Have always loved this song. It came to me this morning and I wondered why I found it so soothing and why it has stayed with me all my life. Listening again, I think it can be reinterpreted as being not about unrequited or lost love but about self love. It's a song for the heart itself, the hurt it feels for us, the life it gives us. Milain- I am so sorry for your loss. I too lost my dad..my best friend, my teacher of all that means something in this life.I keep all of that with me, in my heart. I cry thinking of him, and miss him so profoundly it hurts. I know that will never go away, until I see him again in Heaven, but I still feel him guiding me when I need his help, and that is what keeps me strong, the way he taught me to be. Keep your memories, like his guitar playing, close to your heart, and he will be there.He is always with you.

I once heard it when I was in a girl scout camping. 7 years later, I've been going crazy, trying to remember this song. I kept trying to recall the song every night. I couldn't remember the title, the rhythm, and everything but I know it is beautiful. I just thought that once I heard it again, I'll recognize. During my dad's burial, I was walking in the streets one morning when I heard it playing out loud.. I didn't know what to feel. All I know is my dad is looking after me.. I used to play this one as a street singer in Frankfurt, Germany, some 25 years ago. People of all kind did like it.

Everytime I hear this song, makes me think of my son who's over 40. I checked on the author and read about danny Whitten who died at age 29. As a father i can imagine the pain his death must have caused his parents. Thanks Danny for this lovely song.

This was once played in a bar I was in, where there was a live band. And right when the second chorus started, they played it more extreme. And everyone was singing it with their glasses up high. Best time of my life. Music really does bring people together. I will never forget this song.

THAT voice! So much passion. My late mum loved you and so do me, my sister and bro. We saw you at Ipswich, you were incredible of course. I got to see you with my mum at Birmingham, we got up and had a proper dance. Meant so much. I think I've seen you 4 times in concert now. Every time you're incredible. I have to say I think you're amazing. I'm 44. A young ish fan?! Where does the time go? I hope to see you in concert again in the future xx

We just lost our father to cirrhosis last September 18. This is his favorite song while playing guitar. To honor him, I personally resquested this song for his interment. I know my father is in heaven now, free of pain. I love you so much Tay. I really missed you.
