalp, ESPECIALLY around my hairline. Try shampooing your hair atleast 2-3 times when you wash (concentrating on your roots) then go in with conditioner once (applying mid shaft to ends). Especially if you only wash your hair 2-3 times a week, shampooing once is only getting the oils off your hair near your scalp. It isn’t fully cleansing which is causing the residual oil to clog the glands and creates irritation and flaking. Ever since I took her advice, it’s been night and day! So definitely try it. I always thought “lather rinse repeat” was a marketing scheme to use more shampoo but apparently not!
